  1. As long as you're not shooting past 10 yards you're OK
  2. I tested some 115 Xtreme RN loaded to 1.170" over CFE through my 5.4" 2011 with two 3/16" holes. 7.9gr made 171pf, how long is your barrel? At 1.140 I would load some in the high 6s and work up from there in 0.2gr increments.

    Oh man, so many options!
  4. I don't think such a thing exists, but you can grind the Shadow mag release to work, I think Cajun Gun Works offers the service.
  5. I have never had an issue with CZC base pads, springs and followers, 21+1 in 40 and 23+1 in 9 right out of the box (24+1 after break in with 9mm).
  6. WST is useless in a compensated pistol, way too fast. Silhouette will be better, but with 121s you might as well load major, because that's where it will shoot best. Minor loads with Silhouette and 121s will be quieter than major, maybe a hair softer, but not flatter. Why is it you don't want to load major? It's not the big deal people make it out to be if you choose components intelligently.
  7. If gas is what you want I suggest a big charge under a 95/100gr bullet, if WAC is what you have use it, but slower would be better, you'll be amazed how flat the gun will shoot with a 95 going ~1400 fps. 3N38, HS6, AA7 are all good choices.
  8. That extra inch means a lot I've seen a 6% increase in velocity per inch of barrel from 4" to 5" to 6" How long is your barrel Bullets? If it's 5" it's right in there: 1365 * 1.06 = 1447
  9. No, because the humps on the trigger bar knock it down below the sear when the slide cycles, causing the sear to catch the hammer hooks.
  10. Herman, are you loading for a competition were PF is not a consideration, or looking to make 125 PF min?
  11. Plated bullets go faster than jacketed, your barrel is longer than most, and it appears you have a fast barrel to boot. I've found my CZ and Tanfoglio barrels to be significantly faster than STI, KKM and Schuemann barrels of the same length. You've got everything going for you to make fast velocities, you might try 115s with the same charge, I think you'll like them.
  12. You've got me stumped, maybe an issue with the mag brake, I suggest taking it apart and trying again. Have you looked at the pictures in this thread?
  13. So you didn't mess with the sear cage or the decocker? Just the grips, mag brake and spring plug?
  14. Mecgar makes the "new style" mags for Tanfoglios which are a matte black finish, the "old style" were glossy black or chrome, stamped with a rounded triangle around a T. The difference for 45/10/38 is not as significant as 40/9; the old style 40/9 mags had a spacer at the front and didn't work worth a damn whereas the new style Mecgar mags have the spacer at the rear and work perfectly, it was a game changer for Tanfoglios 40/9. The for 45/10/38, the only difference is the stiffness of the mag body which is a plus when packing them tight, and the feed lips which have a slightly different design, but should work fine if tuned properly.
  15. Winner, winner chicken dinner! The way to check this it to hold the trigger rearward and thumb the hammer back and forth, it needs to fully clear the sear.
  16. 68.7635% http://www.classifiercalc.com
  17. Those are all on the harder side as far as primers go so it's believable.
  18. S&B SRP or SPP? Seems a little faster than I would expect, but not too crazy.
  19. The look like the old style triangle T mags, are they marked Mec-Gar?
  20. The Cheely sets back just a hair more than the Quinn III, but it also sweeps across the slide stop a little lower so depending where your holes are positioned you may have to modify it to get the slide stop out. I know I've run into that on a few of mine. These are not my guns, just from Google images, but do you see the one with the Cheely has the holes drilled further forward on the frame: I would imagine your Trubor has the holes in the same place as this Steelmaster, so the Quinn might be a better fit for you. I suggest having a racker cut with either.
  21. I've only ever used CZC pads/springs/followers for the TS; all the mags get 23+1 reliably right out of the box and after some break in, one of them gets 24+1
  22. Trigger pins and hammer pins are bigger on Tanfos, so they can be drilled out, Sears can interchange as long as you're not using a firing pin block. Barrels don't, slides don't, small frame mags and grips do, slide stops do, safeties, mag releases, and sights don't.
