  1. I’m getting used to it. I was using the version 1 GR and liked it a lot. It was sleek and slim and aluminum. Loved it but the gun still wobbled. Saw at the new version and since I had good luck with the old one, I got it. The adjustability is great and my gun doesn’t wobble anymore. Don’t care for the bulky size and weight and the ball pivot (either came loose or I didn’t tighten it enough) and it is plastic. Those items are what makes this holster so adjustable. Looks like I’ll keep this one. Using it in a major match this weekend.
  2. I used to have my plastic grips with the double undercut and worked well for me. Then I went to the new Guga Ribas holster and found the double undercut had taken away too much meat from the bottom of the trigger guard to let the gun have a solid footing in the holster. I was ordering new grips anyway and just got the grips with a single undercut. Gun sits solid in the holster and I really can’t tell the difference. Just got used to it and it works for me.
  3. Anyone know if there’s going to be an open bay for function fire? Would like to verify my zero since I’m flying across the Pacific Ocean. Or, just pull over to the side of the road and blast....lol
  4. I use the ones from Brownells since they are inexpensive and work. Don’t know if the base pad will work with the Dawson mag well.
  5. A bunch of us mark our brass as Joe4d said. I am still shooting 38SC and have no plans to convert to 9mm anytime soon. Even the 9Major guys mark their brass. I use the Mr Shooter single pen device to place a single line around the body of the case just above the extractor groove. This way I can spot my brass as it’s laying on its side. The guys who mark the headstamp have to pick up the brass to see the mark. We all gather around the table and sort most of the brass into piles. Can do this as we typically have the same group of shooters every weekend.
  6. CZ Custom (vendor forum) offers a reach reduction kit. ETA and the trigger with the kit doesn’t have screws to get loose.
  7. I want to get an enclosed trailer to store my range gear in. That way I don’t have to carry all that extra weight in my truck while doing non-shooting activities, plus it will save me some fuel.

    P365 day 1

Did you find the P365 any harder to conceal than the G43?
  9. My production load is: SNS 147gr coated RN over 3.1gr N320 at 1.120”
  10. If these are the red coated ones, they work fine in my Shadow 2. OAL 1.120”
  11. Wouldn’t this special condition explain why there may be a perceived contradiction? — UNLESS a modification is SPECIFICALLY authorized in the rules or SPECIFICALLY authorized in an official, published NROI interpretation, it is considered a PROHIBITED MODIFICATION.
  12. I wonder if their products will be seen on prize tables now?
  13. Was wondering why Dillon wasn’t the loader of USPSA. Dillon was always the loader of choice in the nationals surveys. Hmmmm...
  14. What role does the two set screws in the trigger play? How hard was it to remove the hammer to disconnector pin?
  15. You can put yourself on a list to be notified when it becomes available, that’s what I did. The S2 already has the correct height front sight. This new sight sits perfectly low with my 147gr loads. I hate when the rear sight has to be raised high and leaving an unsightly gap between the top of the slide and the bottom of the rear sight blade. CZC is great to deal with.
  16. I used this one from CZ Custom and it’s adjustable for elevation and windage. Prefer the squared off shape of the rear sight blade on this one vs the pyramid shape one that came on my S2.
  17. https://colt.com/detail-page/competition-ser70-9mm-bl-91 It will say series 70 as the model and the listed sku
  18. I was in the same position a year ago. Decided to get the Colt because it was a Colt and I liked the blue grips. The RO was on my list because of the fully adjustable rear sight, the Colt was only elevation unless you drift the sight for windage. Not too many rear sight options for this one unless the slide is milled. I didn’t care for the Colt’s series 80 parts but now they come as series 70’s. Didn’t know where the RO frames are made. All I remember about SA was that my old SA had a made in Brazil marking. Got out me the Colt since it was on sale for $799. Was only to dabble in single stack without dumping in a bunch of dough. Plus I got the 9mm version so I could use my Production loads.
  19. Shadow 2 and shooting 147 RN S&S Casting coated over 3.1gr N320. I like it as it is so mild in the recoil department. I don’t care for the “snap” when shooting lighter bullets. For “snap”, I shoot my open gun. It comes down to personal preference, so shoot what feels good to you.
  20. I was using the undersized die for 38SC until the die started shaving brass when it got closer to the web area. Found a good deal on a Case Pro and use it for 38SC; 9mm; and .40. It does a great job and now w can use standard sizing dies when loading. The Case Pro is set up with a case feeder and I can outrun it. GRX setup is cheaper but I haven’t used that so hard for me to compare the two.
  21. That’s exactly what happened to my Lt. when he checked his gun in checked baggage. The case had the holes for padlocks but he didn’t have any. He used the cable lock that comes with guns and wrapped it around the case and was able to lock it. The TSA Agent then proceeded to pull apart the case and was able to get his fingers inside and said that was unacceptable. So, Lt wrapped the cable around the case twice and with great difficulty was able to lock it. Then the TSA Agent was satisfied.
  22. I bought a Colt Competition in 9mm just to play in Single Stack. It came with the series 80 fire control parts which I replaced. Now, the Competition series come with the series 70 fire control parts. It was between the Colt Competition or the SA Range Officer. I liked the undercut below the trigger guard of the Colt but also liked the adjustable rear sight of the RO. Ended up going with the Colt. Since it it was only a dabble into Single Stack, I got the 9mm version. The plan was not to spend much money. Got a magwell and series 80 spacer and extended firing pin. As for the fire control parts, I left the Colt parts in and just adjusted the sear spring. Doesn’t feel as good as my open gun trigger pull but it is good enough.
  23. Can’t help with the metal on metal but I replaced my trigger return spring with a reduced power trigger return spring and the free float trigger pin both from Cajun. I did this replacing when I put in the recurve trigger in hopes of reducing the reach on double action. Next for me is to install a trigger reach reduction kit after May 15th.
  24. FYI: I removed the sight from right to left I installed the sight from left to right caught my typo after I couldn’t edit it, again
  25. I used the MGW Sight Pro to change out my S2 rear sight. Didn’t want to hammer out the rear sight in case I wanted to reuse it later. Had to heat up one of the set screws because of thread locker. After that, the rear sight was very tight and I was glad I got the sight pusher. The sight pusher I have can be mounted in a vise so it will be easier to remove and install the rear sight.
