  1. I soak a few patches with Mobil 1 synthetic and apply by hand.
  2. Thanks for the suggestion, however it's definately the pistol. It was happening on both factory and reloads. One round I dropped the hammer (DA) on 3 or 4 times...nothing. Pulled back the hammer and dropped it SA- boom.
  3. Anyone looking to part with their extra, extended safety...PM me
  4. Why do you say that Bayou are not 'good for open' guns? I don't believe the hi-tek coating strips off under high velocity like plated bullets do... @shooterdrew that thing smokes like a choo-choo. What bullet/coating was that?
  5. Don't want to pull this thread too far off track, however regarding the single use CC numbers. Most issuers allow you to generate a 1-time use number (virtual account) that is linked to your CC, but can only be used for 1 transaction. With Citi, I go online request a number, they send a verification text to my phone, once I plug that in, I get a valid CC number, complete with exp and the 3-digit code. I can also limit the dollar value of that number and duration it is valid. Hope I don't sound like a salesperson for Citi, I don't work there, just happen to use their card; this year far too often
  6. Do you order powder or primers (from a different company) at the same time you order the projectiles? I've had my card info jacked 3 or 4 times. I'd order bullets at the same time as other reloading components so it took a couple of times for me to narrow down the likely culprit...pretty sure it was the powder company. Now I use a single use credit card number, which my cc company provides as a service. Only takes an extra 5 min and sure easier to having to get a new card and dealing with the fraudulent charges.
  7. Not sure if you are aware...front sites are measured differently by each manufacturer. Some measure the total sight height from bottom of the dovetail to top of the sight, whereas others measure from the top of the barrel (when installed) to the top of the sight. Make sure you're comparing apples to apples, when reviewing the manufacture spec's.
  8. I would think it would be easier to get a different height front site than filing on the rear to get it to fit. P.S. lots of different CZ configs
  9. SP01 and czechmate grips are different. Czmate uses a larger mag and therefore has a slightly larger grip than SP01.
  10. I'm in the same boat, scouring the interwebs for PV and none to be found. Damn the bastards that sucked it dry from the supply chain. I like PV because I could use it for 9 minor and .40 major, burned clean, accurate and cheaper than N320. Guess I need to to investigate SV a bit further.
  11. I've been getting intermittent light strikes on both factory and reloads. Most of the time it occurs when using double-action. When this happens, 90% of the time a second pull (again DA) is all that's needed to light it off. I've had one or two rounds that would only fire when I pulled the trigger in SA. Took the gun apart, cleaned everything, replaced all springs with factory units and oiled it back up. Still getting occasional (1 in 50 or so) light strikes. I'm going to take a close look at the hammer and firing mechanism to see if there are any burrs or places where the hammer could drag. Any other thoughts on what could be causing this?

May want to get some basepads, other than that, they're ready to rock out of the gate
  13. Can't comment on Armani suits..however to setup/verify my powder charge, I drop 10 charges and measure these on two, zero'd digital scales. This technique gets me very close to where I need to be, powder wise. If I want to perform a 'triple check' I verify using my beam scale. While this technique is not ultra precise, it is good enough for the shooting that I'm doing.
  14. FWIW, the $50 Promag (yep, same company that makes shitty mags) adapter block (for Colt style 9mm mags) has functioned flawlessly using a PSA 9mm upper/bolt on a standard AR15 lower. It's a two piece unit and installs from the bottom. LRBHO functions fine.
  15. OP- The same questions that you are asking recently ran through my head also. Since I had some colt-style (ASC & C-products) 32-round mags laying around I decided to pick up the PSA 9mm upper and the Pro Mag (yea, that's a curse word in the magazine realm) mag block/adapter. Installed the mag block in a double-start lower (happened to be handy) and pinned the upper, and to the range I went. From the first to last round (of 300 or so) I had not one failure. BTW, this was with steel case wolf ammo that I had handy. My only major concern with the config is the ability to reload quickly. You'll need to download to reload on a closed bolt and even then it will take some practice; it's not like a pistol mag change.
  16. Looking for a place to pickup a 3G or C model also
  17. Interesting, never heard of that before. I'm going to have to give it a whirl.
  18. Did you install this on a standard AR lower? The website seems to indicate that some non-CMMG lowers may not work properly.
  19. Can anyone else confirm this? My understanding (open to adjustments/correction as I'm surely not the expert) was that the two additional springs (11 & 13#) could be identified by size, with the 13 # spring being longer.
  20. Yep! I used a manual impact driver to remove mine. Get a spare screw before you start this, in case you strip the old one. BTW, the trigger assy can remain in place.
  21. First thing I'd do is verify the root of the problem is the loaded round or the pistol you're shooting it in. Provided the problem lies with the reload, it could either be primer seating depth or the primer itself. High primers should be detectable visually or by feel when you are case gauging them. If the primers are seated correctly, perhaps your primer is a bit hard for the pistol it is being shot in. In this case try a different brand primer, or fiddle with your gun
  22. OP- Once you've had a chance to test the 165 bullets, I'd be interested to hear your thoughts. Like Rowdy, I have only loaded 180 bullets, however is use N320 & Prima V, not TG.
  23. Appreciate the feedback Sarge (and I realize that you are only the messenger) however if I need to download to less than ~30 rounds then the Glock PCC configuration becomes more enticing....all other things being equal
