  1. Can someone take a photo of a Subcompact slide with a springer comp out front and a full-size grip module? Just curious if the length of SC Slide + Springer Comp = FS Grip. Doesn't have to be actually attached.
  2. I stumbled across Cameron's Custom Guns (http://cameronscustomguns.com/index.php/firearms/view/limited_6_gun/) while researching building my own 2011. Specifically their 6" 2011 Limited gun. Their designs look great and are very clean. The site says they have over 20+ year of experience building guns. Yet I cannot find much in terms of forum posts about them and no youtube videos showcasing their guns. Does anyone here on Enos have one and can give a review on them?
  3. In terms of function, reliability, and accuracy did you have any issues?
  4. It looks great to me. The only thing I would nit pick about is the end of the frame not lining up with the ball cuts?(curved cuts at the front) on the slide.
  5. Awesome thanks for the input! Would definitely like to see some pictures. What was tricky about fitting the frame to slide? Yes, you are correct the entire bottom half of the firearm would be brand new parts. Also, I planned on parkerizing the parts myself to match them to the slide and save cost. When you say it came out better but not as nice as you hope, can you elaborate what you mean?
  6. I'm fine with putting in extra time and work fitting things if the end result is quality. This is just for enjoyment.
  7. Why is that? Won't there be extra material on the frame that can be removed to match the barrel/slide?
  8. PT aluminum grip(non evo) is $300 CK arms classic wide body frame is $200
  9. I am considering purchasing a CK Arms classic wide body 2011 frame and fit it to my Springfield Armory Loaded 1911. If anyone has read my previous thread I am looking to try out limited but have a limited budget. Has anyone done this? The lockup on my SA is fantastic, so my thought would be to adjust the CK frame's rails/lug to fit the slide/barrel. Is this possible? I know building a whole new gun you would typically fit parts the other way around. One version of the parts list I was considering is: Wilson Slide Release Wilson Disconnector Wilson Ejector Wilson Hammer Wilson Mainspring Housing Wilson Pin Set Wilson Hammer Strut Wilson Plunger Tube Wilson Plunger Assembly Wilson Sear Wilson Spring Set Wilson Thumb Safety EGWJEM Grip Safety Pheonix Trinity Aluminum Grip CK Arms Classic Frame Wide Body Grip Brushings SVI 2011 Trigger + Insert STI 2011 Mag Release The total parts cost would be around $800. Although I still haven't decided on a magwell and magazines yet. The lower would also be in .45acp to match the slide/barrel. I've read all the comments in the past regarding .45acp in limited and not looking to debate that here.

  11. Thanks for all the input so far! Definitely appreciate the attempt from many of you to be unbiased. In terms of running "out of the box" to me means no need to permanently alter the firearm. Such as reshaping, filing, or refinishing. Also, no need to replace parts on the gun. Such as aftermarket magwell, safety, grips, recoil system, etc. I don't mind tinkering in terms of swapping different weighted springs, adjusting leaf spring tension, or adjusting pre travel/over travel. If those adjustments are preferences in the feel of the gun, not necessary for the gun to function properly. Needing to replace parts that wear out from use like springs, slide stops, bushings, etc is not a big deal. As long as it is within reasonable regular maintenance period, like once a year before the season starts. Given everybody's feedback so far it looks like STI Edge/Eagle and CZ TS are the clear favorites. Can anyone give direct comparison on overall performance, accuracy, recoil, trigger, etc? Looking at the past couple Limited Nationals surveys CZ/Tanfo doesn't even appear as a blimp. Are they even comparable in performance? I know Vogel crushes with a Glock, the gun's performance is only a very small part of the overall equation, etc. I just want to set myself up from the start so I don't notice the equipment and just focus on shooting.
  12. There is a gun store that is 1 1/2 hour drive away from me here in Ohio, that has a new Eagle .40sw in stock for $1,699.99. They also have a new Edge .40 sw in stock $1,999.99. I did not know the Eagle had been discontinued. The only 2011 I have shot was a former acquaintance's new STI 2011 Hex Tac 9mm 5.0. It was one of the limited edition baby shit brown slide, baby puke green frame that came out a few years ago before the official Hex line was released. In terms of grip it was a perfect fit, but I didn't care for the way 9mm recoiled in that gun. Not flat enough to be "motionless"(like a .22), yet not enough recoil to get into a consistent rhythm(like .45acp in a single stack).
  13. Is the quality/performance of STI out of the box significantly better than SPS/RIA even when factoring in price? Is there any benefit to the Eagle? $1999.99 for an Edge with 1 mag, after figuring in all additional costs (holster, mag pouches, mags, etc) it just barely fits in the budget.
  14. I'm interested in trying limited. 1911 pattern pistols are my favorite overall design. With CZ pattern pistols a close second. To start I want to shoot something right out of the box and not go over $2,000 budget. If Limited is the division for me and my competition gun budget increases I would consider having a custom gun built in a two or three seasons. In the sub $2000 category of 2011s how do the SPS Pantera .40sw (listed $1,599.99 but out of stock), RIA Pro Match HC .40sw (listed $920 out of stock), STI Edge .40sw (listed $1,999.99 in-stock) and STI Eagle .40sw (listed $1,699.99 in-stock) compare? Also for comparison sake lets throw in Tanfoglio Xtreme Limited .40sw (listed 1,995.99 in-stock) and CZ TS Orange .40sw (listed $1,799.99 in-stock). I've watch numerous youtube videos and read extensively through forum posts, but I would like some opinions on this comparison. As a side comparison between a STI Edge and STI Eagle, does the added frame weight/bull barrel or barrel bushing matter? What is the difference?

Those things are so sexy! Way better than Tanfoglio and Factory CZ guns.

I believe in the video he says, or at least the sign under each gun says prototype. I believe I heard somewhere it wasn't going to be a finished product till later 2017 and available for sale 2018. I could be wrong.

I think a czc gunsmithed P09 will hold me over till the czc a01. That thing looks amazing with the little info that's popping up. Plus, it will take P09 mags so I'll be covered. The people at CZC are fantastic.

    SHOT CZC 2017

Yeah, I did love the factory P09 I tried. The plan for this coming season is a czc p09 with lots of bullets. Then about half way through the season get a second czc p09 and a reloading press. Then re-evaluate next winter.

Now when you say in-stock are you referring to having them on the selves for you to order and receive in a week at your ffl, or are you referring to them having parts available and assembling them to order? They list the custom P09 out of stock, but when I contacted Stuart he said they could whip me up one in a few weeks. P.S. given my tight budget I figured a czc p09 + ammo would be an excellent choice to start getting serious with a cz platform for production and can move up to a shadow 2 in a year when finances improve.
  21. Knowing how the government contracting works through my business, I can assure you it wasn't a coincidence. Everything they've done was strategically for these government contracts and future contracts. What we got as a result is icing on the cake and help offsetting their costs. SIG could give a f*#$ about us when big daddy uncle sam warbucks is looking to make it rain.
  22. It explains why they have been ignoring us civilian and LE customers. They've been gearing up for this contract.
  23. That's cute. They cut holes in it and carved x-five into the side. Can't wait to see the arts and crafts project for next year...
  24. https://www.hudsonmfg.com The Hudson H9, just unveiled today. Brand new gun from a brand new company, or so their marketing says. It's a striker fired 1911 essentially! Could this be the new hotness or merely a pipe dream?
