  1. If you've never reloaded before, my suggestion is to skip the case feeder. This will slow you down, however you'll learn what each station in the press does and when. Case feeder is super easy to add at a later date. Takes literally 5 minutes to unbox, slide over the existing mount, plug it in and you're ready to go. Some things to consider when getting a new 650 Strong mount. This raises the press up and allows the press to be mounted a little bit away from the end of your bench and still allow the handle to move through its full range of motion You'll need a set of dies, the 650 does not come with any Roller handle and bullet tray can easily be installed at a later date. However if you have the funds, it may make sense to order them with the press so they are shipped for free Dillon tool holder (and tools) are nice, but not necessary. The press will come with basic allen wrenches Not Dillon specific, but you'll want a scale (digital or beam) for powder, calipers, reloading manual and case prep (dry or wet) tools. Bullet puller and lights for the press are nice too. Good luck, reloading is quite an adventure and very rewarding for many folks
  2. I shot my X-cal in quite a few matches last year with no issues. Stated getting occasional light strikes, however the season ended before I was able to positively determine the reason. I 'suspect' it was primer related as I switched from CCI to S&B during the season. I have since switched to Limited Dicision and haven't shot the GP enough to determine if the issue is resolved or not. BTW I load on a 650.
  3. Too much lemishine will definitely cause the cases to be dull (either nickel plated or brass ones) and in my experience they tend to be stickier.
  4. Lee makes several different design dies referred to collectively as 'Factory Crimp Dies'. I use the style with the adjustment knob on top for both my 9mm and .40 reloads. No issues with accuracy or swagging coated lead (provided it is not adjusted too tight) bullets.
  5. There are CCI and Win small pistol primers listed. You just need to scroll down to see the 'stock' status. Both were in stock a few minutes ago when I checked. No S&B SPPs listed though. Maybe they are going to stop carrying that brand.
  6. If you don't have small paws, consider a CZ Tactical Sport. New they are a tad over $1000. You can pick them up used for less than that. Great pistols out of the box, lots of parts available and in general very reliable platform. Several good vendors to get the pistol serviced, if needed; CZ-USA, CZ Customs or Cajun.
  7. I switched to shooting primarily in limited after getting a replacement sear spring from Eagle. So don't really have enough rounds through the pistol to ensure the problem is resolved. Additionally, I switched from CCI to S&B primers. I have an inkling that the change in primers is more relevant than the new spring. If it were me, I'd switch to a different brand of primer, after doing a thorough cleaning of the gun.
  8. Where the red line is in the pic below is where you'll need to grind. Hopefully there's enough material in that location to remove, to allow the magazine to drop in/out without resistance.

    Cz for 3 gun

As long as you aren't stuck with keeping the factory basepad, you can get 23 rounds into a factory tube, by replacing the spring, follower and adding an extended basepad. I have Grams follower, extended spring and CZC basepad, which gets me 23 rounds of 9mm. FYI, does not lock back consistently on an empty mag if this is important to you.
  10. The CM/TS/TSO mags are wider than the standard CZ75/SP01/S2 mags. The S2 mag release assembly will 'fit' however you'll need to do some grinding to make your mags fit.
  11. Nope, just an email indicating that order status had changed....to cancelled
  12. Order a few boxes of the S&B SPP when they were on sale at Cabelas in March. Got a note this morning that my order was cancelled. Did anyone else order online and if so, was your order fulfilled or did it get cancelled?

    New TS Orange

    180gr. I reload. Spring is 10 or 11 #
  14. For my TSO I load Bayou 180gr bullets with 4.5gr of N320 or Prima V at 1.13 OAL. I have chrono'd this recipe several times. 170-175 PF with SD <10. I have put close to 10K rounds through the pistol with this setup and have not had any feeding or extraction issues what soever.
  15. After making a change, why not remove the powder activation rod and manually throw 10 charges into a container and weigh? I happen to use the plastic case the Dillon cause gauges come in. They are very light, yet large enough to hold 10 powder throws.

    New TS Orange

For .40 major, I run a 10/11# recoil spring without the buffers. No functional issues or signs of accelerated wear or damage by doing this. Probably have 20K down the barrel on this particular pistol.
  17. Welcome to the great state of Texas TitoR! and enjoy your new found freedom.

    New TS Orange

Another vote for CZCs having both (CZC & SP) also. Matter of fact, going to put the SPs up for sale when I get around to cleaning out the gun room.

    TS/TSO size

The fine (vs. coarse) checking on the grip and drilled/tapped holes on the left side of the frame (for the thumb rest) is a dead give-away it is a TSO Of course these could be duplicated on a TS, but if they are not there it is a pretty good (99.9%, nothing is guaranteed in this life) sign that the pistol is not an orange.

    TS/TSO size

While they are both based off the same frame design, the tactical sport and tactical sport orange have different grip contours. The backstrap area on the TSO is contoured more, which creates a 'smaller' grip diameter where the web of your thumb contacts the upper portion of the grip. This effectively shortens the 'reach' to the trigger and safety. You may not be able to see this difference visually, however it is very noticeable when gripping both pistols side-by-side. The TS has a larger grip, which could make reaching the controls difficult if you have short fingers or generally small hands. Adding thin metal grips help with this a bit. Best to try both to see which fits your hands better.
  21. It's not designed around one particular frame/design, so it includes attachments to allow for different sights & frames. While I have not personally used it on a S2, I have on both TS and TSO pistols. With the adjustability built into this thing, I'm pretty confident it would work on a S2.
  22. Some people like them. I leave mine off, as the factory unit is not in the right location and would require me to alter my grip.
  23. I asked myself the very same question, CZ TS/TSO or 2011 when I switched from Production to Limited. Both are very well respected platforms, no doubt about that. From my research the TS/TSO requires no internal modifications to run and do so very reliably out of the box. Listening to my buddies that have 2011, there seemed to be a lot of fine adjustments & tuning of the gun and also the mags. However once they are dialed in, 2011's are no joke either. This is what pushed me towards the CZ platform- out of the box reliability and interchangeability of parts. Aside from extended basepads, there are no functional or reliability upgrades needed. Gips, safety, sights, etc. get changed, however this is mostly because of personal preference, not necessity. One other nice thing about the CZ platform for limited, is the TS. It's ~$500 cheaper than the Orange, however all the mechanical parts interchange. So if someone wants to dip their toe into the limited water with an all metal gun, the TS is a pretty good choice. If you like the CZ platform, get a TSO and use the TS as a backup. If the CZ isn't for you, sell it and get that 2011 you've been eyeing
  24. What's the volume/density of sport pistol compared to N320 or Prima V?
  25. Seems the big online dealers have this powder back in stock. I'm going to pick up 10 or 20 pounds, if a sale pops up in the next month or so. If not, the everyday price is still very reasonable.
