  1. Once you've had a chance to work up and test some loads, it would be appreciated if you'd come back here and provide you thoughts/data.
  2. Interesting results (thanks for the graph Greg) which seem to highlight perceived value compared to benefit. Interested to see survey results if this were conducted next season, considering there's several new'ish powders on the market, targeted towards action pistol shooters. Also curious if similar results would apply to major PF reloaders, as many of the powders also are used for major PF.
  3. Bulk storage for practice ammo (not every round is case gauged) and hinged 100-count plastic cases for match ammo
  4. jealousy? Perhaps consider a date-night.... On a more serious note, have you changed your reloading recipe between 'then' and now?
  5. Not sure about the rest of the folks here, but I use my left hand to stabilize the bullet as it is going up into the seating die. If I were to drop a bullet on a 'bell'd' case and let it ride up to the seating die unassisted, it wouldn't work so well.
  6. I like to keep around 1000 loaded rounds for each caliber that i shoot. I load 100-300/day after work. The number of days during the week that I reload is dependent upon my practice and match schedule. I use the Vibra prime unit (I know some folks love it, others hate it; I'm in the former group) to reload primers so it only takes a minute or less per 100. When I take a break to reload primers, I case gauge all the loaded rounds, refill the bullet tray and do some other QC checks. Not the fastest way to reload, however I am not looking to break the world reloading speed record. If reloading were a USPSA sanctioned activity, I'd be a C/D ranked reloader. All alphas (quality/accuracy) however my times (speed) would be miserable.
  7. Here's what the S2 safeties CZ-USA is selling, look like
  8. Hi Matt, Just saw you post, the chrono still works as well as the day I bought it. Looking at the app on my phone, I've chrono'd 147 sets of groups. Normally my groups are 10-round groups, sometimes 15. Using 10, I've put close to 1500 rounds across the chrono.
  9. Holy frame battering, sonic slide velocity batman! Just teasing Interested to see if there is any correlation between low recoil spring weight and broken parts.
  10. I use the Prima V because it's cheaper than N320, almost as clean (can get smokey when temp/humidity is high) and meters a bit better too. I've tried ba9.5 for 9, however it was requiring more powder to make same PF as N320 (with no significant benefits), so I decided to stop
  11. I've loaded about 5K on my 650 with no issues during loading or firing. Picked up another 10K during this sale!
  12. Pretty darn close I'd say, at least at this powder charge level In my .40 loads they start to diverge a bit. I need less Prima V powder to make more velocity.
  13. Not sure if S&B's are being referenced or another brand, however S&B SPPs are in stock according to Cabelas website
  14. Be sure to come back and let us know what you think. I've got some SV that I'd like to try out one day for both 9 minor and .40 major.
  15. My 9mm pistols typically throw the brass about 8-10' from me, at the 4/5 O'clock position. My .40 TSO on the other hand seems to throw the brass 10-18', when shooting a 172 PF, 180gr bullet. I've tried 14, 16 and 18 lb springs in addition to the 13# (I believe, the pistol was used) spring to test for functionality. All of those springs will cycle a full magazine with no malfunctions, tested with ~20 rounds per spring. I didn't spend enough time with the heavier springs to determine how they impact follow-up shots and overall fit with my grip/style. Looking for feedback on what some other folks are using and why.
  16. I load Prima V for both 9 minor and .40 major, shot from CZ pistols (SP-01 for 9mm and TSO for .40) 3.5gr Prima V under a 135 coated RN at 1.08 OAL gives me ~135 PF 4.3gr Prima V under a 180 coated TC at 1.11 OAL lands me ~172 PF Essentially both loads behave very similar to N320. Prima V burns relatively clean (very similar/same as N320) and meters well. Best of all it's currently on sale at Graf's for $13.99/1.1lbs with free hazmat when 10 or more are purchased.

    Mag Question

TS mags are too wide for standard 75 based frames, to include the Shadow 2.
  18. You can get them off of CZ USA's web site. I reckon you could find a close match at your local hardware store in a pinch.
  19. I started to do that until I discovered that you can lift the leg of the spring up and away from the screw head.
  20. Rowdy if you are considering N320, give Prima V a whirl. While I prefer N320 by a hair, Prima V is a very close second!
  21. I found the TSO mag release to be a bit too long for my liking. So I ordered a Shadow 2 release to see if it would fit/work. Good news- The Shadow 2 mag release will fit into the TS Bad news- TS mags cannot be inserted with the S2 mag release installed Interesting note: With the S2 mag release installed, standard CZ mags will lock in place and drop. My CZ mags worked perfectly. While my MecGar mags would insert/drop, they frequently hung up during insertion. I noticed that the design of the MecGar's is a bit different than the CZs, see below The Shadow 2 mag release is a bit narrower internally, which prevents TS mags from being inserted. I imagine if one were determined enough, they could grind enough material from the S2 mag release to make it work. Given the effort involved for that, I would just grind the existing TS mag release button.
  22. Impact driver was the ticket to getting the screw out- Thanks for the recommendation! BTW, not only was this b*tch staked (2 places) it was also loctite'd And to top that off, the Shadow 2 mag release won't work in a TS. Going to start a new thread on that one though. Thanks again for the help/suggestions! Here's the link to the post about the Shadow 2 mag release: linky BTW, it's an easy (well relative) way to run standard CZ mags in a TS frame.
  23. Mine don't last too long, however I keep them in my temperature controlled basement. So ~65* year round with <50% RH.
  24. I stack-em when they are on sale. If you store them properly, they should outlast you. They function fine in all the pistols I have, including my Orange which has a very light trigger pull.
