  1. For those that don't know, most Shadow 2s ship from CZ with 2 sets of safeties; a thin set and an extended set.
  2. You FL guys are the envy of us northerner's who can't imagine shooting an outdoor match this time of year. Another dissenting vote for a proprietary lower/upper design AR. Interchangeability (to me) is one of the hallmarks of the AR platform.
  3. I don't have any data for that particular weight bullet, as my reloads for 9mm start at 124gr. With 124gr coated lead (Bayou or BBI) fired from a CZ SP01 I'm seeing around 1080-1100fps, or ~130-132PF. This is with 4gr of N320 and OAL of 1.080-1.090. I load these (and my 135 gr bullets) short because of the CZs short'ish throat. Comparing my results to the VV load data, my velocities are on target with their data, and the loads are very close to published max (4.0 versus max of 4.1, depending upon bullet). I did not however, notice any signs of over pressure.
  4. Looking to order some more Prima V before next season gets started and my free time dwindles to nada. My go-to sources for power have been out of stock since August or so. Anyone seen this available for order recently?
  5. Looks very consistent RAP. Maybe a bit off topic- how did you determine your ballistic coefficient? On my chrono, I just leave it at the default of 1.000.
  6. Not getting into the sit vs. stand debate In addition to what has already been suggested, I recommend getting a digital caliper (even the HF ones are better than nothing), chronograph and case gauge.
  7. Looks like I've got a new powder/load to test during the cold season
  8. I have had good luck with a Promag (I know, I know, their mags suck) Gen 2, bottom load. It is designed for colt mags and has LRBO. Works fine in my AR lower with PSA 9mm upper and bolt.
  9. Loaded up some rounds with CCI primers (normally I use S&B) and tested them today. 100 of 100 fired with no issue. Going to run a side-by-side test with CCI reloads, wolf factory and S&B reloads to confirm the S&B and Wolf primers were the culprit.
  10. First time I've seen that! How old is the press and approximately how many rounds through it?

    Similarity.....?

Perhaps I just have bad luck, however in the last several years I have experienced- sights launching themselves into the stratosphere, broken trigger return spring, firing pin & spring assembly eject themselves from the upper and case/head separation, leaving the case in the barrel. These were all on non-Open guns. Provided you can find all the parts (in the case of spontaneous ejection), these repairs are doable in the field. I prefer to have an extra/backup just in case, so I'm not gunsmithing under pressure, on the clock. If I'm traveling for 4+ hours to a major match, you better believe I'll bring some sort (perhaps not identical model) of backup gun Ideally yes, some of us less well off folks just have to 'make do' In the absence of having an identical spare pistol, I'll take one that is relatively close. No reason a SP01 cannot be a backup to a Shadow. Or a Shadow 2 a backup to a Shadow1, or Shadow backup to accu-Shadow, or TS backup to TSO, etc. etc. etc.

    Similarity.....?

The Shadow 2 is based off of the 75 series design. While not exactly the same most full size, metal 75 series pistols will be similar to the S2. Price range is $450-600, depending on model. Another benefit of getting a SP01 or other 75 series pistol is that most of your parts will interchange also; not so much with the Stock 2. If you want identical, you'll need to get another S2.
  13. The new design (I believe it is version 2 or 'B') is a two piece unit that installs from the bottom top. No need to remove any parts from the lower (first gen required removal of the bolt catch pin) and it comes out by depressing a spring loaded button.
  14. If you are looking for an adapter for Colt style mags, I would recommend the Promag one. Their magazines are sh*t, however I have this adapter and it has worked flawlessly. LRBO functions too. $50 well spent.
  15. Are you using the small or large wheel? I run both 9mm and .40 through my case feeder on low speed, using the small wheel and it runs 100%. Just have it sitting on the black tube from the 650, not bolted to the tube or wall.
  16. Tommy- since the cocking lever doesn't require much in the way of precision, I'd suggest using a vise to push it on/off or a punch if that doesn't work.
  17. Depends on the load you are using (major or Minor + powder). 10-12 lbs is common for 9mm minor. CZ-USA, CZ Customs, Cajun and Wolf sell recoil springs, to name a few. I used a punch and BFH to replace the rear sight on my SP01. After that debacle, I picked up a sight pusher ($40'ish) and have used it to install/adjust several sights. Best $40 I've spent on gun related tools yet.
  18. Looking to pickup a few extra Grams followers for my .40 TS. I've got quite a few extra mag springs, otherwise I'd just order the follower/spring set. Where can I purchase just the followers without the mag springs? P.S. I checked Grams website...no-go on just followers.
  19. Nice bit of design/engineering @Baltimoreed! I like the simplicity and design of the AR9mm charging handle. I might try to mimic that on my PCC when I've got more spare time.
  20. Interesting design concept you developed! Care to share any additional pics of this setup?
  21. When my shell plate main bolt (large allen) backed out a small amount, it would cause enough misalignment for cases to occasionally not feed into station one with nudging with your finger. P.S. I have the roller bearing under the shell plate also.
  22. A couple of the 550 parts are the same as on the 650. For example the 9mm powder funnel ( #F Powder Funnel - # 13806) is the same part number between the 550 and the 650. Below are links to the PNs for all 550 and 650 caliber conversions. It may be cheaper to just buy the 650 quick change (powder dispenser, die, toolhead and stand) versus individual parts, but check for yourself. http://dillonprecision.com/docs/caliberconversioncharts/XL_650_Caliber_Conversion_Chart.pdf http://dillonprecision.com/docs/caliberconversioncharts/450_and_550_Series_Caliber_Conversion_Charts.pdf
  23. I run S&B SPPs for all the handgun loads I make on the 650. Only light strikes I have had are with my Grand Power. Still trying to figure out if it is the ammo or the gun. Happens very infrequently, so not an easy malfunction to pin down.
  24. Another no-pin-wet-tumbler here! Deprime (only because I'm a touch OCD and don't want the primer/powder residue all over my press) Wet tumble with a touch of lemishine for 1-1.5 h Rinse w/hot water Add synthetic car wax (petro based wax can turn to sludge) and tumble for ~15-30 min Air dry for 1-3 days I mainly do this during the cold season when I'm not shooting as much. I have a pretty good stash going into the spring/summer competition season.
  25. Recently read that there are new ammo related laws coming into force in 2018 in California. For those that live there, what impact does this have on your reloading options?
