BTW, there are moldable silicone? earplugs that are comfortable and reusable, also used by swimmers. Mine came in a small box as a single chunk good for making about 10 pieces. I just pull a piece and use it for several months. Alone, they're good enough to shoot Open Major indoors.I put them on at start of the match, and muffs only for the stage. -
Ask a shooting buddy what they think you're doing in live fire. Do you feel tense? Plugs with muffs surely helps.

During off season, we regularly shoot at A5 / half of US Letter - old printouts, stapled on top of A zone. It’s on the the paper or doesn’t count. Not exactly a direct help against distractions but clearly defines POA. Bonus - just staple next paper on top an paste errors only.

Where are your eyes before the buzzer goes off?

For iron sights, I look at first target, but no focus - relaxed eyes. Then my perception of the focus change feels better and faster a tiny amount. -
I usually flip the button over, but have no troubles using index finger with SP-01 and extended Tanfoglio. My 2011 - also extended - is not reversed.

I use buffers that looks like they’re made from polyurethane on 9mm and 10mm Stock II and Stock III. I would replace the buffer after 5,000 rounds. It’s probably good till 10,000. DPM systems on Stock III, Limited Custom, and CZ SP-01 otherwise.

I just drilled from the outside in the place that looked like the center of the lower radius - for a plastic guide rod. Works for me.

Gun lubrication for shooting in cold weather was discussed a lot. What about cold - below 10C / 50F and rainy weather? New to 2011, my STI SteelMaster runs beautifully with FP-10 or Gun Butter. I was shooting in a 10C weather recently - no problem until a moderate rain started. After about 30min of shooting small drills and going back and forth between the box and tent, slide started to slow down and gun progressed to FTE and FTF. The SteelMaster is a nice tight fit, but my other CZ-based Open guns with relatively more slide to frame free play works in rain just fine with the same oils for hours. I also saw quite a bit of STI owners - running 40 cal. Limited Major - having similar problems in competitions on rainy days. Should I just keep adding more oil to rails during training or match? Any special treat to mags?

The race holster is about looks and no finish wear on the gun! Just two spots on trigger guard.

I would try raising PF a little and/or a weaker recoil spring.

Similar, even more pronounced strikes like that on a new Stock II 10mm. I would say the firing pin is not retracting back on a timely manner, but it appears to work just fine on table. Puzzling.

Open division guys run comp. Comp is a muzzle break, ports are not.

Upper gun on the second photo is BinaryEng titanium comp with cone adapter. Lower one is a copy of it from stainless steel with cone added - one piece, as seen on the first photo. Asked a friend to machine it for me on professional CNC tools.
