  1. Yes at WAC and I'll see you Sunday at Ruskin. I bought the BRN22 to modify it into an ambidextrous 10/22 receiver since commercial ones are around $400 and the BRN22 was $65. I used my poor man's milling machine which worked fine other than one cosmetic slip-up. Drill & tapped the bolt for a left side charging handle. My original plan was to have the charging handle much farther forward but the serial number location killed that plan. I prefer ambi controls when shooting steel and this one is setup for RFRI. Has run flawlessly using a factory bolt purchased on Ebay. For RFPO where sight height isn't a problem, I use this: https://www.tandemkross.com/Advantage-Charging-Handle-and-Picatinny-Scope-Base-for-the-Ruger®-1022®_p_216.html
  2. I'm not sure how good the quality control is with the Brownells BRN22 receiver. I bought one and had to mill away a ledge on the inside that was preventing the trigger group from seating correctly.
  3. Just sign up and go. You'll get to see the best steel shooters in the world and make new friends. Once the buzzer goes off it's just another match shooting the same stages that you've shot elsewhere. CMP is a very professional facility with more than 500 acres IIRC. The writeup is a pretty accurate description of the match. Alabama is hot as hell in the summer ... no way around it. Once you're in town, go to the store and get tons of Gatorade & snacks. I shot morning & afternoon on consecutive days which in hindsight was probably a mistake. Depending on how many guns you're shooting, you may want to shoot in the morning and hit the practice bays in the morning before it gets too hot. I drove to Steel Nationals in Georgia and flew to the WSSC in Alabama.
  4. Who's gonna be the 1st benos revo shooter to buy one for ICORE? I only shot Colt revos for fun so I've never had to do a quick reload using the pull type of cylinder release. I'm sure some of you guys have competed with Colts. https://www.colt.com/series/python_series http://soldiersystems.net/2020/01/01/still-making-history-colt-releases-updated-python/
  5. I've used a borrowed Brownells chamfer tool on a couple of cylinders, and Dremel bits on other cylinders and I couldn't see any difference. They were not titanium. Here's another post with some good info: https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/239537-chamfered-my-first-ti-cylinder-today/
  6. Is it one one of these? https://www.genitron.com/Handgun/Para/Pistol/14-45-LDA-Limited/45-Auto/Variant-1 https://www.genitron.com/Handgun/Para/Pistol/14-45-LDA/45-Auto/Variant-1 https://modernfirearms.net/en/handguns/handguns-en/canada-semi-automatic-pistols/para-ordnance-p14-45-eng/
  7. You engraved all of the required NFA info, to the required depth & size with a Dremel? Kudos, you must have a very steady hand. I've never heard of anyone doing that. Show a picture of your work. https://www.law.cornell.edu/cfr/text/27/479.102 https://www.thefirearmblog.com/blog/2016/06/06/atf-nfa-marking-requirements-get-it-right/
  8. Starline short colt brass & TK clips to match. BMT loader/unloader, SDM fiber front sight, Hogue rubber grip, did additional chamfering on the cylinder, home made moon clip holder, added a Raptor Engineering red dot sight mount to classify in Steel Challenge OSR division, Blade-Tech holster chopped for a quicker draw. Here are some before & after pics:
  9. Don't forgot about the For "pistol and MPX parts" the small Harbor Freight unit will suffice. Don't forgot about storage space. A larger or a rifle size unit takes up a lot more space on your workbench or storage shelf.
  10. I hope the Xproduct Glock pattern drum will have a longer mag tube than their Colt pattern drum which required you to remove or modify your magwell.
  11. I don't own a JR, but the pictures look like they use a regular AR15 mag release on the left side of the receiver. If that's the case, any oversized AR15 mag release would work. The picture posted above by UFO looks like a XMR 2 AR15 extended mag release by Odin Works seen here: https://www.odinworks.com/XMR_s/1862.htm
  12. Me neither which is why I'd like to see a picture of whatever Limcat did.
  13. Rick - I didn't see it at the match but JP makes a folding side charger. Check out these links: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xghvav3YNFk https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QshrJ5sVK5A https://www.pewpewtactical.com/best-side-charging-ar15-uppers/
  14. Do the "tuned" mags look any different? Post a pic of the "tuned" feed lips if you have time.
  15. When you say "lightweight competition barrel", are you referring to the 9mm Ultralight Shrouded Barrel? JP 9mm barrels: JPSM9-5.5UL10 9mm Ultralight Shrouded Barrel 5.5" length (16" OAL) 1:10 twist $399.00 (15.5 oz) JPSM9-10.5L10 10.5" length ● 1:10 twist ● light contour $199.00 (16.6 oz) JPSM9-14.5L10 14.5" length ● 1:10 twist ● light contour $199.00 (22.4 oz) JPSM9-16L10 16" length ● 1:10 twist ● light contour $199.00 (24.7 oz)
  16. Check out this video of Jerry demonstrating "How to Shoot a Revolver". It's definitely worth 30 minutes of your time. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gEHNZFTfSD8
  17. I don't use solar mode because it's not bright enough for matches in the Florida sun. I keep it in manual mode so I can control the brightness level. I've had the sight less than a year so I haven't had to change the battery. Obviously batteries do fail and if I have to change it during a match, it's going to suck.
  18. FYI - I love my 507C but I don't like that it has to be removed to change the battery.
  19. ^^^ this is the most common method. Picatinny risers are cheap and come in different heights.
  20. I had the same problem with my Holosun 507C. I sent it back for repair/replacement, and haven't had any further issues.
  21. Seeing lots of this type at matches: https://www.sportsmansguide.com/product/index/mission-first-tactical-battlelink-minimalist-stock-mil-spec-ar-15?a=1925608
  22. Did you leave the cut surfaces un-coated? That would be a rust problem in Florida.
  23. Max does. Check out the pics on his Instagram site; https://www.instagram.com/maxamundi/
  24. I use a 507 on different pistols and a revolver and I think the window is fine. See the sizes below. The only thing I don't like about the 507 is it has to be removed to change the battery. The 507's 32 MOA ring is perfect for steel targets while other sights with larger 65 MOA rings are too big since the ring is larger than the steel target. If you prefer a smaller dot you can just use the 2 MOA dot. You do have 3 reticle choices with the 507.
  25. FYI - The 507 has to be removed for a battery change, while the 510 has a side tray for the battery.
