  1. I just ordered a sample bag of 180gr Blue Bullets to try out in my Glock 35 I'm picking up. I have Titegroup and Unique on hand. Will most likely be running Federal primers as I'm going to be running a light striker spring (but will try out Winchesters as I have a bunch of those as well). Anyone have any load suggestions to get me started? I only have the Lee Manual and the power manufacturers sites which don't list anything for cast and these powders. Titegroup has load data for plated which I'm sure is close. Edit - I do have a chrono and will test in the super coldness and once it warms up retest before I crank out a bunch of rounds. I have a few indoor matches coming up soon. Thanks
  2. I went ahead and decided to get a Gen4 35 for a great deal. Will be starting to order in all the parts soon.
  3. Yah, I don't plan on adding a frame weight or thumb rest anytime soon so I think I will stick with a more traditional holster on a hanger.
  4. What holster would you guys recommend for limited? I'm about to pull the trigger on a Glock 35 Gen4 and add a few goodies for USPSA Limited. I also will be shooting it in Steel Challenge with a KKM 9mm conversion barrel eventually so I'm leaning towards race holster? DAA Racer maybe? They aren't too expensive. Bladetech/Comptac on a BOSS Hanger?
  5. I'd buy one if it was a deal, but for $30 more I can get a new one on Gunbroker that comes with 3 mags instead of 1...so aka cheaper/same price.
  6. Quick look at Gunbroker I think I'm going to abandon the idea of having a cheapo sight tracker and just get a 35. But the other parts are still in question.
  7. I have thought about joining GSSF for the 2 years and then getting the certificate to buy a G35. Recoil Gun works has trade in 35's for about $440 but they only come with 1 mag and have the department engraved on them so not a deal by any means. The Glock 26 I just got from Recoil last week I could barely tell it was ever shot. Only one tiny spot of finish wear otherwise looked brand new. Otherwise the few other G35's I've seen for sale on here are basically the same price as GSSF and don't include any upgrades. Guess I will hunt around on Gunbroker to see if I can find any deals.
  8. Yah the one I tried to buy but someone messaged him before I did...I was chatting with him via PM and then said someone else had messaged him first even after answering several of my questions. Kinda bummed about that.
  9. I'm strongly considering picking up a police trade in for $300.00 and turning it into a budget Limited/L10 build. My club is holding a limited capacity special match at the end of April and don't really have anything decent to shoot in it. Want to shoot L10 then regular Limited after that. Trying to pick up as many parts as I can (minus the first 3 items) off eBay or Amazon as I have about $400.00 through Swagbucks I can redeem for giftcards to either place and keep the budget as low as possible. Plans : Glock 22 - $340 after shipping and FFL fee TF Sight Block - $50.00 Lone Wolf Alpha Wolf 35 Threaded Barrel - $160 Magwell - Glockstore Big Mouth 4oz (can get off eBay $99.00) or something else but will come out of pocket. Sights - Dawson Black Rear - Fiber Front (several flavors available on Amazon) or TTI sights $70-80 - Not sure on height? Steel Guide Rod - Several brands on eBay for around $25-30 ZEV Spring Kit with Connector (eBay) Misc parts Extended OEM Mag release (ebay), Grip tape (or maybe stipple) and DIY undercut. Holster - CR Speed WSM II Holster One thing when considering magwell to keep costs down I'd like to use factory 15rd mags and not have to purchase baseplates (will buy +5 ones eventually fore regular limited). Going to check with Glockstore to see if they work with standard mags. Can get 5 trade in mags for about $55.00 delivered plus the one that comes with the gun so I'd be set there. Thoughts? If I end up liking the setup I'm going to buy an aftermarket slide and barrel for a 9mm top end so I can shoot Steel Challenge and 3gun with it.
