  1. Now this sounds more like my speed, any more detail on your potion? Midway caries both the Foul Out system and the chemicals alone. You use different solutions for lead and copper.
  2. 540 was the same as HS-6. 571 was the same as HS-7.
  3. I was in a shop today that the owner got a Bridgeport EZ-Trak CNC knee mill for 4k at an auction over a year ago. Was in good shape except the computer wouldn't boot. I installed a new computer and machine is running like a champ. Also updated software but that really wasn't required. He didn't have a manual and I had a PDF file of the manual for the new software.
  4. The only problem with getting lots of bullets is carrying the up the stairs to my apt. I only have 4 more cases to bring up now.
  5. I had a Dawson 3 port on a major 9. Took it off and put the normal Dawson comp on ( 4 port w/ side ports on the end chamber ). Liked it much better.
  6. Bob's son and the CTRPC club members purchased the parts to build an open gun. The frame had a custom serial number that was Bob's birthdate. Dave Dawson contributed the labor and build a Signature Series Mini-gun Stroker and had it hard chromed. The next match Dawson shows up with the pistol. Dave asked Bob to shoot the gun in the match because it needed to be broken in. Bob does as Dave asked and shot very well. After the match Bob goes to give the pistol back. Dave takes it, looks at the serial number and says that STI got the serial number wrong and hands the pistol back to Bob and tells him he might as well keep it. That is the short and dirty version
  7. I use a laptop velcro'd to the center console in my truck and either MS Streets and Trips or Delorme Road Atlas. But I use the laptop for work anyway.
  8. I always enjoyed shooting with Bob. He was fun to shoot with and great to just talk with. He will be missed.
  9. Dawson did a 9mm/38super set up for Marisa a while back.
  10. I think that is why you don't see to many zero bullets available right now. They are waiting until they can make a fortune when the lead prices go down and their prices stay the same. Actually they have had several very large orders from ammo companies that have taken most of the production. Fiocchi ordered several million 9mm's to load. Also even with the increase in orders they have not added a second shift. I doubt the wisdom of not expanding the workforce to meet current demand, but they don't like to hire workers on a temporary basis. They try to keep people for the long run. Just my $0.02.
  11. I have not seen the tungsten mag well, but I have brass Dawson Ice magwells on three different open guns and like them a bunch.
  12. You could buy a Spartan from Dawson and have him send it to hard chrome. He can also do any tuning or modifications you want. The Spartan's are really good pistols.
  13. I am deeply offended by your remarks. As a previously, sometimes drunken sailor, I have never spent Billions or even Millions of dollars like this. I'll not mention how I voted, but I did vote.
  14. I load 8.4 gr of Sil w/ a Zero 125 jhp in 38SC. Gives me around 1360 fps.
  15. I am fairly certain that the front dovetail will take a Sig brand front sight, though I don't have the gun here to check. Have one EERW? I have heard of the Heine Slant Pros being modified to fit in such a way that it looks factory. sorry ..no gun handy.. I'm sure Dawson would be willing to make a sight to fit if he had a request. It would just be editing a part program. Then you could have fiber front and rear or night sights or whatever you wanted.
  16. The Makarov uses a different bullet dia. .365 instead of .355. You'll have to get a new set of dies.
  17. I would vote for double knee capping followed by dominant elbow, but I'm just feeling generous and compassinate today.
  18. The .40's test fired at Dawson's are fired using factory length ammo.
  19. I have a box of Speer 200 gr JHP's from about 20 years ago. What is the stock number of the "flying ashtray"? That's probably what these are. It is easy to tell if it is a flying ashtray. Take a pencil with eraser, if the eraser fits in the hollow point it is a flying ashtray.
  20. To continue the drift, I'm actually trying to sell a machine tool to a company so they can bring the work back from China. The machinist I'm working with figures, on paper so far, they can save around 100k in the first year by doing the machining themselves. I just need them to sign the p.o.
  21. Yes, yes you do. It only takes one mishap and you don't get issued spare eyes.
  22. I would call Dawson and talk to them. Either the sight is out of spec or the dovetail is oversize.
  23. AAAAAGGGHHHH, my eyes, my eyes. Quick I need the brain floss.
