  1. I did do the work myself. The slide has not been lightened or stroked and without any holes in the barrel it flips more than my main Tanfo, but it's still pretty decent. I'm planning to drill two more holes in this one for a total of five straight up, plus experiment with more stroke, buffers and maybe a dual recoil spring setup.
  2. Some people in states with magazine capacity laws permanently block standard capacity mags which tend to function better/utilize aftermarket base pads.
  3. That's what I did with this one: I took a 9mm Limited, bolted on an optic, mag well, replaced the 4.75" cone barrel with a 6" straight barrel and factory three port cone comp, cut the barrel to length, threaded it, and modified the barrel like this: So it could be removed out the front of the slide. I also used metal epoxy to glue in the front sight, and long set screw, then ground it off and sanded it smooth for a clean look: As far as I know there's no where to buy a complete Open top end like this.
  4. What length? Right now I'm loading 1.135", which chronos at 167 in my slowest barrel.
  5. Yes, you will completely forget how to reload and become obsessed with buying new gear/guns.
  6. I already have the 38 size die, so I'll try that first, the I'll try Makarov, thanks for the tip
  7. A friend roll sizes 9mm with 38SC dies and says he gets 31+1 in his big stick. I ordered a Lee single stage with a bulge buster and a 38 sizing die to try it out.
  8. Bore snake, drop in the muzzle, pull it out the chamber.
  9. Some people are more cautious than others when reloading 9 major. Personally I don't worry too much about brass and have only had issues with stepped brass (IMT, FM, and ammoload), once I had my first case separate at the step I started sorting them out of my match ammo. I've still only had three of the separate in me, all in 2011 Open guns, but never in a CZ or Tanfo. I load 9 major brass over and over without issues.
  10. The Cheely is the best I've tried, if you want one let him know! http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=234358#entry2613188

  13. In regards to guns and only guns.[emoji53] What does this mean?Sent from my SM-G900V using Tapatalk When you increase the stroke of the slide you increase the distance over which the spring works to slow the slide before it impacts the frame.
  14. A 6" gun in 9mm is awesomely soft.
  15. Since no one actually answered your question, I'll chime in An SP01 with a short reset disco has a shorter reset than a stock Shadow. As you already heard the best Shadow has a reset ~1mm shorter than the best SP01.
  16. I like this suggestion, not sure why? but I do like the idea. Counter-intuitive right?!?
  17. TS is heavier than a Limited, you could stroke it to make it softer.
  18. You could also cut a slot in the middle of the racker and invade the firing pin tunnel, it would be tricky, but it could be done.
  19. I tried a non-magnetic Racemaster for Tanfo once and while I liked it, it didn't always draw smooth; I know Nealio has one all dialed in, so maybe he can give some guidance, but I already had a CR Speed for Tanfo which works pretty well so I sold it off.
  20. When I started this game I fell for a Tactical Sport, I pined for a Czechmate, but was too intimidated to roll up to the line with a $3K gun as a newb, so I shot Limited with a TS... and immediately started turning it into an Open gun! Like you I love guns, so three years and dozens later I'm still loving Open. I enjoy tuning DA/SA CZs (http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773) so I always have a handful of Production guns in the safe which I seriously consider shooting in a match, but rarely do I had a half dozen Limited guns I never shot, so I finally decided to clear out all my .40 gear in favor of all 9mm, major and minor. Production is different enough from Open to give a break and work on different skills if and when I want time off the dot, it just hasn't happened yet Also, if you use a horizontal Cmores, switching from dot to irons is no big deal.
  21. How about pictures? http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=191773
  22. Yes I have, but only in a limited session, I've never owned a CM.
