  1. Weren't the bulk packs #8 shot in the past? 3 Dram 1 1/8 ounce loads of 7 1/2's is a good load. If the crimp on the shells are consistent you should be fine.
  2. Another vote for the Tilley Airflow here.
  3. Realistically, not a thing. Just ignorant politicians demonizing inanimate objects instead of demons.
  4. Getting 5 shooters to commit to it is the biggest stumbling block. Look at where the Sportsman Team Challenge has gone.
  5. Thank you to all the people that worked to put this match on. Had a great time, stages were straight forward and very challenging.
  6. The Brownells 3 gun bag I have has been holding up for several years. Zippers are still good, fabric is getting dirty, but that's all. I have the 48" and it fits my SKB Golf Club Case for flying.
  7. I've clamped mags at the same height for years, never had an ejection issue. The mags should both be at the proper feeding height for the AR.
  8. I put a .156 steel riser under my Hi Viz Comp front. The 10-22 rear wasn't good for me, even after I widened and deepened the notch. I look through old parts and found a Novak Lo Mount, that I milled to fit the smaller dovetail. It works much better for me.
  9. Had a guy on my squad with an SBR last year. Shooting under a metal roof on the 300 yard range was brutal! Plugs and muffs are not enough, the timer wasn't happy either.
  10. Kurt, If you had recommended Federal paper hulled shells, I wouldn't have been surprised.
  11. The most important factor on shotgun ammo is the crimp. If the crimp is smooth and properly formed it should run without issues. Winchester Universal is the worst I've encountered for crimps. Some of it wouldn't chamber in my over/under without being pushed into the chamber. It was fine after being run through an old Mec 650 and recrimped.
  12. I deepen the cuts with a 1/8" end mill, maybe .030 deeper. The polish with a Scotch Brite wheel. May not be as easy to load, but, it shouldn't break either.
  13. You have no idea how much it hurt to have backed out. Had I been able to drive, I'd have shot, sick or not.
  14. I set it up for the highest magnification in prone. My head can move much easier when standing than when in prone. I also have Luth adjustable stocks on 2 rifles, and raised up the "cheek rest" on another using bicycle handle bar wrap instead of the foam tube normally used.
  15. You're opinion may be becoming obsolete, but, your experience is not. Most of my AR's weigh a bit more than 8 pounds with the optic.
  16. Lube the snot out of it! When an AR doesn't want to feed, when it previously did, squirt some lube into the holes on the side of the bolt carrier, work it back and forth a few times, then more lube. It's a new bolt, and carrier, most gas rings have some roughness on the outside diameter from the stamping process. For some reason, I prefer to charge with the bolt down, and then work the charge handle to strip the first round. Just something to try.
  17. Are the rosewood grips checkered? If they are, keep them, and have a classy single stack. Disclaimer, I'm old and like fancy checkered wood grips on a 1911.
  18. Burn rate is not optimal for light bullets. It will be better for heavier, long distance loads. I like your bonsai.
  19. I was really hoping to see a 1/8 at this link. Anyone know a company making a 1/8 308AR (16")? Why do you want a 8 inch twist?
  20. Black Hole Weaponry. Lot's of different contours, and 3 different rates of twist.
  21. I use a V Tac sling with the butt stock adapter, with a swivel stud on the mag clamp. It's the same sling I use on my rifles.
