  1. The choices for barrels for the tactical is shrinking. I replaced mine a year ago and I had limited choices. I was able to find a threaded Storm Lake barrel on clearance at Midway for a good price but they are gone now. My original barrel had about 12k on it and then something happened to it. It started keyholing bad with almost every type of ammo I put through it (reloads, factory and reman). Still not sure what the hell happened. My Service in 9 has about 15k through it and still shoots good. If accuracy isn't up to par and you have tried different loads I'd look for a new barrel.
  2. I am considering a new pistol for next year. As much as I would like a real 2011 style pistol I'm not sure I can justify the cost. Is there any must read posts about these guns instead of sitting through all 55 pages? I am considering one in 9mm most likely to use for USPSA, 3gun and Steel Challenge.
  3. Extremely unlikely. MOA Precision does offer a spring for lower recoil loads but that is even stated at 1145fps.
  4. I'm only 5' 7" and I run my stock all the way out... however I like the fixed A2 stock on my 3gun rifle so that might explain things. I honestly haven't experimented much so next practice session I will give it a whirl.
  5. Just got the regular kit and now this comes out...I haven't even shot my rifle with it in it yet. Will be doing tomorrow...guess I gotta order one of these now.
  6. I find the bigger mags harder to reload. For classifiers I use the 21rd Pmags and they fly in and out of the gun. I don't run a magwell yet but can put down some really fast reloads. I keep the gun on shoulder and just slightly cant the gun. Going to pick up a magwell soon so that might change.
  7. While I can't see myself buying one of those Endo Mag conversions since I am setup for Glock Mags already...I can say that looks cool as hell.
  8. For those not depriming have you had any issues with primers not punching out? I've heard issues.
  9. I also seriously considering the bullet feeder to make things easier and less wear on my body. Probably will be a Christmas present for myself. Planning on putting one of the USB Android cameras on the tool head to make powder verification easy. I have a spare phone I can dedicate to it.
  10. What about the regular generation of the service? Will that fit or be close? I am going to be trying to get my relatives into shooting more and IDPA is a little less daunting in terms of stages compared to USPSA. I haven't shot IDPA in several years and don't really have any good guns for it other than that XD. CCP is appealing to me as I would be using my carry gear for it.
  11. Thanks just ordered one going to give it a try.
  12. Does the buffer system they sell now for $89 include the adjustable return cushion or just the standard one? Wondering if I need to add the $15 part. Thanks
  13. I will tell you shooting weak hand for the first few times on the clock I had a seriously hard time finding the dot...yah I had some mikes. I found in my case if I close my right eye slightly shooting weak hand I can always find the dot every time, your mileage may vary. Normally shooting dots I shoot both eyes open with no issues.
  14. The tip of my Taccom broke off. It was promptly replaced. The replacement appears to be heat treated of sorts and is working well. I have 2 spares in my range bag. Need to get some spare springs..didn't think of that.
  15. This is the exact setup I am running. I did however break a firing pin at around 600 rounds. Not sure if it was due to the hammer force or not. New pin has about 800 rounds on it now.
  16. Lucked out in the rain department, it only sprinkled a few times they originally projected some serious amounts of rain. I still did however before the match put a nice square of skate tape that almost went all the way around the tube. Gun ran great...operator needs work ? Still managed 4th out of 12 with a pro taking the top spot. Need to practice shooting on the move more and keep that rifle solid while doing so...will help me pick up more time.
  17. I think I have some down in my workshop, I'll throw a little on to be safe tonight. Thanks
  18. I purchased one of the complete Taccom uppers with the carbon fiber handguards. I really like the weight and the diameter of it. I was worried at first that it was going to be a little slick or something...but the texture of the carbon fiber is quite nice even when your hands are sweaty or a little wet. I will find out how it works in a good amount of rain tomorrow...staff day for a big match.
  19. I didn't spend JP level money but I went with a prebuilt upper and a prebuilt lower for simplicity sakes and compatibility. Taccom ULW PSA Billet Glock Lower (upgraded trigger to Hyperfire 24 3G). I have had good luck with both of them through the first 1000 rounds minus a broken firing pin which Taccom quickly replaced. Using both 21 and 17 round PMAGS as well as a Glock Mag with MBX Mini Extension.
  20. I am lucky to have 3 USPSA clubs that are 20-40 mins away from me. To be honest I really wouldn't drive an hour plus for a local match....but I might be spoiled. I have a 2 3gun clubs and 2 IDPA clubs within that same radius as well.
  21. My Taccom Firing pin that came with my ULW upper broke after only 600 or so rounds. Taccom kindly sent a replacement out at no charge but I haven't tried it yet, just showed up yesterday. Mine didn't break in half but the tip was broken off. Running a Hyperfire 24 3G trigger and my own reloads using Winchester SPP. Also ordered 2 CMMG firing pins to try out.
  22. Yah I totally jinxed myself I was talking to someone about 9mm broken firing pins about 5 minutes before it happened... I am going to order some CMMG firing pins for spares. Might grab a few Wilson ones as well. To make things worse all but one of the stages I shot I placed 1st or 2nd....garh. Happened on the 7th of 9 stages.
  23. Well that was quick Tim already responded and is taking care of me. Great service.
  24. The firing pin in my Taccom bolt that came with my ULW Upper broke today at a match. 2 stages left and I was shooting really good... Taccom is out of stock according to their site. I shot an email off to them to see if they had any. If they can't send one out right away does anyone know if other brands will work with the bolt? I only had about 600 rounds through the gun and it failed. So a little disappointing. Thanks
