  1. I use 4 total. 3 on the belt a 1 in the gun for both limited and open. You may never need that many, but you will have them if you do. I was shooting a match and going into the last position you had to jump up on a platform. When I did I flubbed the reload and the mag went through the air, and off the platform. If I did not have the extra mag I would have been screwed.
  2. The recoil masters are color coded. Orange is a heavy and green is a light recoil master.
  3. I could be wrong but I think I read on DAA web sight that they only sell the magnet version now. Shooters connection only sells the magnet version
  4. Also check the Allen head bolt on the left side of the press on the main shaft #13685 it need to be tight. Dillon recommends to use BLUE Loctite on this bolt to keep it tight.
  5. Yes I have done it several times, it is a chromed steel comp. I don't use the heat I just use hot tap water. The cleaner runs about 3 min a cycle and it takes about 3 cycles. In between each cycle I just take a q-tip and run it in the ports of the comp. I let it run as I clean the rest of the gun. This is with the Brazos T2 comp which is a barrel and comp in one.
  6. I use a sonic cleaner with 50/50 water and simple green, comp comes out looking new.
  7. Has anybody heard when the squad matrix or stages are going to be posted? The web site has not been updated and the match is July 17-19
  8. If you are buying a new open gun, I would pick the caliber you want and buy the gun in that caliber. The 2 most popular calibers are 9 major and 38 super/supercomp. Mixing calibers in the barrel may be ok but why. Pick a caliber get the gun and work on your shooting.
  9. Its not the powder. I am using the Hornady Haps and they are .356. I loaded up some minor loads with Hornady XTP they are .355. I hade the same thing happen the bullets were loose in the case. Did some checking and found out that Dillon uses the same expander F for 380, 9mm, and 38super/supercomp. When you adjust the expander down like you should for the swager, the expander goes to deep in the case and expands it to where the bullet is loose. Lucky I was using the .356 haps and didn't have a problem, but when I went to the .355 xtp that is where it showed up. I had to pull 300 round and reload them. I backed out the expander and all was great. I load on a 1050.
  10. I have a Brazos 5" open in 38sc, I had a chance to shoot his Pro sx which is a shorty. I ran my gun on the stage and then ran the Pro sx, I shot the pro sx faster and had better hits. Needless to say I have a Pro sx on order. Also they both were 38 sc loaded with N105 and 125 bullets
  11. Same here I tried a shield and you loose the dot if not centered. So I took the shield off
  12. I have to re-zero each time I changed the dot module. I have a laser bore sighter the one that is a bullet that you drop in the barrel. When I change the module I use the laser and I can get the dot almost perfect. You would still need to check it but it is so close I have shot matches like that. I also use it to check that my zero has not moved.
  13. I like the 8 I tried a 6 but in bright sun I had to turn the dot to max and it gets the star affect. So I went back to 8 and never have that problem again.
  14. 25 yards and also check to see where it hits at 5yds 10yds 15yds 20yds
  15. I load 38sc on a 1050 and have switched back to the Dillon. Never had a bullet fall over yet. I did not like the MBF for the sticking also.
  16. Can you tell how much space is needed for this setup. What I am looking for is the total depth. Thanks
  17. That is the same load I use except I run 10.5 N105, But I have 4 poppel holes. I shoot a Brazos gives me about 172 pf
  18. I shoot 38sc and use the Hornady 125 hap with N105. If you have some or can get it I would try N105
  19. Thought I would breath new life into this poll, as I have changed from curved to flat. Has anybody else made the change?
  20. If you have a postal scale you can set the spring on the scale and push down on the spring and see what the scale says. Not perfect but gets you close.
  21. I put the loaded rounds on a towel and spray with alcohol and rub down. takes about 5 min to clean 1,000 rounds
  22. I zero mine at 25 yards, I run a traditional mount. After I zero at 25 I then shoot at 5, 10, 15, 20 to see where it hits. I am only about 1 inch low at 5 yards and about 1/2 inch low at 10. Everything else is dead on.
