  1. I carry around a Kahr CM9 in one almost daily. I use a sturdy leather belt and keep my pants fairly tight, no moving around. The only issue even with re-enforced top it's not the easiest thing to reholster in.
  2. Packet finally showed up on Saturday. No Safariland discount card though...argh Well looks like full priced new mag pouches and holster it is.
  3. I have not had my levels tested yet however I feel the fear of lead is often exaggerated. With simple hygiene practices high lead levels should be easily avoided. I know of many people personally who have been shooters for many years and some that have cast their own bullets for decades with no adverse effects. Things I do : Wash hands religiously after reloading, handling guns/ammo, shooting, casting with D-Lead soap. Wear gloves when I reload cast lead Do not eat until I have washed my hands at least once, drink at range only from screw on cap bottles dedicated to shooting or disposable. Cast in Garage with side door and garage door open with a cross fan blowing out the side door. Always shower after wards. Tumble in garage (sometimes place outside if I'm going to be out in garage reloading to baby sit it) not inside house, I try to stand back when I dump it. Avoid indoor ranges as much as possible (hard in MI winter if you want to keep shooting, but limited to twice a month). Change clothes immediately after reloading, casting, shooting.
  4. Lee Classic Cast Turret - 175 per hour I've hit 200 but I felt quite rushed. Looking to get a Dillon 550 or 650 later this year. I think the 550 will be okay, I shoot around 800-1000 rds a month in 9mm. However part of me is like go big or go home. I plan on a reloading binge this winter so I don't have to reload as much during the year.
  5. I'll just have to be patient then...
  6. Anyone try out the camera MonoPrice has?
  7. I joined IDPA back in early May and have yet to receive a membership card, rule book, etc in the mail. Are they not sending anything out anymore? I was hoping to get a Safariland discount card to buy some new gear for IDPA at a good price.
  8. I'm interested in this as well. I saw a video on YouTube but never seen them for sale.
  9. I've started doing this as well. I have enough plastic boxes for 700 rds that's it. I am planning on moving to a Dillon in a couple of months and I know this winter I'll probably load up enough ammo for next shooting season. Not buying that many boxes.
  10. I can't compare to sand paper, only held/fired a few shots with guns having them but I love the rubberized grip tape on my XD.
  11. I really have no preference, I can tell you though a few things I've noticed. Federal & Blazer - Pockets seem to loosen up quicker Winchester - Had several batches I got from someone shooting factory fresh WWB that had pockets that were super tight (annoying tight) S&B - Harder to resize - tight pockets I've been pretty happy with most brands however, I'll use all the brands besides Ammoland & AMERC.
  12. The place I posted above has Thursday night practices. It's not far from the Detroit airport. I'm not aware of any other places right now. During winter Top Gun in Taylor holds USPSA practices on Thursday.
  13. What about a Safariland option that is IDPA legal? Should be getting my 50% off card soon. Using Ghost pouches for Production.
  14. This a goofy SPAM message...
  15. I say see if you can find any Steel Challenge (no movement) or IDPA (not quite as crazy of movements as I've seen in 3Gun) and shorter stages than USPSA. I know in IDPA if you have a physical issue with say kneeling behind a barrel, you can take a procedural (3 sec penalty) and just fire from standing. Might be a good idea to give the SO a heads up before hand but no biggie. Best of luck!
  16. I use Unique, still got part of a 1lber and an 8lb jug. If powder starts becoming more available I'll probably experiment a bit.
  17. I measured several times for mine, got 45" each time, I ordered the 48" CR Speed probably should have gotten the 46" but oh well. There is a lot of overlap on mine...if I can get my ass in gear and lose a few lbs maybe I'll just cut it
  18. What about the Ghost 360 pouches? I saw a video on YouTube but never seen them out in the wild.
  19. I agree there is some foolishness with IDPA's rules but that hasn't stopped me from giving it a shot. I shot my last IDPA match last weekend and trying out another tomorrow. I think if I stick with it I might pick up a revolver as I wouldn't mind getting better shooting a revolver and not deal with the insane round count of USPSA. To me it's just another game and you gotta play by the rules. Instead of a tacticool fishing fest I picked up a denim jacket a couple sizes too big at the thrift store and cut the sleeves off...insta-vest That being said I'm not going to stop shooting USPSA.
  20. Just shot my first IDPA match today (started USPSA last year) and really enjoyed myself. XD9 Service
  21. Like others have said it's just the lead. I wouldn't bother shooting cast lead especially in 9mm unless you cast your own (I do) the $10-15/k difference for coated or plated doesn't justify the cost difference. However less than $20/k for your own cast well....it makes great practice and plinking rounds I've only ever noticed the smoke when I've done some short range drills where I'm shooting at an extremely fast rate. The gun does get a lil dirtier than normal but I don't mind.
  22. Similar thing almost happened at my last match. Had a mag get stuck in the gun when I was advancing at an angle, ripped it out as I was running and I was damn near the 180, probably like 175. RO mentioned it said it was really close. Was on the first stage...would have really sucked.
  23. I use a Old Faithful Belt I finished myself, has held up great for 2ish years of daily carry and some USPSA matches (have a CR Speed now).
  24. So this is what was going on down at the classier...wasn't sure what exactly was going on. I'm not by any means an RO but to me it sounds like he met the COF.
