  1. How often are you cleaning your gas valve & tappet on the MPX?

  8. Chip - I read your comments on this MPX thread:  https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/277787-mpx-fte-issues/

I'm thinking of buying an MPX.  How is your gen 3 running?  Have you had any problems?

    Thanks,

    Jeff

Hey Jeff, mine has been running perfect through over 2000rds thus far... I haven’t had any problems at all to speak of. From talking to my local match director, it seems that most of the issues is usually people running ammo that’s too soft, but I had a 1st gen mpx that was a jamomatic too, so.... seems like the newest one is gtg with normal pf ammo.

  9. It used to happen with my 686SSR until I got a tip from a revo GM who learned it from Randy Lee @ Apex. Get rid of the yoke screw spring, replace the stock plunger with a solid rod, shape the rod tip to match the original, and grind the length until you get the proper length for a tight fit without being too stiff. Never had another problem. I think I used a correct diameter drill bit to create the new rod.
  10. Or Gunbroker. I've had better luck getting S&W parts off of Gunbroker than ordering directly from S&W which sometimes took months to get a part.
  11. What's the deal with Sig MPX generation numbers? I've seen references to gen 1,2 & 3 on this forum, and yet this response from the rep at Sig states there are only gens 1 & 2. Thank you for contacting Sig Sauer. There are only two generations of the MPX. Generation 1 MPX were introduced in 2014. In 2015 we introduced the Generation 2 and all models onward are Generation 2. I hope this helps.
  12. Check the accuracy chart and look for "Ransom Rest".
  13. Good point. Nothing wrong with the Ruger black synthetic stock. Since I had one laying around, I use it for RFRI.
  14. Kurt Grimes. Contact him via Facebook; https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=627203677620155&set=pb.100009915852637.-2207520000.1567802484.&type=3&theater
  15. Al's Custom also sells them: https://newsite.alscustom.com/revolvers.php#barrels
  16. Here are the relevant definitions from the 2019 rules:
  17. That was the LaserLyte Laser Sight Center Mass which has been discontinued. https://www.amazon.com/LaserLyte-Laser-Sight-Center-Mass/dp/B0180OYGCA/ref=cm_cr_arp_d_product_top?ie=UTF8 I liked the form factor since it had a momentary mode and I contacted them about making one with a single dot. They said it wasn't feasible due to the necessary windage & elevation adjustments.
  18. It works great for the price. I've used mine for about 5 years. The only minor nuisance was having to turn it on every 8 minutes which I think is the max run time. For $10 more you can try this one which is the same size but has a max 55 minute cleaning cycle: https://www.amazon.com/TruSonik-Ultrasonic-Industrial-Stainless-Jewellery/dp/B01HC4WBQW
  19. It probably depends on your definition of "cleaning a gun". Your friend's steam cleaning method seems like a once per year major cleaning process ... like some of us do with ultrasonic tanks. 99% of the time I run a boresnake through the barrel and wipe the feed ramp. BTW, The smallest multi-use steam cleaning system I found via a quick google search is $300.
  20. I use to do the key ring + magnet technique and it wasn't 100% reliable for me so I cemented a kydex loop onto my mag pouch.
  21. https://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/gun-review-janz-type-em-357-revolver/ Interesting external trigger pull adjustment. It might be a very fast cylinder release. Who has $12,000 to find out? https://www.gunbroker.com/All/search?Keywords=Janz
  22. Check out the Vortex mount from these guys: http://www.or3gun.com/OR3GUN/about_or3gun_sightsaddle.htm Also shown here: http://mossbergowners.com/forum/index.php?threads/where-do-i-put-a-red-dot-reflex-sight-on-a-930-jm-pro.18292/
  23. Now you can shoot as fast as Max https://www.instagram.com/p/BtowwR4HO8j/
  24. Do you consider the mag release too heavy when there is no mag in the PCC?
