  1. Do you reload? if not I would start in production, shoot for a while and look into reloading. Get a good belt and holster for production If you shoot Limited and dont reload you will be at a disadvantage for limited in 45 for power factor and mag. capacity.
  2. I have been playing with other shooters guns and 1 had a short curved trigger and that felt good. Looking at my finger on the trigger it is not square with the long curved. I have put a short curved trigger in and a factory grip with a single under cut and that fells good. I wear a large glove but my fingers are a little shorter than some other people I have talked to. I will shoot this combo some more, so far its fells good.
  3. Ok I have been playing around with different grips on my EDGE, factory, factory and undercut, stippled, stippled and undercut just have not been happy. I have gone back to factory with a single undercut and like that the best. Looking at the last 2 Front sights, of top guns at the Nationals only 5 out of the top 12 they showed had any undercutting. None of them were the winning guns. I know that a higher grip on the gun is better for recoil control, but if your hand is up tight to the beaver tail will undercutting get your hand higher or just change the point of the gun. What is the real benifit to undercutting the grip?
  4. I have shot this drill both #1 and #2 several times, funny thing the match I shoot this past weekend classifier stage was 09-11 razors edge 6 targets with no shoots, 1 shoot each. I shoot my best classifier score 82%. Having shoot the drill I think helped me alot.
  5. When I started I was slow compaired to others so I started shooting faster. My score went in the tank, lots of D's and M's I slowed down and started shooting more for accuracy. Now after shooting a lot of matches my speed is up and so is my score. I think there is more time to be made up in how you shot the stage and move through it as compaired to how fast you can pull the trigger.
  6. I am using small rifle primers because that is what I use for Limited and I dont have any small pistol primers
  7. I have been practicing with the short curved trigger and like it so far. I will be shooting it in a match this sunday and will let you know how it turned out. Also what do you all think of a arched mainspring housing? I wear a large glove but have short fingers.
  8. The open end is the end that looks like the spring is cut. The closed end is that, it is closed to a round circle. does not look cut. The open end goes toward the muzzle.
  9. I dont use Titegroup but I just worked up a steel load. The load I setteled on is N320 4.8 gr winchester small rifle primer Hornady XTP 155 OAL 1.220 crimp .421 win brass This load gave me 131 PF from my Brazos Limited gun. This might help get you a starting place. It worked fine with a 12# recoil spring, but I will try with 10# spring next time
  10. I just signed up for the PRO AM in july and need to work up a minor steel load for my EDGE. I have searched and could not come up with anything great. I load N320 and MG 180 jhp I would like to keep with the MG 180 but I also have CLAYS. Would clays be good for minor loads or just stay with N320. I load long 1.220 so not sure what power or charge would be best. If CLAYS will be safe at minor I might go with that. I think I will start at 2.5 gr with the Clays and 3.0 with N320. I am looking to get about 140 pf I also have a 10# and 9# spring to play with also. Any thoughts would be helpful.
  11. I shoot a EDGE with the long curved trigger and had a chance to handle a short curved trigger, It felt good. I am playing with a short curved trigger now and was wondering what other people shoot. My finger is 2 7/8 inches long from the web to tip. I fell like I can get my finger square to the trigger now with the short curved, also I might like to try a short flat trigger to. So my question is how long is your trigger finger and what kind of trigger do you shoot?
  12. I put a Dawson FO rear sight on my G34 with the FO front. To distracting for me, The rear stood out to much. It is an adjustible sight so I did not want to buy another. I know have blacked out the FO rear. You can try it if you like and if you dont like it just black out the FO.
  13. Use the Factory mags. I never had a problem with them, I change the mag springs once a year with the wolff spring for cheep insurance. I dont even clean them when the hit the ground, just wipe them off on my pants and reload.
  14. N320 and MG 180 jhp has been great for me
  15. Hornady 230 HAPS N320 5.0 grains CCI large pistol primers Win Brass 1.230 OAL .470 Crimp This load shoots 172pf from a factory barrel G21
  16. Hornady 6th edition shows Tightgroup load for the 230 HAPS at 4.3gr at 700 fps up to 5.2gr at 850 fps with a 5 inch barrel and 1.230 OAL
  17. The Load I use for my G21 is Hornady 230 HAPS N320 5.0 grains CCI large pistol primers Win Brass 1.230 OAL .470 Crimp This load shoots 172pf from the factory barrel. I never trim brass, I shoot it until I loose it or it splits
  18. "The aggressive micro-pockets are very aggressive" Yes they are, a fellow shooter had a new open gun with this grip and let me play with it. I would call this grip a blood donner grip, it was sharp, had like minnie points on it. This coming from a guy who likes the factory STI grip just undercut and some Progrip
  19. I have a G21 with over 90,000 rounds through it, still going strong. Buy AMMO or invest in reloading equipment and reload your own.
  20. How do you like N320 I have a friend that loves N320 with 230 hornady FMJRN. What reload data are you using with HAP? I like the 320 may load is 230 Hornady Haps 5.0 N320 CCI 300 large pistol primers 1.230 OAL Win brass .470 crimp This gives me about 173 pf from the factory barrel. I also use N320 for 40 so having 1 powder helps.
  21. I have chrono a G34 with Federal American Eagle 124 and 147. The AE 124 chronoed at 135pf and the 147 chronoed at 147pf from a factory barrel Blazer alum. 115 was at 131pf
  22. Are you just target shooting or do you need to make major power factor? I like the Hornady HAP in 230 the best. I use N320 but have used CLAYS also Have loaded a ton of 45 for the G21 with no trouble at all. CLAYS is very soft shooting with a 230 if just loading to target shoot.
  23. I have 2 from Brazos and could not be happier. They are Limited guns and have run perfect.
  24. Wow, that's lucky. The last time I ordered from Zero I waited six months and only got half the order (still waiting, over a year now) because the other half is a lower demand bullet. R, Do you think Zero's are better than MG? If supply was not a problem which would you preferred
