  1. I wouldn't mind seeing what all they did, if you could send us some pics.
  2. Fire4efects has done three of my dads TS. Will does great work and if you dont want his standard milling look, he will work with you to get you something you want. Also from what I understand will has come up with a pretty sick way for multiple optics mounting with interchangeable blocks or something like that. I dont keep up with the slide mounted optic stuff like I should, i shoot open.
  3. I would say that if Will Wingfield would build you a open TS, he would put whatever comp you want on it. Infact my dad has three limited guns from him and on his third on I designed all the slide lightning and he made it happen. Ended up with a slide that weighs a whopping 9oz and it shoots awsome.
  4. I have not personally shot a fire4efects open gun, but by the guns I have shot I would think the comp is inefficient. I finde for me the most effective comps are the binary comps. Although the SVI infinity only uses a 2 port comp with 4 popple holes in 38 sc which I would 2 popple holes for 9 major would be better.
  5. Give Will Wingfield at fire4efects a call or a email. He may still make you one. I know he said he would build me a full open gun if I wanted.
  6. I would check with Shooters World on the labeling. As for my loads I'm using 10 grains of Major pistol with a 124 grain bullet to make a 173 power factor. I do notice that with out the two 3/16th popple holes in the barrel I'm at a 183 power factor. this is on a glock 34 build with a binary style comp. My over all length is at 1.140 and there are no signs of over pressure.
  7. I'm using Shooters World Clean Shot in 9 minor and 40s&w. Clean Shot is very similar to Titegroup in burn rate but much cleaner. I'm also using Shooters World Major Pistol in my 9mm major loads, this one is a lot like AA#7. 9mm in both major and minor im useing a 124 grain bullet and 40 I'm using a 200 grain bullet and I'm going to try 165s.
  8. Clean shot is great powder, very similar to titegroup I. Every way but it's much cleaner. I use 3.2 grains qith a 145 grain dgbullet in my 9mm g34 and I make a 140 power factor. I also us major pistol in my 9mm major rounds in a glock 34 open gu. that I just built. I'm using 9.6 grains to make a 175 power factor with a 124 grain dgbullet. Major pistol is almost identical to aa7 in every way but once again major is much cleaner.
  9. My dad loads it his cz tso 40. He loves it. It's very similar to titegroup and the load data is similar as well. Shoots very clean too.
  10. I always shot production with a Johnny glock trigger at 2 pounds and I've never ben sent home for it. Now it's been awhile from the last time I shot production but I dont think there is a trigger weight limit in production.
  11. I always use a lytton custom holsters with a modified boss hangerhanger. Super ridged with alot of adjustment in it. In fact I use the same setup on my open gun holster, limited, production, and revolver holster setups, all by lytton. The only complaint I have with my boss hangers is, the part that extends down sits on my hip and without padding my hip bone gets very sore. Lytton also has a life time warranty on all his holsters.
  12. I'm in the same boat, as I'm starting in open soon. My question is what's the advantage of having a 3 port comp with a few pople holes versus having a comp with more ports?
  13. I have the same issue. I have decided to live with it as I dont shoot any sport that requires the slide to lock back.
  14. Steve Anderson has some books out that may help you out. Steve Anderson shooting
  15. If I were in your shoes I would take the g22 put a frame weight, big ass magwell, good sights, and a Johnny glock trigger. Slap some springer precision mag extensions on and you'll have a pretty good limited gun. DCPRECISIONLLC makes the heaviest frame weight I have seen at 10 oz.
  16. Save your self alot of time and get a Johnny glock custom trigger. Its money well spent. #teamjohnnyglocks
  17. Will Wingfield at fire4efects is doing milling for the shadow2. Je does excellent work.
  18. Do you have a compensator on your gun? If so you might not be shooting a hot enough round. I shoot 124 grain dg bullets with 7.6 grains of cfe puts me at a 176 power factor. 11 pound recoil spring and a 4 pound striker spring.
  19. I ordered one to try as well. It may take the spring to break in a bit before you get that extra round in it. I down load my mags by one anyways
  20. I shot 160s all last year at 3.0 grains of titegroup and it put me at a 137 power factor out of my g34. They shot well but always seemed low for my point of aim. I now shoot145s.
  21. I have shot 3.2 grains of titegroup on a 135 grain dgbullet, which is a coated bullet. In my glock 34 this made 135 power factor. I was running mixed brass with cci primers and OAL of 1.140. I now shoot 3.0 grains of titegroup on a 145 grain dgbullet for a 135 power factor and every thing else is the same. I'm also running my bullets at .356 size. I have a buddy running 115 grain dgbullets in his major open gun and they work great, I'm not sure of his load. He shoots out of a custom built cz sp01. We have played with my loads in a PCC and they seem to shoot really well. They also shoot great out of my 929 revolver but the PF drops to a 128.
  22. Open is a blast even tho I've only shot it three times or so. As for the bullets my teammate is running a cz sp01 that he built to open and he is shooting major 9 with 115 grain DG bullets with out and buildup issues. His gun runs fast, flat, and clean. This is just the example that I have messed with and it may very with what others have noticed. I shoot limited minor and soon to be limited major but plan to take open up in the future.
  23. I shoot mixed brass out of my 929. I did have problems with my bullets walking out of the brass on recoil no matter how I crimped them, so I ended up getting a lee under size 9mm sizing die. So now I deprime and size on a load master, stage one is a standard 9mm sizing die and stage three is the 9mm undersized die. Now when I load on my 659 I just have enough crimp to take the bell out from the bullet feeder. My 929 never has a problem running with all the mixed brass that I use and on a reload the just fall in. I'm running 145 grain DGbullets at a .356, with 3.1 grains of titegroup at a 1.140 OAL. It's a 130power factor out of my gun without the comp.
  24. I get it, when we came up with a design for my limited gun,we wanted to add a much weight as possible and it was another spot to put weight. Really would help alot in CO. Does CO have a weight limit?
  25. My limited gun has tungsten packed I. The backstrap aswell.
