Zmego
I am looking for a pair of shoes, not boots, to run at my local matches. Our range is sand/gravel mix. I have been looking at some "trail running" shoes but figured I would see what others are wearing during the warm summer months. What do you wear? I havnt had any issues since Ive gotten em...light weight & aggressive...https://www.google.com/search?q=salomon+speedcross+3+flying+tomato&client=firefox-a&hs=pqY&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ei=c-AIUp6JCKLlyAH91IGYAw&ved=0CAkQ_AUoAQ&biw=1280&bih=635#facrc=_&imgdii=_&imgrc=ZHmU_05CUz7s-M%3A%3B9uBj2nFG0Bg1ZM%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fcontent.racingtheplanet.com%252Fstore%252Fmedia%252Fcatalog%252Fproduct%252Fcache%252F1%252Fimage%252F5e06319eda06f020e43594a9c230972d%252F0%252F0%252F003-5099-btr_1500.jpg%3Bhttp%253A%252F%252Fwww.racingtheplanet.com%252Fstore%252Fsalomon-speedcross-3.html%3B1500%3B1500 I LOVE my "Flying Tomatoes" as my buddy's call em....... lol

Brian Payne
Speed Cross 3's here as well. I don't need them for my blazing burst of speed, but it sure makes quick stops and cuts while running a COF able to be done with more confidence. They have supplied good traction in every situation I have found thus far and they really shine in matches held on natural terrain.
Bentsight
Had to have something with a high top to protect my ankles, found an old pair of football shoes with rubber cleats. $5.00 at a garage sale, work great in all conditions and provide the required support for starts/stops/cuts. wgj3
Vibram Fivefingers. Getting to use your toes for balance/traction makes more difference than you can imagine.
davehorn
The salomons have worked well for me. Getting their new "fellraiser" from zappos today. Slightly more aggressive tread than the speedcross, lighter and less heel drop (helps a fat boy get going a little quicker). http://www.zappos.com/salomon-fellraiser-black-autobahn?zfcTest=fcl%3A0

ThomasM
Innov8 Mudclaws I really like the way those inov8 shoes look. How do you like them? I wanted to get some shoes that would give me traction but not screw me if I had to walk across a board or try to balance on something.
StraightUp_OG
I really like them. I was a Speedcross fan but the soles just wear out to fast. When I first got my Mudclaws I felt they were much to narrow and I was about to send them back. Then a buddy of mine that uses them said to wear them for a few hours and they would stretch. I did just that and they did! Now I am a loyal Innov8 guy but do be aware that they may be tight out of the box but with a little use they will stretch to fit just fine. I would also go a 1/2 size bigger I have had no issue with the different terrain that we see, planks, dirt, grass, rocks & mud they just eat it up. Dannybot
Columbia hightop hiking boots, Big Cedar model. Pretty comfortable, adequate insulation for near freezing temps, but still breathe well enough for triple digit heat. I thought they would provide good enough ankle support, but I did manage to rupture a tendon in my calf this spring wearing them. I still wear them, but more ankle support might not be a bad idea if you are some place with lots of uneven ground.

davehorn
Fellraisers came in yesterday, and after having two pair of speedcross, I think these are better for our purposes. Wider toe box, lower profile, and they seem to have a little more lateral support. Can't wait to try them on the range this weekend. I think the Inov-8s are pretty slick also. I have a pair I wear to work out in and love them . I went back and forth between the fellraiser and the inov8 mudclaw or xtalon. My only concerns with the Inov8s is that I know they are pretty minimalist type shoes, I was worried about their comfort/protection on gravel or rocky terrain.
