  1. Thanks for posting this feedback. I will order a replacement module because I have one on my PPC that starts going dim after only being on for 4+ hrs of use (one match).... Thanks Again...This is helpful for me...Mark
  2. What would be interesting is to learn the history of where that rounds life started and where it has been....Wild to think that piece of brass is almost 80 years old....and is still usable....
  3. Great question OP - As I have wondered this myself in years past...
  4. Well stated Sir - Well stated.... But my first choice is CCI - I have gotten used to the way they “feel” when I am loading and can usually tell if something is not “right”....
  5. I have loaded XTreme bullets (mainly the 124gr FMJ) for 10 years and their quality has been very consistant....I started with XTreme because they used to offer free shipping but that changed like everything in this world does. I bought until they ran out earlier this year and then when they managed to get re-stocked they went up on their price and their shipping... I hated to leave them and after everything settles down maybe they will reduce their prices some...I used to by 20k-30k bullets each year from them duing their 10%-20% off sale around Black Friday and they always shipped FAST....That also ended several years back.... Good company and Brenda in their CS division is the BEST.....
  6. I also started using a Lee U die and I cannot tell you when I have had a case fail (since switching)....Very cost effective way to manage this issue...
  7. Again - I think my battery life issues has to do with me running a 12MOA dot at the highest brightness level most of the time.
  8. I prefer to use the click switch on all of my C-More sights and use the aluminum units on my rifles and the polymer body units on my pistols to save that small amount of weight.....
  9. Both of my C-More sight systems that I use on my rifles will eat through a brand new Duracell or Energizer Lithium battery in two eight stage sessions if I do not turn the unit off between stages....I run a 12MOA click switch on both of mine and when shooting I run both on the next to brightest or brightest setting when I am actively shooting each stage.... I am guessing it is because the 12MOA and the brightest setting puts a huge pull on the fresh batteries I am using....The 6MOA on my pistol lasts an entire season....Mark
  10. Baragasam - If I may ask can you tell me the exact bolt assembly you purchased at Lowes (Lowes part number or at least the bolt thread pitch and length)? I ask so that I can go and purchase a couple of sets of these bolts now and change out my bolts when my EVO arrives next week....Thanks Mark
  11. Baragasam - Your post is great as I too was planning on eventually setting up a 223/5.56 conversion for my EVO....I like you clean my mixed range brass in a small electric concrete mixer and up until now I have processed and loaded my 223/5.56 rounds on a two pass process on my 650.... As I also have a single stage RCBS press on my bench I might try to de-prime and re-size the 223/5.56 on it (I know this means loading and unloading each round by hand unless I do this on the 650) then clean the brass and remove the case lube and then load (without trimming) my 223/5.56 on the EVO in one pass....All of this will be down the road so I will continue to read more on this topic as others post their experiences.....
  12. I cannot argue with this statement egd5 one bit.....Very good point Sir....
  13. IMO - again just my opinion - if I had two squibs in the first magazine, one of two things are happening - not enough power for the round to function in your pistol (larger diameter bullet than your pistol barrel can manage based on how the rounds are loaded) or you have a questionable batch of ammo so I would pull the remaining rounds, dump the unknown powder, and save the primed brass and projectiles. I would also measure the bullet diameter on a handful of these loaded rounds and then slug your barrel to see what measurements you get and bring that back to this group for advice on what to do or not do.... A squib could destroy your handgun and/or seriously hurt you....Two squibs in one mag would be the indicator that I would not attempt to fire another one of these rounds in that specific pistol....Just my opinion.....Good Luck and Be Safe....Mark
  14. As I am over 60 years old and my eyes are not what they used to be I have often wondered if a GREEN Dot Diode in my C-More sight systems would lend itself to allowing me to pick up the dot faster? I currently utilize their 12 MOA in the various weapons I shoot in SCSA and I understand that the green diode might not run as long on a single battery but I might not have to run it as bright as I do the red.... Anyone know if C-More is or has plans to develop a green diode for their shooting systems or is my simple minded idea much more complicated to accomplish that I realize due to the differences in the technology that is required for green dot/laser technology? Thoughts/Comments
  15. GrumpyOne - Sorry Sir - my mistake...It will not happen again......
  16. They are running behind on all of their orders and development processes due to COVID. I ordered an Evolution two months ago and I am being told that it could be December before it ships, if they get the parts they need....I get it - I do not like it - but I understand it is not directly their fault....And I agree with the above comments - I would rather wait than receive an incomplete or not ready for launch product....
  17. Again just a comment - I find it odd that anyone can ship ammo so long as you identify the package contents and follow the required labeling guidelines but when it comes to primers the regulations are so much more strict. Not trying to generate an argument just one of those things that seems odd.
  18. Candiru - If I may ask what continuing issues are you having with the MA dies. I just purchased a couple of MA dies but have not mounted because my EVO has not delivered yet.....
  19. Great idea especially with the cost of 1/2 lb. of powder you have to scrap with each breakage (if you do not catch it immediately)....
  20. OuterLimits - I am guessing that these component manufacturers will focus their primary demand planning on the ammo companies that have orders for millions or rounds of primers vs. the reloading suppliy houses like MidSouth, Graf’s, PV, and others whose normal demand would be signficantly less. When President Trump wins in two weeks the PANIC around ammo should start to settle quickly giving the ammo companies the opportunities to restock their inventories and their pipeline to their distributors. I could see this entire process taking six to twelve months to complete. The current ammo demand from end users will fall off the table as soon as they announce President Trump is re-elected and many will try and resell what they purchased over the past four months as PANIC prices....Seen this happen to many times....Yep I am old......
  21. WOW - This news and seeing that Powder Valley is now limiting orders to 1000 primers that comes out to costing almost $70.00 per thousand delivered (and that is right now - who knows where this price will be in 3-6 months) this is going to put a huge damper on centerfire reloading.... I bet when President Trump wins in two weeks all of this will turn around sooner rather than later...I will be doing my part on November 3rd to insure he wins....
  22. Sorry guys for the duplicate posts above. Every time I hit the submit reply button it told me I could not post and needed to wait 9 seconds before resubmitting...So I did that several times as you see.... Was trying to get the word out on the primers at PV but I think the issue with the duplicate posts also caused a delay in my post appearing.....Again sorry...Mark
  23. Federal Small Pistol and Federal Small Rifle primers in stock right now at Powder Valley
