2011 Shooting Goals?

G-ManBart

Recommended Posts

1) To spend more time with my family and use the 30' Travel trailer to camp a TON this year.

2) To ride my motorcycle more. Poor thing has pretty much been dormant all of last year which is HIGHLY unusual for me.

3) To be a better example in everything I do for our almighty God, the author of life.

4) To be a better ambassador for the USPSA sport.

5) To win my class in every larger match I attend (TX Championshiop, Doubletap, A3) and be within 90% of the overall winner.

Bring it on

You go Blkbrd!

Now my 2011 Goals.

Shoot more 2-Gun & 3-Gun and have more fun that 90% of the Shooters.

Break the addiction to buying new gear and guns, learn to shoot what I got.

Receive no Class Cards in the Mail, just enjoy Shooting Matches at my current level.

Go to major matches and be lucky in the drawings. Enjoy the local food, make some new friends and have major fun.

Knock the honeydew list out, while continuing to shoot every Saturday and Sunday.

I think these are all possible except the last one and well you can't have everything!

Win limited division in a major multi-gun match with little or no facial hair.

I have read that it is fairly difficult to do so but one day, I might be able to grow more. :roflol:

Make "B" in Production.

Make "A" in Production

These will require achieving sub-goals, including:

Faster reloads

Faster transitions from target to target

Quicker moving from position to position

(You'll notice all of these involve time. My hits are there - I just need to accomplish them quicker)

Oh yeah - the most important: Have FUN!

In this order:

- Enjoy the time spent on range with my friends

- Open my mind and eyes up more to what's going on in my hands

- Learn something new everyday.

Work hard, have fun

Live fire and dry fire practice more

Shoot as many matches as my budget and work schedule will allow

Work on the mental aspect of my game

Shoot to my potential at major matches

All of this will enable me to make Master in Limited.

Finally joined a private club in my area.

Overall goals are to make A in Production and Master in SSP. Hopefully practicing twice a month will be enough. I made B and EX with only practicing once every month or so and shooting a match or two a month, so with an actual training partner and practice schedule I think I will be able to improve quickly.

  • 3 weeks later...

Don't get DQed ,I say that at my first and only match I watched a guy get DQ and I'm not sure why it happened. No one talked about it so I did not ask. I just when slow and safe.

Get qualfied at the start of 2011 and move up a class .

Short term goal: A class in Production. Long term: Master in production.

However, the real goal is not a letter on a card. That means nothing. The real goal is to continue to evolve as a shooter and shoot at a higher level. The real overall goal is to master this art of shooting.................... (And have alot of fun with some great people too  )

Continue to have fun

Hang out with like minded people at matches

Shoot a few more 3 gun matches

Get an AR

Try to get more range time and dry fire practice

Make A in Open and limited

Shoot a few big matches

Work out more

Eat more Cheerios

End my relationship with my little white friends that come 20 in a pack.

Make decent progress towards B class in Revolver Division. :)

Return to the Memphis Charity Challenge and take the top spot in the "speedloader" category with my Ruger Alaskan. Is this in effect "Ice skating uphill"...Yes. Is it impossible....No. Here I come. ;)
