  1. The dimensions of the TSO trigger guard has changed a bit over the years. The 2018 model TSOs have a larger trigger guard, than previous years.

    Yes, they do break

I run a pin only in my TSO (i.e. no slidestop functionality) and noticed half of it missing yesterday while practicing at the range. At $9/ea they are cheap enough to carry spares and change yearly if necessary.

Take a look at a standard 75 safety, it's a different shape than the one in your picture. Having said that, I thought the safeties (not decocker) were interchangeable betweenSP01 and shadow.

    Yes, they do break

Nevermind, noticed the shadow 1 safety is different than standard SP01 .
  5. I put blue painters tape under the grip (trimmed so it's not visible with grips installed) and it fixed the issue
  6. OP- not clear if you're saying that there's a delay in the hammer dropping after you pull the trigger or the hammer drops immediately and there's a delay in the round dischargin i.e. hang fire
  7. In my experience CZC safety will need to be fit to the sear. CZ S2 extended safety drops right in to a TS or TSO
  8. I have a fixed rear sight on my TS and want to change the front to a Fiber Optic one. Looking at CZ USA's web sight, it is not clear which FO front (height wise) is recommended for the fixed rear that comes from the factory. I believe it is around 5.50mm, hoping to confirm before I order. Anyone have any experience doing this?
  9. As an RO I try to limit the jaw jacking, however if I feel the need to say something (other than the official commands) I do it before the MR command. Quite a few shooters have a process they need to go through prior to the buzzer, so I have the courtesy to allow everyone that same opportunity. As for the competitor mentioned in the initial post, I'm hoping he/she is OK, has learned a valuable lesson and comes back to shoot more USPSA matches; ideally better informed, trained and prepared.
  10. posting before the 'FCD is the devil' crowd arrives :) As others have posted, your cartridge looks fine. Little bit of 'coke bottle' from your sizing die, but if it is accurate and feeds well, what is there to fix.
  11. Left of center would almost certainly guarantee negative outcomes. You'd have people wanting handouts of free ammo and such....

'were' completely different, prior to 2018 :)
  13. If you're breaking the pin, something isn't right. The pin is primarily allowing your barrel to tilt/cam up/down, there shouldn't be enough force on it to break it. Check your barrel to see if something is binding.
  14. Nope and honestly I've never found the need to do this. At my range I can lay an empty pistol on the safe table with no mag inserted and the slide closed

I ordered the TSO insert which was a perfect fit for my TSOs manufactured in 15&16. I'm a bit disappointed in CZ for skimping on this machining step, as I doubt they are going to pass along any of the savings to us.
  16. I have stopped using slide stops (not because they broke excessively) and just us the pin now. The reason for this is because I don't normally plan to run the gun dry (hence no need for the slide to lock back) and having the pin only helps with the grip placement of my support hand.
  17. Another wet tumbler that foregoes pins. Brass isn't spotless, however outside is clean and the bit of synthetic was I add to the rinse makes resizing a breeze; no additional lube (for pistol) needed.

Tactical sports in general have a bit thicker trigger guard than oranges. The reason I say 'in general' is that prior to 2018 this was true, however newer TSOs (2018 or so) have the same trigger guard as TS. It would be a safe bet to buy an insert labeled TS, as those haven't changed (as far as I know) however one labeled TSO could either be for pre-2018 TSOs (most likely) or newer TSOs, which would be the same as TS
  19. The pistol in the picture looks to be a SP01 frame with a Tactical Sport slide. That particular combination was never marketed by CZ, to the best of my knowledge.
  20. I disconnect the fail-safe rod and manually actuate 10 powder drops into a lightweight container and then weigh it. The 10 drops is easy to convert in your head and provides an average of what to expect. I don't load for absolute precision, so using an average is fine for me.
  21. From your post, it isn't clear (at least to me) if you are intending to continue to compete in Production and also Limited or if you are transitioning to limited from Production. With some mods the S2 would be fun to shoot in limited minor, although you would be at a slight disadvantage from other 9mm minor shooters from a capacity perspective Although if you have it, why not shoot it and have some fun, even if it technically isn't the pinnacle of limited machinery.
  22. Glad you and the 650 are both alive and doing well! Had us worried there for a bit

    Value of CZ slide

Used 75's in .40 (not as popular as 9mm) sell in the $350-450 range. I'd expect the slide to be ~50-60% the cost of the complete pistol.
  24. Nope.... I have two :D Just in case the first one dies and FA decides to stop making them. I had problems with my first unit, mostly with Winchester primers (CCI and S&B worked OK) that required me to remove/smooth some of the plastic 'flash' from the primer tray. This got the gizmo working about 85-90% of the time. I was happy with those results, so I ordered a few spare primer trays and tubes from Frankford Armory (FA). When these arrived, for grins, I decided to try out one of the new trays and found that it worked 95-99% out of the box; been using that tray since. Once the primers are orientated in the tray (takes 5-10 seconds) it takes another 10 seconds or so to fill the primer tube.
