  1. Dang it, I wonder if Glenn will let me trade in the SVI he sold me for.one of his. Anything he does is outstanding.
  2. Any stats on negligent discharges on striker versus single action? Not police, but understand that you cannot simulate stress of combat/real life. Training makes for brain stem power, eventually; aware of how little a majority of police officers train with weapons as well.
  3. Tripp was my experience, buy once cry once. They have outstanding customer service as well. You'll have them as long as you have the pistol.
  4. 40 Hornady case feeder that came with it, EVO
  5. Pro1000 to loadmaster to evolution. I'll still probably use the loadmaster for rifle. The evolution sure makes things quick, I run it while I work out or do other things at the same time, have more money now but less time than when I used the loadmaster.
  6. I had this too, my solution was to line the inside of the funnel with a couple layers of masking tape. I watched the shells in the funnel (after much trouble shooting); they were vibrating a ton in there, something was needed to dampen the vibration. Since I added I've loaded or processed about 15k with zero upside down.
  7. Got one in the mail today, just finished processing all my brass and put the other tool head back on to get ready to start loading. Now I need to wash all the brass. $10 isn't bad. I don't expect they will wear to fast now that I have the press figured out. The first spring probably made it 20k rounds.
  8. Anyone know where to get a spare spring that goes on the shell plate? Don't see it on the site, wasn't sure if it was something common I could get at a hardware store or something similar tomorrow.
  9. Correct done by the manufacturer, why an 80% doesn't have one. Once someone finishes it, needs one to transfer.
  10. You could probably get one from most anyone who builds custom 19/2011s. Start with an 80%, it has no SN.
  11. The washers go under the three screws that hold the bottom of it down.
  12. Good catch, I had rifle sight height of 1.5". Reran at 0.5" sight height; 5yds .21" low and at 50 2" low; one inch low at 41 yards. Still all well within the diameter of a steel plate out to 50 yards.
  13. Did you try the washers? Mine wouldn't index due to the primer system. My inner tube was to long evidently, since putting in washers zero primer issues at about 4k rounds. Maybe the tube is to short. I did use one size smaller than recommend for the washers.
  14. Using ballistics from a Hornady 180 grain xtp box load, a zero at 25 yds will result in one inch low at 5 yards, and one inch low at 50 yds; check your aim or flinch if your rounds are low.
  15. I settled on 1900 rph with dwell of 4 top and bottom with 40 and wst. Faster and sometimes bullets would fall of, maybe more bell. I could probably go faster, but that is plenty fast enough for me. I think it was effectively around 1400 rph. I let it run while I am doing something else, and monitor from a distance. A couple times doing something in the hangar and I have enough rounds for the month.
  16. They get gouged up. I would bet they are easier, slightly, on mags than steel magwells.
  17. Loading 40 on my Evo pro. Current sensors bullet and powder. I have just about all my empties loaded. I ordered a new tool head, and the offload funnel. My plan is to put a Lee u die with decap and swage hold down die in the new tool head, swap out tool heads and process my brass. I was thinking about a swagesense, would that stop the press if the decap doesn't work? Or do I need a decap sensor as well? I'll never run brass to be loaded that needs decapping (will always process first). I saw somewhere with the swage sense and something doesn't decap you have to empty to powder station (won't be a factor in my case, as decap will not be done when there is powder on the press).
  18. Concur, I got one of the first ones. I wish it worked out of the box, but as with anything in this sport I expect a bit of tinkering (especially when something is new). And I'd buy another if I needed another press. I believe they were overwhelmed as was I (life was getting in the way). I haven't shot a pistol in probably over a year now. I have loaded about 4k in the last couple days, press runs great now. Time to dry fire and get back at it.
  19. I have been away for sometime. Finally got back at my Evo today. First issue, unsolved from before, was every 50 or so it wouldn't index and it would double charge (powder sense caught it every time). Previously I adjusted paw height, dremeled it and polished it, made sure adjustment was right, cleaned and lubed the shell plate,no joy, sort of why I quit on it. Anyways, today when I fired it up, it was more like 1out of 10, which made troubleshooting easier. The primer chute was getting hung up. Tech support had sent me the primer install and adjustment instructions. It includes chamfering the hole, and the tube; that didn't work. Next it says try some number 8 washers as the tube might be long, well I tried 6 to start ( a little thinner). 30 cents later it has loaded about 1000 rounds no issues with that. A couple other things, Mr bullet feeder was out of adjustment, followed directions, works again. I had another odd thing happening, every 20-30 cases were being flipped in the chute as they came down, this results in the press hanging up and flinging a case out of the press. It was obvious it was happening but I couldn't figure it out why cases were flinging. I watched the chute for a bit and it looked like the cases were vibrating and jumping around as they went from the big part of the funnel to the small. I figured some dampening would help. I pulled the funnel off and out a bit if masking tape in the top portion of the funnel, damped now, no more flipped cases. So end of story I have a semi antonomous press now that runs like I want, just had to add $0.30 I parts and a couple prices of tape. Powder throw has been sufficient for 40 Cal, using wst.
  20. STI always seems to be the most popular, local, area, or major. I don't own one of them, but have seen many.
  21. Gary and Troy said mine was legal. Wasn't quite full length. I chopped the end to match the slide cut. It is right at 43 oz. If you don't cut it unless your slide is lightened it will probably be over weight.
