Great write-up! If you're going to be shooting factory ammo I suggest you remove the comp and use the front sight block instead, it will cycle better with any of the recoil springs, plus be less nose heavy.
I recently had two pistols done in hard chrome by Techplate. Matte:
and polished:
I really think they turned out nice although I would do satin instead of polished next time so fingerprints wouldn't stand out so much.
It looks good, but I highly recommend taking an equal amount of weight from the rear of the slide as well. If you want to keep the rear serrations you could take it from beneath the rear sight and inside the slide.
I have a Pre B CZ 75 with an old style safety which isn't very positive in the on position and can't help but think there's some kind of detent or spring missing, does anyone have one like this?
Perhaps the compensator create back pressure in the barrel, forcing gas up through holes in the barrel because they definitely make a difference in a comp'ed gun.
I agree with Superdude's assessment, I tested a Magnaported SP01 with 115s over WAC from ~100pf all the way up to 170pf and the ports have little effect.
It looks cool Henning, but the lens looks really far forward, have you tried it on a V12 Gold Team? I imagine the glass would be right over the first holes.
I would say the gun is holstered when it's resting in the holster and you could remove your hand without the gun moving. That being said I suggest you train yourself to put the safety on while the gun is pointed in a safe direction and before moving toward the holster.
Why is it you don't want to reload? I hate to crush your dreams, but I don't think you're going to be happy going down this road, Open is all about tweaking and tinkering.
