  1. If you've modified the Slide Stop and removed the ledge from the Mag Follower there is no longer any spring pressure from the Mag Follower pushing up against the Slide Stop, so any friction at all will stop the magazine from falling out. With even a single round in the magazine the Mag Follower will be holding the round against the bottom of the slide under spring pressure. Also check if the botton side of the Mag Release is dragging against the magazine, ie. does the magazine drop free after pressing the Mag Release if you very slightly release pressure on the Mag Release.
  2. Jesse's remark about the sound of Sr/Jr building a bike was the sound of the UPS truck backing up to the OCC door...beep, beep, beep, beep was priceless!
  3. Good for you! Every vote cast counted, whether or not it was cast for your favorite candidate.
  4. Open 10 - Several people have asked where the Open 10 shooters would come from? I still have an old single stack open gun from pre-historic days that would be fun to shoot, but currently shooting it against 30 round guns isn't exactly encouraging me to bring it back out. I'm sure there are still lots of single stack open guns gathering dust that would like to come out and play. Limited 10 - Leave it alone, it works great as is, again I have a couple of nice single stack 1911's, but I DO NOT like to shoot in Single Stack Division because of the holster & magazine location limitations. I have lots of 10 round mags for them, so I do like to shoot them in Limited 10. Production - Leave it alone, it works great as is, adding 5 more rounds is a solution to a non-existent problem. The Production Nationals are consistantly full, Area and Section matches have a great turnout. If your mags hold 18 rounds, you can still use them, just load them to 10 rounds and no need to buy new mags. Open Revolver - Again it's been asked where would these new shooters come from? I have a nice ICORE Open Revolver that I would bring out and shoot. I know at least 4 other shooters (who don't normally shoot USPSA) that would probably be happy to bring them to a USPSA match.
  5. Lots of good Buckmark info on Rimfire Central Magazine won't stay in Buckmark thread
  6. Why would you appoint someone with the name of "Rusty" to the position of Corporate Vice President of Quality for a firearms company? Freedom Group names new VP of Quality
  7. The old saying is "Laws are like sausages. It is better not to see them being made." This must be why they don't want you seeing how sausage is made! Manual Sausage Stuffer
  8. Congratulations to Julien Boit for 9th in Standard Division!
  9. I don't believe that would be to our benefit. Do you really want to dilute your vote by enabling those who are too lazy to mark a couple of X's on a ballot and drop it in their mailbox? Personally I feel if members can't take the trouble to spend 2 minutes filling out the ballot, putting it in the envelope and dropping it in their mailbox, they shouldn't have a voice in how the organization is run, nor should their complaints be heard.
  10. That was stage 24. Saul Kirsch has some videos here: Sauls World Report Stage 24 video JJ Eddy Saul
  11. Two cones for Showdown, one for each box.
  12. Birchwood Casey Barricade works well. I keep an aerosol can and a couple of large cleaning patches on top of my safe. A good spray of Barricade on the patch and each gun gets wiped down before it goes back in the safe. No rust problems. 10 oz Aerosol Barricade 4.5 oz Liquid Barricade For long term storage I give the gun a good coating of Barricade and then put them in Kleen-Bore VCI Storage Bags Kleen-Bore VCI Gun Storage Bags
  13. If the 155mm info is available online I'd be interested in reading if you have a link.
  14. I've seen the SV removable breachface cause the same failure. The bottom of the breachface was slightly proud of the slide disconnector rail and was dragging on the next round in the magazine. The drag marks were clearly visible on the brass. Once the breachface was stoned level with the disconnector rail the problem went away.
  15. Radio Shack carries a good selection of fuses This is the fuse I use It has a slightly higher amperage rating, but is close enough not to damage anything.
  16. I'm curious why you feel its more important to express your condescension rather than simply answer the question?
  17. You'll probably have to reshape the nose of the extractor to get it to reliably extract unfired rounds. Watch the extractor as you slowly let the slide go into battery and you'll see the extractor move outward as the nose of the extractor touches the extractor cutout in the barrel. Removing a little material and changing the angle of the extractor nose slightly will help. The chamber is so tight that unfired rounds are hard to extract and some brands of ammo fit tighter than others. I reamed the chamber with a Bentz profile ream and that also really helped reliability without much affect on the accuracy. Bentz Chamber Reamer
  18. The TacSol mags will work with a Marvel conversion, but you will have to modify either the slide stop or the magazine to disable the last shot hold open feature. The easiest method is to grind down the tab on the slide stop that hits the magazine, same as on a centerfire gun. The TacSol magazine is a little taller than other conversion magazines and may drag on the underside of the Marvel slide near the extractor pivot roll pin. Again you can modify either the slide or all of the magazines to clear. I milled a slight bevel into the slide for clearance, but it could also be filed or dremeled. Also the roll pin may drift up or down and drag either on the magazine on both Unit 1's & Unit 2's or the underside of the scope/sight rail on Unit 1's. Are the spent cases not being ejected or are they being left in the chamber? The Marvel is a blow back design so the extractor isn't really pulling the spent case out of the chamber like on a locked breach design, the spent case is pushing the slide back and the extractor is primarily used as a pivot point when the spent case hits the ejector.

  20. Have you looked at the CRTC Safety Mags? Cheaper and more durable than airsoft magazines. CRTC Safety Mags
  21. The only way to really know what the spring weights are, is to measure them using an SDM Fabricating Spring Tester or a homemade version of it. I've found a fairly wide range of spring rates between all the spring vendors and even within springs of the same rate from the same vendor. Find what spring rate you and your gun like and then use the Spring Tester to monitor the spring every time you clean your gun and to verify the spring rate of new springs.
