  1. Another vote for peening. Doesn't look pretty, but prevents the pin from walking.
  2. Where are you located? I'm doing the opposite. I shot a TSO in limited major all last year and picked up a 2011 to try that platform this year, same division. Looking forward to warmer weather so that I can choot
  3. Here I thought I was the only person with Winny SP primers. I prefer CCI, S&B (when Cabela's carried them) and started with some Fiocchi recently, which seem to be good to go.
  4. Wow, that's a pretty drastic switch. N320 and Sport Pistol are two comparable and readily available powders, that personally, I would choose before TG.
  5. In a typical batch manufacturing process, consecutive serial number may not be indicative of consecutive/sequential manufacture order. Just that the engraving was sequential.
  6. ^this helped my stage planning skills immensely! I look at my local matches (where several of my normal squad members Ms and an occasional sponsored GM) as free training classes every weekend. The bonus is these are a great bunch of guys to shoot with
  7. what weight bullet? With 124gr bullets and 6.5gr WAC from my CM I'm seeing 175'ish PF.
  8. +1 (any order) this is a pretty old classifier and the requirements are pretty clear.
  9. I was thinking the same, as I show ~6.5 for 124gr
  10. 4.5gr of N320 under 180gr coated bullet makes major for me, from a 5" barrel. I'd drop half to a full grain and go from there.
  11. If steel and polymer grips make up 87% of the shooters, what are the other 13% using, wood?
  12. If OAL of the bullet is preventing the slide from going into battery AND the hammer is still dropping, OP has got bigger fish to fry than troubleshooting cartridge OAL.
  13. From what you've written, I'm assuming the hammer is dropping, however the round doesn't discharge and there's no sign of firing pin strike on the primer. If this is accurate, I would look at firing pin spring and main spring before troubleshooting a failure to return to battery. If it's not fully in battery and the hammer drops, you've got some serious issues. My initial thought is that the FP spring is very light or perhaps someone lightened the main spring. Both are pretty easy to check and cheap to replace with factory springs. Once you do that and if you're still get 'no strikes' (as opposed to light strikes) you'll need to look more into slide timing and trigger mechanics.
  14. Why not run an optical sensor at the bottom of the feed tube, to act as the 'low' sensor and keep the existing mechanical switch for the high sensor. You'd need to rewire the existing mechanical sensor, however I don't see a need for any type of logic, beyond relays. Low sensor triggers and trips a relay that closes a circuit that engages the motor. Once the tube is full the cases trip the high sensor which removes the ground/power from one leg of the relay.
  15. These function fine in my pistols. Not so fine with my vibra-prime primer system and the 150 round pkg (all rows are not the same) is not as easy as 100 count primers. Being value oriented (read cheap) I don't mind the minor inconveniences, provided they function as intended, which they do.
  16. Another vote for short end of the allen wrench. Now the primer stop switch, I may give a try as it seems 'slightly' easier than unscrewing the primer advance plastic piece or removing the spring from the primer index wheel.
  17. I have had 2 adjustable sights break (3 if you count my custom weld job breaking about 5000 rounds later) on major PF (.40) pistols. My preference is fixed rear and green FO front.
  18. Yep agreed, good combo but does not take full advantage of the comp.
  19. The primary advantage of 9 Major over .40 for open is magazine capacity. If the COF doesn't offer an advantage for the larger capacity mags, then I'd say the .40 folks are not at very much of a disadvantage.
  20. Holy smokes, 28 powders! I'm comparing 4 right now and thought I had my hands full.
  21. This is good to hear. Hopefully they show up in the US before 2020
  22. I know a few guys that shoot .40 S&W (major) in open. N320 would be perfectly fine for this. Although I suspect you were thinking more along the lines of 9mm major.
  23. Try some Lok Boggies, they are pretty grippy without shredding your skin.
  24. Looking at the mag holders on that belt there's s a lot of bullets (100 rnds + 20/21 in pistol) being carried around batman
  25. OP/ @Jess409 How did the Sport Powder work out for you?
