Starting with the third round, it jams, rather hard. Runs fine if there are only 10 rounds in the mag. Any suggestions? Its a 38 super.

I've been out of shooting for awhile and their website no longer seems to open up, nor does the phone number I have, work. Are they still in business? Could someone point out how to reach them, please?

SpB is s lovely town - had lots of fun there for a few weeks one winter - should go back sometime for the White Nights... If you know a decent man who likes shooting a friend of mine, lovely woman, lives there and she used to like shooting quite a bit. Mainly rifle though.

Any disadvantage of having a double stack instead of a single?
Aglifter replied to Bolt's topic in Miscellaneous BEginners
A) I like laser grips for carry, but I'm rather blind wo my glasses I THINK reloads help new shooters have time to think through a stage - but I would still get a double stack first -
929 and brass......Why it should only hurt once......

Revolver shooters, pretty much, always get heir brass back, don't they? -
I'm very fond of my VIP in 38 Super. About the same size as a G23 though, if not a little larger. Of that list, I'd go w STI. I'm not familiar with Dan Wessons, I am familiar enough with current Kimber's to suggest staying far, far away - frankly, their guns are so bad, someone should probably bring a class-action suit against them for deceptive trade practices.

Anyone seen a net to put on the ground for brass collection?
Aglifter replied to bofe954's topic in Gear & Accessories
A casting net for bait might work as well -
I have my G21 to my brother and bought a G41 for myself.

I've gotten them at Lowes

The largest grip I've found, is on my G41, that I put the large beaver tail on. I would talk to SVI about a custom steel grip. I know one shooter who epoxied 1911 grip panels to the side of his STI grip.

As a new shooter, a Glock is a great idea - if needed, there will be someone at most matches to help w spares, extra mags, holster, etc. Otherwise, jump in the deep end of the pool, and go w a 2011. But, really, get a Glock. You can't really lose money on it, too much, if you don't like it, and it won't hold you back, barring matches w. very long shots, at which point, you may need a better barrel.

Best budget shotgun for self defense in home?

I'm a member of s small forum called theguncounter.com It may be a good place to look for advice - the membership is a bit left-brained, nerdy, and tend to mostly know one another, though. -
I've shot a match like that which was hosted in a "shoot house" of sorts. It went fine, I think, because there was professional and in the ball staff all around to talk you through the course, if you got lost, and you knew, essentially, that you had to go from one room to the next A typical USPSA stage would be a disaster, blind.
-
Hmm. So no matches in that area?
-
It looks like I will be spending some/most of the winter there.

good idea? Bad idea? Useless? I've put pasters or dots on plates before, trying I teach myself to hit the center of the plate - which sorta works but the pasters sometimes fall off rather than get taken out by a hit Has anyone tried facing a plate rack w cardboard?

Figured I'd update this - still make ice cream. http://republicicecream.com We're moving into our new plant now, hopefully will open 1/1/15. I'm "active", but I never really bothered to do anything as an attorney. -
In a slow motion video of JM shooting a semi-auto (he was in front of a test pattern of some kind), his finger comes fully forward.

Odds are, they need to be pacified - I can try it w my rusty mags, but I haven't had an issue once I used Boeshield. Not sure if trying to passive them will help w a magnetic grade if stainless.

Skipping rope is usually considered a way to increase foot speed, FYI.

Bad day at the range yesterday - Edge goes KABOOM

Would firing out of battery do that on a pistol? I had an AR10 do that, and it did quite a bit of damage to the gun. -
Pf, correlates to inertia which is just about momentum and impulse in this situation. The only real difference might be that a heavier/stronger bullet, at slower speed seems to transfer more of that momentum to the plate, and spend less on fragments flying everywhere.
