  1. I have 2 rifles that use the colt design 9mm mag. Both require a lot of force to load a full 30 rnd mag on a closed bolt. Anyone else have this issue and if so, what suggestions do you have?

    Nose dive

I have a TSO in 9mm and don't have any issues with loading 20 rounds in a factory mag
  3. The 'coke bottle' shape you are seeing is because of the Dillon sizing die The rounds below were loaded on the same press using Dillon and Lee dies. Care to guess which are which? P.S. aside from aesthetics, I'm not sure there's any benefit/issue with either setup; both setups shot fine in my rig.
  4. I run LOK palmswell grips on my TSO. One of the reasons for the 'palm swell' was to get the palm of my weak hand a bit further from the gargantuan mag release on the TS. It has helped some, but doesn't totally get rid of the irritation, at least for me. I've shot the TSO enough that it doesn't bother me as much as when I first picked up the gun, however this could be made better. One day when I have some spare time and an extra mag release, I may decide to trim down the factory unit and re-checker it. Need a spare in case I don't like the results (i.e. longer works better) or I grind too much off. On a related note, Shadow 2 safeties are drop in fit for a TS. Nice upgrade
  5. Diameter of the FO rod; 1.0mm vs 1.5mm
  6. Both of the sights below will work with a TS non-adjustable rear. The PN and price are from the CZ-USA web site 40309 FIBER OPTIC FRONT SIGHT 75 SERIES 1x7.50mm 1 $35.00 $35.00 40319 FIBER OPTIC FRONT SIGHT 75 SERIES 1.5x7.50mm 1 $35.00 $35.00

    Canik 23rd. Mags

Anyone measure the slide racker to see how far it sticks out? All this talk of allowed or not may be moot if it doesn't fit in the box when installed
  8. The chrono should be 12-15' or so from you. You should be able to pick one up for $75-120 new, depending on the brand. I lucked out and got a Caldwell with the tripod and serial interface (for your smart phone/tablet) for less than $100.
  9. I started testing this powder using Bayou 124 TCG bullets. At 4.0gr of powder I was only seeing ~953 FPS/118 PF out of a CZ pistol. Tested a few other bullet weights (135 & 147) and found that I needed more Ba 9.5 for a given weight bullet to reach minor PF than either N320 or PV, so I stopped my testing there. If your results are anything like mine, at 4.0gr you are likely not making minor or if so, just barely. Grab yourself a chrono and see where you are at, perhaps you've found the pinnacle of powder perfection with this one
  10. I have loads developed for 9mm minor and .40 major. Both loads burn clean and are pleasant to shoot, low/no 'snappiness' from the .40
  11. Thanks for the info OP. I load Prima V quite a bit. Your post provides motivation for me to work up some SV loads this winter. P.S. where did you get the SV from?
  12. Congrats on the 'decision' (allowance ) to get a 650, great machine! I use my 650 primarily to load 9mm and .40 for USPSA. Here's some thoughts/suggestions: Get some experience under your belt before adding complexities of case/bullet feeder. Dillon case feeder will run ~$250, the small pistol plate will run 9mm and .40 just fine...no adjustments needed between calibers Get a case gauge in both calibers I have both DIllon and Lee dies. They both do a good job, however the Lee 4-die set can be purchased for ~$35-40. Grab a few ammo boxes/cases, they are $2-3/each. Better to order them with other stuff to absorb shipping costs Another recommendation to skip the primer tray and get a Vibra Prime unit. Comes with a flip tray in the event you want to manually hunt/peck the primers Order a 'quick change' setup from Dillon. This will allow you to dedicate a tool head, dies and powder dispenser to each caliber. Which in turn makes for quick/easy caliber changes The press will be setup for 1 caliber, you'll need to order a caliber conversion kit for the other caliber you want to load Powder & primers I normally order from either Powder Valley or Grafs. BTW, Grafs stocks a lot of Dillon stuff. Their prices are slightly ($1 or 2) higher than Dillon, however they have flat rate $7.95 shipping. So if you need to order powder and need a Dillon part or two, add it to your order and save a few bucks. Bullets- lots of choices here. Pick the type (coated, plated, jacketed) that works for you and your budget. Last but not least, good luck in your reloading adventure!
  13. I find that .40 loads more easily and smoothly on my 650 than 9mm, using off the shelf Dillon parts (no polishing, etc.). If I had to hazard a guess, I'd say one of two things (or perhaps a combination) is causing the issue. 1) The Udie or how it is set 2) Your case prep/tumbling process Easy enough to verify, eliminate one or the other and run through your press and see if there is an improvement. FWIW, I load both range pickup (practice rounds) and once-fired (match) LE brass w/out using a Udie and haven't had any issues. Nor do I use case lube for straight wall (external, I realize the 9mm is tapered internally) pistols rounds.
  14. Definately Matter of fact, one time while shooting the firing pin retainer plate slid down (because the FP spring wasn't pushing the FP against the plate) and the FP and spring proceeded to eject themselves from the slide. This resulted in a few click, rack, click, rack WTF, WTF, click, rack ah shiz there's no FP moments.
  15. I use PV for both 9mm (minor) and .40 (major) loads. I have worked up loads for VV N320 and Prima V and found the PV to be comparable to N320. Burns as clean as N320, however a little bit more smoke. The charge is within a few tenths or the same as N320 and the PV meters just as well on my 650. Relative accuracy (versus bullseye type shooting) was my goal and the PV + coated bullets met this need just fine. Now to find a vendor that has PV in stock....
  16. same gun and ammo, only difference is the FP spring.
  17. I load 4.3gr of Prima V under a 180gr bullet for my TSO. I may try working up a SV load this winter to see if it is an improvement over my existing load.
  18. Anyone know who has Prima V in stock? Both PV and Grafs have been OOS for several months.....
  19. OP- have you tried the thin aluminum grips from CZ customs? Those seem to be about as thin as you're going to get.
  20. Seems everyone is running an AR derived platform in PCC. Why no bullpup or other configs?
  21. Seeing a grip of shooters using AR platform firearms. Anyone use a bullpup design for PCC?
  22. Glock springs are typically flat wound ISMI type springs. I have heard that round springs (check wolf) may fit.
