  1. Get your gun built by someone experienced building 9's, you'll have no problem with reliability. Best day shooting open was the first match after rebarreling it in 9mm.
  2. Cajun Gun Works. Canik trigger pin.
  3. I ordered 40 tubes from Brownells. I read couple months ago that they were shipping the new style. I'm on vacation, so haven't laid eyes on them yet.
  4. I brought that up in another thread, and was told that it's not really happening. The USPSA list of top 20 in each division & class shows only a handful of PCC GMs & Ms. But I see how it could happen on a case by case basis. It's anecdotal. "I know a guy that knows a D shooter that made PCC GM."
  5. Wow. I've used Grams forever, but have 3 new STI tubes coming. May try the TTI this time.
  6. Can't do it. One gun for the match, unless it breaks & you get MD approval.
  7. Learn how to use a tourniquet & Quick Clot, carry them, at the minimum for life saving gear. Antiseptic & band aids for boo boos. Gloves for setting steel with wet paint to keep a fancy steel grip looking nice. A rule book. Extra batteries & hex wrench if shooting open, FO rod & a lighter for other divisions. I started using my 3gun cart for all matches. I don't know how I carried everything before.
  8. I had the same thoughts. 12 in a day is about the max I want to tackle. But a 2 day is twice the expense, & twice the burden on staff.
  9. Just get the JPoint Glock mount at Brownells. No adapter needed.
  10. Perhaps S&W 3rd Gen., like a 5906.
  11. Same observation on lens size. My Venom was the 3moa, though. The Viper reminds me of the FFIII.
  12. I don't think the there is enough, if any, cost savings to use plated over jacketed. I like Blue Bullets 147 RN. Little smoke indoors, none that I notice outdoors. Reduce your load, then chronograph until you get between 130-135 PF. I use a 9# ISMI recoil spring and 15# mainspring if I use Federal primers, 17# for anything else. With a 9mm, you will be closer to the weight limit, so use a steel recoil rod if you can, aluminum if you must, tungsten if your lucky. You can mill some weight out of the slide to reduce reciprocating mass. Than should lessen muzzle rise. I'd suggest with 9mm, grip it harder.
  13. Check the over travel screw in the trigger. If it's set too far, the trigger can't travel far enough to trip the sear.
  14. A hillbilly 155 is an STI 126mm tube with a Dawson Para basepad. I get 25 reloadable. It is a favorite mag, just right.
  15. I made my own from Safariland 771 pouches. I unscrewed the pouch body from the belt loop, drilled holes on the spine of the pouch bodies, then screwed them back onto the belt loops. This was before anyone made bullets-out pouches. I still use them for open/limited.
  16. Friend at SS Nationals years ago. They couldn't clear it, but we're able to get the slide off the frame. Bagged 2 halves separately. Don't remember what the malfunction was.
  17. Original Delta Point on a Primary Machine mount on a Tanfoglio Limited Pro. Discontinued sight on a discontinued mount on a discontinued pistol. Wish I could have another of each.

You could buy a used STI Eagle for $1300. Better resale, better support.
  19. I started in USPSA, switched to mostly 3 gun, and now back to mostly USPSA. Scoring was not a factor in any of it. I don't see major/40 becoming obsolete ever. Too much investment made in equipment in the last 20+ years. Kinda like production, it's fine, don't !@#$ with it. Nothing prevents limited minor with a 23 round mag. If you think it's an advantage, good on ya. Prove it. I've been wrong before. Be kinda cool to see the Nats won with a limited minor gun. I won't hold my breath.
  20. I like minor SS for anything but the SS Nat'ls. Stage planning like the production shooters. Get good mags, use good ammo, pay attention to extractor tension. A 9mm should run just fine.
  21. 9 Grams follower is the same as the 38, except it is shorter, to accomodate the spacer sitting behind it. Spacer mags, get the 9, old SV and new STI, get the 38.
  22. Feel free to browse the classified & search what you're looking for, you just can't post there until you get 50 useful posts in the rest of the forum. Welcome, where you from, what do you shoot?
