  1. Years ago I shot a stage at Norco or SWPL that was 1 shot on target 1, 2 shots on target 2, 3 shots on target 3 all the way up to target 10 which got 10 rounds. This was back in the day when a 10 round Super was the hot ticket. 55 round stage with 6 reloads IIRC.
  2. I've had good results with the Doug Koenig Low Mass Hammer (made by EGW) and EGW sear, SVI disconnector, and SVI titanium sear spring. Johnny Lim in Reno can do your trigger job, but it looks like he's on the opposite side of the state from you. Anybody with any good recommendations for a gunsmith in Salt Lake City?
  3. I'm using this one. It fits well, but the scope is very stiff to rotate. http://shop.theshooterssource.com/3-Gun-Stuff-Scope-Lever-Burris-TAC30-3GSSLTAC30.htm
  4. Please be sure to forward those sentiments directly to NBC and the NFL.
  5. Do you also quench your hand cast bullets in your tea pot? (reference to scene in "World's Fastest Indian")
  6. I think in the 9 years since the original posts they have picked a bullet weight and powder by now.
  7. Check out the Browning section on Rimfire Central, lots of tips and info on Buckmarks http://www.rimfirecentral.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=17
  8. Moderators, please move this to "What I Hate" and close it so that in six months another thread can be started on the same subject, same as the thread six months ago.
  9. Those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it! The Steel Challenge almost died the first time when it was moved away from Piru and had to be brought back to life and back to Piru.
  10. If it fits the SPX it should fit the JM Pro as they use the same forend, but adding a cheesegrater forend probably won't help with loading, especially if you use a load 2 method.
  11. Another reason is to prevent breaking off an extended ejector or locking up the gun by jamming the magazine too far into the gun when doing a slidelock reload.
  12. Good catch. The second gun does have an older Limcat comp on it (It was new at the time). Johnny didn't do any of the work on the gun though. I might just give him a call. He is within driving distance of me. They are just SV frames, not factory guns. Johnny Lim is usually at the Richmond Hotshots range for the 1st Sunday Match, Solano Targetmasters for the 2nd Sunday Match, or NCPS for the 4th Sunday Match, so the drive might be shorter than you thought!
  13. What a coincidence, his cousin Lyeng Ho is in the San Jose, Ca. phonebook.
  14. If you can find a local carburetor/electric repair shop (getting harder to find these days) take the pin to the shop along with a screen shot (at 1 minute 30 seconds)of the video posted above. They will probably have the right sized clip. An old school dirt bike or Harley shop might also have the proper sized clip.
  15. contact the Sportsmans Channel let them know your 11 year old son was in an episode and you would like a copy of the show.
  16. I understand that rules are rules, so sweeping your hand is a DQ, but sweeping your femoral artery is not? One will be painful if the gun goes bang, the other could be fatal.
  17. The British have been driving on the wrong side of the road for longer than that, but that still doesn't make it right! LOL!
  18. I've found that synthetic 2 stroke oils work better than synthetic motor oils. It doesn't produces less carbon when it's burnt (AR bolt carriers), it sticks better and doesn't sling out, and it comes in cool colors (orange, red, blue, purple) just like the expensive gun oils (because most of them are just repackaged 2 stroke oils). Motul 800, ELF HTX976, Castrol RS TTS, Maxima 927, Bel-Ray Si-7 are all very good oils. And just for you guys that religiously change the oil in your vehicles every 3,000 miles. Stop Changing Your Oil
  19. I run 1050 powder funnels on all my Dillon presses because I didn't like the way new brass stuck to the 650 & 550 powder funnels. With the Mr. Bullet Feeder powder funnel new brass REALLY stuck to the MBF funnel and I didn't like the brass shavings so I run the 1050 powder funnels. I didn't have to change the amount of belling I normally use, and the bullet is seated firmly enough that you have to pull it out of the case.
  20. I can't tell any difference in the quality of the ammo, but it's very handy if you shoot guns of one caliber that require different overall lengths, ie. 38 Super with 115gr JHP bullets at 1.230" OAL and 95gr JHP bullets at 1.200" OAL. Just dial the micrometer to the correct settings and it's close enough for government work.
  21. I zero for point of impact at 25 yards, which will be about 1" to 1.5" low at 10 yards (center of C-More lens to bore), it's better to be centered on the farther targets than perfectly centered on the closer ones.
