R34PER
As the title says, what are the most aggressive 1911 grips? I currently have the Magpul 1911 grips and I'm tempted to stipple them since they are only like $20. However, I would prefer to invest in some metal extremely aggressive grips similar the aggressiveness of 20lpi front and back strap checkering. RecoilJunkie
for 1911 you can get some VZ grips that have a very aggressive cut on them. There is also a company (I forget the name) that makes a grip for a 1911 that is as fat as a 2011 and you can get it stippled up.
R34PER
Is the silicone carbide the same as or similar to "skate tape"? If so for me, as my hands start sweating it becomes useless. I mean I really want to have to peel my hands off the grips when I complete a stage.
kcd19
this thread has some good info. http://www.brianenos.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=233466 VZ have some very nice options for the 1911
762rocstarr
Larry Davidson "shredder" grips. Most agressive grips I've ever had.
terrydoc
I've not heard of any really aggressive metal grips but the Techwell dual-tech are pretty good they sent the aluminium one by mistake so sent the G10 as well so I have both the G10 are more aggressive in my opinion. cooper74
If you like the feel of stippling, could get a cheap set of plastic grips and stipple them... worked great for me.
Aircooled6racer
Hello: The Larry Davidson Lazza grips in the Horned Lizard are pretty sharp. I found some similar on ebay since Larry does not make grips any longer. Thanks, Eric

Much better grip than this pretty rough/open stippling.

petrojc
Not metal, but the lava grips from Copper Gun Grips on my Witness Match are very grabby. I have a hard time getting it out of the zipper case in my shooting bag.
DagoRed
The VZ operator ii are seriously grippy. I have them on two guns and on both had to actuall sand them down some to take the points off otherwise they were too sharp. Definitely get the thumb scoop model, makes getting to the mag realease easier. I have a set of their alien too, I like them better. Very grippy but not painfully so Red
R34PER
Thanks for the suggestions so far. Has anyone used the very aggressive alumagrips?
taco101
VZ Recon's are really grippy. I think they look sharp as well. Edited May 22, 2016 by taco101
andrewtac
The 36 grit will cut you if you don't have calluses. My hands are worn, but the end of my pinkies not so much, I had to knock it down where my pinkies touched as it drew blood.
terrydoc
I think i went through about 10 different sets of either VZ or Techwell grips before I got what I wanted, no shop front sells the range over here and it's a matter of buy try and sell on. Jhp147
Info for anyone that wants Larry Davidson's grips. The company www.sgmgrips.com is now making grips with Mr. Davidson's original CAD/CAM drawings and features. I think I saw him post that he now has the Horned Lizard style up. They are really grippy but no cutting. . Edited May 24, 2016 by sheepdog
Ed Deegan
I love my simonich gunner grips. They are as very aggressive, light (always a concern with SS guns) and sturdy enough to use to mount the techwell magwell.
ricardo28
VZ simonich Gunner Grips. I had to file them down in a few spots and I have rough hands.
LilBunniFuFu
VZ aztec grips. Very aggressive plus the 20 LPI on the front strap and the gun doesn't move.
Dr Mitch
Hogue Pirhana grips are pretty aggressive, and come in multiple thicknesses.
JGus
I've gone through this exercise myself, trying to find the most aggressive grips for my 1911. I finally settled on the LOK Grips Roughnecks or the VZ Diamondback. They are the same thing. But definitely the most aggressive grips I've found. And I tried a lot. These are the LOK Grips Roughnecks on my Ford 1911 .40. Very aggressive. Identical to the VZ Diamondbacks. Edited May 25, 2016 by JGus
Shmella
Are there metal grips available or aluminum grips that have cuts similar to Infinity's aggressive micropockets? Does Infinity make a grip panel to mimick their steel double stack grips?
