  1. I wouldn't replace the stock slide with one just for the sake of doing it. I have used one to build my first limited gun with and it works great. I mainly did it because I was wanting a 24 and they were so hard to find that I just decided to make one as I found a frame for cheap. If ya get one pay the extra for the blind mark as it makes the slide look a lot better without the big logo on the back.
  2. If your insistsnt on a glock buy a used one after the season for alot less money. At the price of a new one your getting into 2011 range
  3. Running a Midwest keyhole 15 on mine and it's very light. If you want lighter your option is carbon fiber
  4. Ya if you know how Gary sets up stages he is an evil man and dosent always make it as easy as shoot the shotgun dry and nail some steel with the pistol. It may be load the shotgun or hit small steel with the pistol
  5. I don't see an issue with it. I view it the same as the front pocket
  6. Give the procedurals and move on. I don't see a 10.6.1 DQ in this situation mentioned as I wouldn't see it as trying to cheat a stage as it was a malfunction the last mag used and the shooter was basically in survival mode as the classifier was already shot so give the procedurals and move on. It just dosent scream trying to pull a fast one on anyone or trying to cheat so a DQ wouldn't be warranted
  7. My opinion is I could care less where the make ready mag comes from for make ready. I guess it goes back to common sence like how we had to get the front pocket allowed for storing the mag for make ready and after you shot.
  8. I would inspect the chamber. If the case head is gone finish the unloading process as the gun is clear and send the shooter off to fix it. If it's simply the barrel of the case ie no case head I can say with 100 percent certainty the gun is clear and will not fire. No need to send an ro to supervise the situation. Sometimes we need to use a little common sence. Like Gary said
  9. A dq for that would go to the the RM to decide as you did say the words make ready which means the shooter may make ready. The shooter wouldn't be arguing that the event didn't happen it would be arguing making ready when told To do so isn't against the rules. What about the shooters who English isn't a primary language and they know the range commands and that's about it.
  10. Sabot are legal but your gonna be using that same rifled barrel for the entire match. I think what hurts alot of people is they are not honest with themselves and what they are capable of doing. I don't practice alot with slugs as i have no interest in dropping a buck a shot to practice for something I shoot very few of a year in an actual match. If its a shot I am pretty confident in I take one good shot at it. If its one I think is a hail mary for my i burn one at it FAST and move on. Is it a stage winning plan nope but I could care less as I am not gonna win it anyway and am not gonna sit there and go to war with a target and hope I eventually get it. I am sure everyone has seen people go to war and spend alot more time trying to get one target than they would have have by just throw one and go and its even worse if they go to war and still have to leave it.
  11. Running a spartan here and it just runs like a champ. I am using the Tripp mags for 10 Round. But the 9 round Springfield mags work great as we'll.
  12. The lone wolf comp is total garbage. The jäger isn't bad but I would think If your going one I would look at a 2011 comp
  13. Tried black bullets which is the same coating and it works for major
  14. There is no gen 1 23s ever made. What you have is a gen 2
  15. Yes both carbine length. I had a 7.5 inch which was a pistol gas system that I sold because it was just so violent The 10,5 while loud isn't too violent to shoot.
  16. Running a 10.5 inch and 11.5 Inch here. Both are just as reliable and will feed any ammo including Tula and wolff. You may need to play with the buffer weight on the gun. Usually a h or h2 buffer works best
  17. Save the more and add a magwell and iron sights if you insist on adding stuff to it. The comp red dot and mount are gonna 700 bucks or so for a gun that's not gonna be the least bit competitive
  18. Ran mine with an sjc mainly because it allows more holster options over the modified cr speed that's required for the carver. I am not a fan of the cr speed as the retention is an issue and not near as solid as the Racemaster. The ability to draw through the lock of a cr speed is what turned me off to them
  19. He is referring to it being a compact and a 40 caliber. A compensator puts you in open which means they are using red dots and full size guns
  20. You don't need that much space for a reloaded. I have one mounted on about a 3.5 foot bench
  21. The primary safety is the thumb safety not the grip safety. The grip safety dosent need to work but the thumb safety does. There is no benefit to trying to start with the safety off and is a good way to set one off coming out of the holster.
  22. The choke pattern is not even throught the pattern with center being far more dense. The longer barrel with longer sight radius is more precise in the placement of the pattern which puts more of the core of the pattern on the steel which extends the range as there are sufficient hits to knock it over. If it's hit farther out on the pattern it's not as dense and there are fewer pellets to hit the steel to knock it down. The bore diameter has some to do with the pattern as well and a bigger diameter barrel is easier to get a nice open pattern out of where a smaller diameter barrel is easier to get a tight pattern out of.
  23. I agree with above, check grip screw tension as I have seen that cause follow. Also make sure the sear spring isnt loose in the slot it sits in as that can cause it to slip as well
