  1. I gave up a bit of precision for speed when I went with a Little Crow Worlds Finest Trimmer for .223, and I am considering buying one for 6.5 and .308, but I dont think it is that much of a sacrifice. I have since switched do a Dillon RT1500 for .223 and it seems quite precise to me. The WFT indexes off of the shoulder of the case, so if the case is properly sized the trim it does will be uniforming the neck length which is the most important factor.
  2. I had the same issue, so I removed the block and sanded the BACK side of it where it contacts the body of the holster, which allows the block to come up further so that the trigger guard hook moves further out of the way. Don't monkey with the hook side more than necessary to contour it to your trigger guard or it may not retain the gun well.
  3. I just got in on this deal myself. I have about 6k 5.56 cases to load up this winter. I am thinking about getting 5k Bobs' Bullets 55gr FMJ to load with this powder. Brass processing costs aside, component costs to load .223 will be under 15 cents each. Primers 2.5 cents (less actually since most were bought on sale) 7.7 cents per bullet and powder about 4.65 cents.
  4. I finished sizing, swaging and trimming this box of 5.56 brass. I also annealed the last 2,000 or so rounds of 5.56 brass and at some point this week it will be added to this box, which should make it close to 6k rounds of fully prepped brass. I just need to wet tumble all of it to get lube and shavings off, then it will get hand primed while watching TV this winter. That makes for some very quick loading on my XL650 with bullet feeder.
  5. Do you use their carbide "ring" type die, or the full length carbide sizing die? The full length carbide costs like $150, but it will size a lubed .223 case with as little effort as it takes to size a straight wall pistol case. I sized/trimmed 5,000 .223 cases today and I just use the liquid lanolin oil isoheet mix as lube. I use an old Super Clean spray bottle with the mix and spray 3 or 4 shots into a Ziploc bag before adding brass and shaking it up. Doing it that way gets almost no lube inside the necks, but they size smoothly. I annealed all of my brass before sizing, which seems to make the sizing a smoother operation.
  6. I put one in my CK to replace the one that had the grooved bump on it and I like it a lot more.
  7. I have run the regular Berry's 115gr plated bullets up over 1500fps out of my open guns, surprisingly with no signs of the bullets coming apart
  8. RMR bullets are great, but the MPR isn't ideally suited for open use unless your barrel has a crazy long throat. Precision Delta JHP's can be loaded longer, but Everglades V2 can be loaded longer yet. If I were to do it all over again I would only use the Everglades V2 bullet, but I have over 12,000 of the PD's to use first.
  9. When you zero your scale with the powder pan on it, keep track of the negative reading on the scale when the pan is not on it. That gives you a frame of reference from one load session to the next. On my Gempro 250 it reads -110.98gr when my metal pan isn't on it, and if it reads anything else I recalibrate.
  10. They are all such different profile bullets that it affects the way they need to be loaded. You must have bought them quite some time ago if you got the plated hollowpoints because they've been discontinued for quite some time. I just wanted to make sure you were using the bullets you thought they were.
  11. Something is wrong with this statement. RMR makes Match Winners, Hollow Points, and plated bullets, but not a combination of any of those things.
  12. 7.8gr of HS6, 8.8gr of 3N38 of 7.7gr of Silhouette at those lengths with a 124. 8.6gr of HS6, 9.4gr 3N38 or 8.3gr Silhouette with a 115 at the same length. I have used AA7, but never with anything but an Everglades V2, using 10.5gr at 1.165"
  13. I run PD 124's and 115's at 1.145" in my CK.
  14. The 507's were recalled because of issues. Holosun has since fixed the problem.
  15. Loading some 6.5 Creedmoor today I had an extreme spread of .12gr from highest to lowest over a 50 charge session with my Gen 6 using H4350. Is that consistent enough for you?
  16. I wont run Aguila because most of it has a very deep cannelure type crimp pressed into it.
  17. The 27 is for USPSA open division requirements, but they have screwed around so long that everyone has just gone ETS or went with extensions. It would certainly be nice to have an inexpensive reliable mag over 40rds.
  18. Yes. My oversized Eggleston don't fit
  19. I can't imagine using anything else on my open gun anymore.
  20. 37 degrees, no wind, there were other shooters, I was back and left about 6" and sensitivity 1.
  21. Two different range outings with hundreds of rounds fired, and only one round of suppressed rifle fire didn't get picked up.
  22. I only use my ultrasonic cleaner for my suppressor baffles. A wet tumbler with pins is the way to go.
  23. I bought a full-size USPSA silhouette target from Range Master Steel and it is the nicest steel target I have ever seen. Their target base and hanger are also very nice.
  24. RMR hardcore match were my favorite bullets; they are sadly discontinued. Their "lesser" plated bullets are still good. I have about 15k of Berry's stockpiled and I like them for standard velocity loads, just not for 9major. PD is the way to go for JHP for bang for the buck; especially if you get their blems. I paid 7.3 cents each for blems, so I bought 10k of them.
  25. Tiger is an amazing person to deal with.
