  1. I currently load with S&B SPPs on a 650 and am not seeing this issue. Unless this is an issue with a very recent batch of primers, I'd rule out the primers as the problem. Regarding the station one 'stickiness' can you recall if it is during the downward stroke or the up/push forward stroke. I can understand how issues on the downstroke could cause the primer to move enough 'jump' out of the retainer, thereby causing the next stroke (primer seating up/forward stroke) to jam the primer in cockeyed. You may also want to remove your primer feed and wheel to clean them up and at the same time double-check the tightness of the primer punch and feed tube to make sure they have not loosened up.
  2. Tools required will depend on your dexterity and patience. I prefer to remove the main spring when replacing the safety, is it takes pressure off the hammer when you're trying to reinstall the sear cage, not lose the little springs in the cage and pull back the safety detent all at the same time. To do this you'll need to remove the grips (screwdriver or allen) mainspring plug (punch) and small screwdriver or dental pick to pull back the spring loaded safety detent on the left side. Having said that, removing the main spring isn't required, just makes it easier for me as it's a 5-min job to get the main spring out. In my experience the S2 safety from CZ drops in with no fitting required. The CZC safety may require some fitting of the engagement area.
  3. @Dude - that has to be the cleanest reloading setup I've seen and the hutch enclosure is just awesome!! Now back to our regularly scheduled program- Florida: humidity, hurricanes and more humidity
  4. I used a hammer and punch to remove the sight on my SP01. The old sight eventually got removed and new sight installed but it wasn't pretty or easy. When it came time to replace the sight on my TS, I used a $50 sight pusher. One of the best gun related tools I've purchased!
  5. Looks like the major online reloading retailers have gotten a new shipment of Prima V! I'm going to wait for a sale and stock up this time
  6. 40309 FIBER OPTIC FRONT SIGHT 75 SERIES 1X7.50MM 40319 FIBER OPTIC FRONT SIGHT 75 SERIES 1.5X7.50MM These are for the fixed rear TS sight.
  7. OP, FYI if the TS safety was from CZC, the engagement area has to be filed to fit even when installed on a TS. Not hard to do if you take your time. Filing and test fitting has the added benefit of gaining experience removing/installing the safety
  8. Add me to the list of folks that purchased these (previously & now) and are on the backorder list. Pretty good deal if you ask me.
  9. Come back and provide an update once you get a chance to test out the Promag block1
  10. Recently read that Hipefire discontinued the original line of triggers and released a new line, hipertouch. Any feedback on the changes +/-'s?
  11. I tested Prima V to Ba 9.5 and found that you need more Ba 9.5 powder to make the same velocity/PF as Prima V. At that point in time, my preference would be Prima v. However now that supplies of PV have dropped into the abyss, I'm looking for my next sub $20/lb powder.
  12. If you're just starting out a factory SP01 won't be your limiting factor for some time. If you are exploring other production options the Canik SFx (little less expensive than SP01) is almost identical to the Q5. There's a video in the 'Other..pistols' forum where a Q5 top end is assembled on a Canik lower (and vice versa) and both pistols (Q5 & SFx) function and fire.
  13. OP- are you able to unscrew your buffer tube one revolution and still engage the buffer detent catch? If so this should give you a hair more space for the hammer to catch.
  14. I had previously thought that the frames of the TSO and TS were the same, except for checkering, trigger guard and grip contour. Realized this evening that the dust cover on the TSO is wider than the TS when I tried to put my TSO in a TS holster. The TS fits nicely in the TSO holster, but not the other way around with the two holsters that I had hand.
  15. Thanks for sharing your experiment Mikie. Looks like a pretty even comparison, any 'spacers' used with either buffer?
  16. ...the other hand you could also consider hiring a nanny, reloading problem solved, plus you have the full confidence of the RGC Quality Control department! BTW, congrats on the new addition to the family
  17. Aside from chrono'ing the loads, it sounds like you guys are on the right track; reloading and enjoying the fruits of your labor!!
  18. Interested to hear what you figure out Mikie
  19. I'm still testing a 7.5oz Kaw Valley buffer to a 4.9 w/spacers to see which one runs better in my PCC. The KV buffer just barely allows the bolt to come back far enough to grab the BHO catch.
  20. My case feeder is less than a year old and looks similar to the one in ChuckS' pictures. Mine doesn't have any issues with jamming or stuck shells. I run the small plate for both my 9mm and .40 loads also.
  21. The boys a Lee are quite busy it seems. To add to those, there's the Lee Short Bottle Neck collet style (SBNCS) factory crimp die for small bottle neck pistol cartridges To answer the original question, I use the Lee FCD for straight wall (9mm, .40, 45ACP) pistol cartridges that comes in their 4-die box set. I adjust it down just enough to remove the flare at the case mouth. When initially adjusting the die, I pull a bullet after running it through the FCD to ensure I'm not over crimping and breaking into the coating/plating/jacket on the bullet. The Lee FCD wasn't designed to smooth the 'glock bulge' found in many .40s. This needs to be done with the sizing die before the bullet is placed in the cartridge. Resizing the case (aside from removing the case mouth flare/bell) after the bullet is in place, could result in swaging the bullet which in turn could negatively impact case tension against the bullet, allowing it to move in the case.
  22. When people talk about Lee Factory Crimp Dies (FCD) I wonder if they sometimes forget that Lee makes 2 distinct designs and names them both Factory Crimp Dies? One will apply a roll crimp and very much suited to 9mm and .40 loads. They other design produces a more aggressive crimp, used for canalure or rifle rounds. Factory Crimp die for straight wall pistol calibers FCD primarily for rifle rounds..notice the lack of fine adjustment knob at the top
  23. For those of us that have the PSA 'hybrid' 9mm bolt, where can extra firing pins and springs be purchased? Also, not sure how many different manufacturers PSA sources their bolts from, so perhaps the hybrid 9mm may come from multiple manufacturers, each having unique components....
  24. Yep, has worked flawlessly for me so far.
  25. If the parts are both OEM and both guns on the approved list, no issue doing this. There's still the stipulation that all safety devices must function, etc. etc. so don't get too carried away.
