  1. Did you guys PSA guns come with regular 223 buffers & springs? I thought it was odd it didn't come with a heavier buffer.
  2. Is it failing to feed, or is the bullet chambering, but is too long? It sounds like the round is failing to feed, is slamming into the barrel face, causing bullet set back in the case, is that correct? Buddy has a PSA factory built lower with a KVP barreled upper, with the exact problem. We're experimenting with buffer springs, heavier/lighter buffers, & changing OAL lengths. The factory lower he has came with standard weight AR buffer & spring. He was trying Federal FMJ that was 1.155".
  3. I had to do the same thing with my LimPro.
  4. Buddy built a Glock-style lower on a Palmetto, and the Taccom ULW barrel with the integral Glock feed ramp and their bolt. Thing runs like a sewing machine. I was impressed with his build's performance.
  5. For best reliability, stick with factory Glock mags. The ETS mags are known not to always drop free. Pmags work ok, but are noticibly lighter & may have to be pulled out. Their big stick isn't out yet, & will only be 27 rounds. Glock mags go on sale frequently so no reason not to use originals.
  6. After I changed the striker spring to a Glock 6#, I was able to change the recoil spring to a Glockstore tungsten rod with a 15# spring. Feels perfect now. I'll check into changing the striker plunger spring next.
  7. Look for an Elite Limited. The best Ltd. gun Tanfoglio offers. It's SAO, adjustable rear sight, ambi safeties, mag well, bull barrel, long dust cover, FO front sight.
  8. I shot the Canik in a match tonight. It is way over sprung for production loads. First order of business will be to get a lighter recoil spring in it. A tungsten guide rod would be nice. I read someone was putting some weight under the back strap insert, will look into that too. It is very accurate and points very well. Finding the dot was never a problem. Guys that played with it were really impressed with the trigger reset. I tend to slap the trigger, but I'd really like to learn to take advantage of that reset. My Taylor Freelance CZ mag extensions came in, but I didn't have a chance to use them tonight. Using the stock spring & follower, I got 22, tightly. I will look at modifying the follower to try get 1 more, or put in Grams kits. I talked a guy at the club into getting a DK trigger for his G34 gen4. He said the Canik trigger out of the box was much better.
  9. Internal non-visible trigger work is legal. You can't replace the trigger itself with an after market trigger (yet).
  10. If you get a slide milled for an optic, you are married to that optic, so make it a good one. With choices like the Canik, Walther Q5, Glock MOS, M&P Core, you can mount several different optics on a plate, or go back to Iron sights for production. I like that versatility. My main CO gun is an EAA Limited Pro with a Primary Machine dovetail mount and a 1st gen. Leupold Delta Point. Unfortunately, all three are discontinued. But you can get similar steel guns from Tangfolio or CZ. I just picked up the Canik TP9SFX, & mounted a Vortex Viper. CZ extended base pads fit on it. It has an amazing trigger for a plastic gun, smokes a Glock trigger out of the box. Going to try it out tomorrow in my indoor practice match. So far, it looks promising.
  11. I got my guide rod apart today too. A little heat was the trick. I concur that Glock springs inside diameter is too small for the stock rod, & regular 1911 springs are too big. I don't really want to spend $80 on a Springco if I can get a couple pound lighter spring to work on this rod.
  12. I have the Bladetech SRB. I had to back the tension screws out.
  13. Just got one. It feels like a Glock's slide to frame fit. It fits my G34 Bladetech holster perfectly. Only issue I had was mounting the Viper on the #1 mounting plate. Instructions said to use the screws that come with the optic. They are way too big to snug down in the helicoils in the plate. I had a couple smaller screws from another mount that worked fine. Love this trigger!
  14. I tried using 1911 mainsprings. Plentiful & cheap. 15# was the lightest I had. I didn't have a gauge at the time, but it was noticeably lighter than stock. I got a really nice DA pull, but it would not set off any brand primer. I think a XL firing pin would help, but did not know of any at the time. I finally gave up. The geometry of the Sig trigger doesn't allow super light hammer springs.
  15. We haven't done that in the last 2 years the match has been back. They do a background check on you with the info you provide (you should have gotten an email about it).
  16. Think he's talking about the mag catch that holds the mag slightly higher in the gun to get the round closer to in-line with the chamber to aid feeding. Popular with 9 & 40 single stacks, I've not had a problem with 45.
  17. Sorry, should have mentioned, I have one. For all the reasons I said. How is it misleading? If your ammo is a given velocity in a pistol, it should be very similar in this barrel since it's going through 5.5" of rifling. So you can use the same production division ammo in your pistol & PCC. I perceive the dot bounces a little, but settles quickly. Time wise, similar to a 16" gun. But target transitions are fast, & it doesn't want to overswing. Try the barrel. If you don't like it, it will sell quickly on the classified.
  18. 9mm burns it's powder charge in 5-8" of barrel, so a 16" barrel could actually make the bullet slower as it leaves the muzzle, depending on the powder used. A bullet travelling in a barrel without any burning powder behind it is inefficient. Accuracy is a function of the rifling imparting twist on the bullet, thereby stabilizing it's flight. If the bullet is stabilized in 5.5" of rifled barrel, it's as mechanically accurate as it ever going to get. Rifles with a true rifle caliber are burning lots more powder, therefore it's more efficient to have more rifling. As to recoil, it is a bit more bouncy, but transitions are so much faster. Do Bill drills til you get the timing down, it rocks. The PCC Nat'ls were won with a similar barrel set up. I tried shooting a buddy's 16" with a 15" Keymod handguard. Felt like pushing a battle ship left to right.
  19. If you mount the Railway all the way forward, or all the way back, you should have 4 or 5 slots left. Mine is all the way back, & I'm thinking of putting a laser in front of it.
  20. How about the new M&P Compact, that is G19 sized?
  21. Those HOA indicate that Eric Grauffel scored highest in open but couldn't be National Champ because he wasn't from our region. All those winners on the left, are Americans. Same for Steve Broom being a champ, but Grauffel scoring higher than him overall IN THE DIVISION. USPSA doesn't recognize HOA across divisions. But yeah, what do I know.
  22. As to the premise of the need to somehow throttle the PCC guys to keep them out of the top 10, whatever. I'm only shooting against PCC. It is 8 different matches going on simultaneously. I wish Practiscore wouldn't even show it. All it does it get such useful threads like this started.
  23. Hammer, you must have gone to a COMPLETELY different RO course than the rest of us. So wrong in so many ways. There is no such thing as HOA awarded to anyone. It is a fiction that Practiscore shows for S&G's. USPSA doesn't even bother, cause it means nothing but ego stroke. And, yes indeed, things need a rule number to back them up. Our opinions on how something should be mean nothing without a rule number. And, how you interpreted Chuck's logic, well, that makes no sense.
  24. Yes. You get zeros for the other stages not shot. Classifier gets submitted.