  10. Tagging for outcome. I'm seriously considering ordering a trade in 22 and doing the same thing.
  11. For those wet tumbling without pins are you depriming still first? I ask as I do an inital tumble with no pins on deprimed 223 brass and I noticed a white substance in the primer pockets after they dry. Calcium maybe? Right now I'm only wet tumbling rifle brass. My process for 223 is deprime brass with universal decapper, throw in my dual drum HF tumbler with no pins, water, a splash of Lemishine and a squart of Dawn. Run for 75-90 mins and rinse. Once brass is processed I will wet tumble again with pins this time and the usual Dawn and Lemishine. Produces really nice looking brass. I only shoot 1000-1500 rounds of 223 a year so it's no biggie. Though I am going through and processing 5-6k worth of cases right now the slow painful single stage way....just to get my storage up so I don't have to reload it for several years. I'm looking to wet tumble my 9mm brass (will most likely need to move up to a bigger tumbler) and the pins are kind of a PITA. I've been getting a lot of brass at my home range that when it's damp or raining are just caked with dirt inside. I've stopped myself on many occasions as I'm putting a bullet on a case having to pull the case out as I see chunks of dirt caked to the walls inside of it.
  12. I'm curious about this as well. I would assume yes but not positive.
  13. I have a 650 mounted directly to my bench. The ceiling in my basement is pretty short 6.5' so mounting a press at standing height was out of the picture. It works out okay for me but I would prefer to stand if I could. I sit in front of a computer 80% of the day so it would be good for me to stand.
  14. American Reloading has WC844 on sale right now 15% off. Comes in at $208.24 for 16lbs shipped. I just placed an order and will give it a shot. Probably won't be till early spring as I have Tac to use up and want to work up with a Chrono. Don't want to to deal with that in the cold and snow.
  15. Hornady FMJ's are the same price and one of the best if not the best 55gr FMJ's. Hornady 55gr FMJBT
  16. This was my first year shooting Steel Challenge as there is only one local match to me (thankfully my own club). There is a morning and afternoon session and I shoot both. I shot RFRO and PCCO all season. I was shooting PCC in USPSA this year so that was an obvious choice. Next year I might switch one out for Production if I end up picking a Shadow 2 like I am thinking of. I like the cheap cost of rimfire and less reloading to do but we'll see. Currently sitting at an A in RFRO and B in PCCO with one match left on the season.
  17. I've seen some pictures online of people with the P120 on the scale and coming in at 42oz or less with magazine inserted. Am I missing something? I am thinking of moving to CZ platform and was going to get a Shadow 2 for USPSA and 3gun and then maybe a clone to dabble in IDPA with. P120 has caught my eye with a few minor upgrades. I was thinking with some lightweight grips, flush mags and maybe a polymer guide rod I would have no problems making weight. I don't want to buy one and not be able to use it and there is no one locally that stocks them that I know of.
  18. I really only use it when I'm on short hoser type stages as the reticle on my Strike Eagle turns into a jumbo red dot. I can just see paper and pull the trigger. It was a life saver on a hoser stage last year at the MI State Match. They had a stage in the shoot house that had all the lights off and windows covered with black tarps. The only lights on were crazy disco lights. Had I not had any illumination I'd have been screwed. No way I could have seen a black reticle in those light conditions.
  19. Thanks I will check with them when I go to order the short stroke kit.
  20. I have been waiting for the 27 rounders as well. I have 2 of the 21's and one 17. I love the 21 rounders for reloads they fly in and out of the gun. Before next season I will either pick up 3 more 21's or 5 of the 27's. I want the same mag weight for Steel Challenge...even though I'm not sure I could tell at this point.
  21. I am running the Taccom system in my PCC right now. I picked up a Smoke Composites light weight stock off a prize table yesterday and wanted to give it a shot. I will be adding the short stroke kit to the system soon as well. What kind of spacer or spring do I need to make this work?
  22. I've been fragged so many times it isn't funny...I'm a lead magnet. Today though I got it the worst, shooter running rimfire rifle on Accelerator I was running the tablet about 5ft behind the shooter. When he shot the 2nd plate a chunk of lead came straight back and hit me right it the lip cutting it open. I was okay after some gauze & pressure it stopped. I don't think banning FMJ is going to change much it's all about the targets. I think most of ours are MGM and are on their first season... however a few of the plates might have been purchased used from another club.
  23. I've been running the same setup. Before I shot it I threw in a Hyperfire 3G. For optic I am running a C-More. Recently been running the Taccom buffer system and I like how it changed the recoil impulse. Minus a broken firing pin early on I have had zero malfunctions in around 3k rounds.
  24. I don't have anything to compare to but the Taccom is stupid easy to clean up and has worked great. I will say though I did kill a firing pin pretty quick in mine (600 or so rounds). The replacement they have sent me has been flawless for about 2500 more. I'm not sure if it was a bad pin or my Hyperfire trigger beating the hell out of it.
