  1. I tighten mine by hand and then loosen just enough to let the plate rotate easy but have no play when pushing down on the plate. The press runs better for me like that.
  2. What is your load? I am loading 10.3gr N105, 125 Haps, 1.235 OAL, WIN SRP for 173 PF on starline 38sc brass and mine look good.
  3. What platform do you shoot know? I have been shooting limited with an Brazos and just switched to open last month. Having never shoot open I did not want to experment, I just wanted to shoot. I got the Brazos open in 38sc and could not be happier. Get a gun that will shoot and work on shooting, not the gun.
  4. When I shoot limited or open with an STI based gun I clean the mags everytime they hit the ground. When I shoot production with a Glock g34 I never clean the mags just wipe it off on my pants leg. Cleaning the mag is not a big deal, part odf shooting the STI guns. Having said all that I like shooting the STI guns better than G34 even with the mag cleanings.
  5. Talked to Rick , I have been waiting on the 9 also. He said he has gotten a licence agreement with some body to help with manufacturing because he can not keep up. They are changing the design and should have them by mid MAY. He also said that new the ones will interchange parts with the old. The bullet dropper and hopper is diffrent. I will try to attach a picture he sent me.
  6. Mine is about 1 1/2 turns up from buttom on an EDGE and has not broken in about 3 years and 28,000 rounds
  7. I run a 15# wolff recoil spring and the factory striker spring and factory trigger spring with the 3.5# connector. My trigger pull is right at 3.75 pounds. when I put a lighter striker spring it drops down to about 3.0# but mushy. I dont like the feel. As said you can not run a heavy trigger spring and light striker spring. I would put the factory trigger spring back in if I were you.
  8. I do the same as kevin C I put some alcohol in a spray bottle spray on a towel put loaded ammo on towel spray alittle more and rub around in towel. takes maybe 5 min. for 1000 round and no media in the hollowpiont of the rounds
  9. Bought one last week at IKEA works perfect for the 1050.
  10. What I did to adjust the swagger was to cut a piece of brass in half, that way there is no guessing. Put the cut brass in and adjust.
  11. I think I am going to try a backpack, I have orderd this on so I will let you know how it works out. Has anybody else used this back pack. http://www.nrastore.com/nrastore/ProductDetail.aspx?c=18&p=SA+20027&ct=e
  12. Having loaded on both the 650 and 1050 I can tell the the 1050 is the way to go. I have since sold my 650 and bought conversions for the 1050. I can load 38sc, 40, 45. If you can affort it get the 1050.
  13. It is usefull. My eyes are starting to go I need to get them checked. I can see great at distance but I need reading glasses. I bought a pair at cvs until I can get my eyes checked. So I am in the same boat sorta. I just need to frigure out what I need to see the sights better. Maybe that is why I cant wait until my open gun get here.
  14. Is he still backed up on 9mm? I ordered back in June 2011. Talked to Rick on the phone in August and found out about the supplier issue. Emailed him a couple of times in Sept/Oct timeframe and never got a response. Sort of figured something else was going on and gave up on trying to get one. Anybody know the current status? Talked to Rick last week, I also am waiting on the 9/38. He said we is not sure when they will be ready. He said that a new CNC machine will be deleverd on Dec 20 to someone he was talking to and maybe it wont be to long after that. once he gets the parts he said he will get the orders out.
  15. Just got a call my bulletfeeder is on the way. Cant wait
  16. I have a S1050 with about 6,000 rounds loaded with it and it also has the thunk when there is brass in the resize station. I have double checked everything, it is good. Its loads great ammo so I just learned to live with it. One other thing I noticed is the tool head seems loose to me at the top of the upstroke is turns to the side slightly but as I said it work great.
  17. like they said get on the list and wait. I orderd in Aug. and was told about 15 weeks. looks like I will get a good christmas present.
  18. Dont be I have shot the NRA alot and it is a match I like to shoot. You will have lots of fun, be hooked and cant wait to shoot it again.
  19. I use the GRX push through on a single stage press. I works so good that I dont case gauge anymore and have not had any trouble.
  20. I had trouble with primers getting kicked out the back of the 1050 not priming the case, never crushed them. Tried all the adjustments I could and then called Dillon. Told them what it was doing and he said there was some presses that got sent out with the primer slide not machined just right and sent me a new one. Installed the new primer slide and have loaded about 3,000 with not trouble at all. Dillon customer service is great, they will work with you.
  21. Thanks for the help I guess I will sell the mag and get one for 38sc.
  22. I just upgraded from a 650 to a 1050 about 3 months ago, I will admit it takes a little time to get dialed in, but when you do it is so much easier than the 650. Priming, pulling the handle, it is all better. If you can swing the 1050 do it you wont regret it.
  23. Same here I just opened a new 4# jug of 320 and thought what the heck, I will chrono the new jug. It was the same as the old jug did not change a thing.
  24. I know you said you want to pick the parts and have the gun built, but there is so many different parts and being new to the S_I line. If it were me I would get the High Performance Edge from Brazos and shoot it for a while. Then after shooting it you can better understand what you like and dislike.
