  1. Guys - Only one thought as I read this thread related to primer drawback - not sure if you were aware that Will at FW Arms just introduced a spring loaded decapping die called the Primer Popper that virtually eliminates all primer drawback...I am running one on my EVO and so far it has worked flawlessly. Just thought I would mention as he has the unit on sale right now with free priority shipping....Mark https://fwarms.com/shop/reloading/pre-order-fw-arms-primer-popper-auto-case-centering-decapper-deprimer/ Sorry Guys - I Just saw where Will posted in the description of this part that he just ran out of stock but will have more in stock next week (around 12/14) when he gets parts back from the plating company.
  2. Also talk to the folks you shoot with - especially if they are older - A guy who shoots in my monthly match knows I reload because after each match he would see me picking up brass that is left on the ground. He told me he was getting out of reloading and was sending his Dillon 450 (yes he confirmed he had a Dillon 450 press) to his grandson along with his extra lead and brass but could not ship the primers or powders. Offered me the primers he had for $30.00 per thousand.....Needless to say I was able to pick up some spp, lpp, and lpp-magnum. Funny thing - he had several ziplock bags that had several hundred loose primers in them that he said he could not remember the size or brand or type that he offered to me but I passed on those....and all of his powder canisters had been opened and used so not knowing for certainty that the powder inside was just that powder I also passed on the 6 open containers of various powders at $15 per container.....
  3. Guys - Found what I was looking for at Range Panda - sorry for this post
  4. Whatever you decide to do you might want to order your Dillon press and/or accessories before December 31 because I just received my Jan/Feb Blue Press and the price of the 750 press is going up over $140 (new price starts at $679) and the RL1100 is going up $100 (new price is $2099). I did not look at accessories but Dillon usually goes up 5%-7% per year on all items...
  5. RIFLMAO - That one made me laugh out loud
  6. Me also - Love 231 - 3.6grs under my 124gr Xtreme FMJ....
  7. Michael Landrum at Mark 7 is the nicest guy. He helped me adjust the advance arm on my press after two calls (because I did not get it the first time) but he never lost his patience with me. I was only on hold for 2-3 minutes before he answered the phone and actually responded to an email this morning before 8 a.m. that I sent through their on line assistance link at about 5 a.m. this morning..... As for the press - I am one day away from giving it a trial run of 400-500 bullets...My Dillon variable case feeder arrived and it fit the factory pole perfectly and the provided Hornady case feeder feed tube snapped right in also so within 5 minutes of unboxing the Dillon variable speed case feeder it was feeding cases..... As for the powder measure I received - Michael reconfirmed that it is the new unit provided with all Evolution units and its accuracy should be as good as the earlier version....I was told I could not return it for an upgrade unless I was going to a digital auto feed powder measuer and I am not.....Thats ok - I need to “let it go” that I did not get what I wanted and they advertised and use what they provided because Michael said it is a very good powder measure.... I will be hooking up my MBF and my Double-Alpha powder check and then I will be ready to give this jewel its first run..... I appreciate all of the support, feedback, and comments...I have no regrets selling my NIB - RL1100 to fund this loader...I view this to be an investment that will last me a lifetime....Mark
  8. For future purchases you might want to consider Ben Stoeger Pro Shop. He carries a lot of Dillon and non-Dillon reloading and shooting items and has very reasonable shipping costs - and he ship SUPER fast. I have had orders ship the same day I ordered.....and he is a super good guy in my book....Mark
  9. Titegroup for pistol 1680 is a great sub-sonic powder for 300 B/O and as others have said more than once - VARGET
  10. Cuz - For me I decided that I had to have a powder check die on every toolhead I own because after having a squib (still not sure how or why but it was from one of my reloads and I do not know if it was a short shot of powder or no powder) I decided I would not load another round without a powder check in place....That was over 10 years ago and I have not had another squib since...I also have not had a powder checker alarm either and I average shooting about 5k-8k reloaded rounds a year through all of my guns..... No fun beating a projectile out of a SIG pistol barrel but I had to do it......once.... Peace of Mind for me.....
  11. Sorry guys - Forgot to ask. Can anyone provide guidance and a possible link to a good clamp on mirror system that others are using with your MBF and Case Feeder systems please...Thanks Mark
  12. Thanks guys for the content in this thread. I just ordered the pipe adapter from Range Panda for my MBF.....Gonna mount mine from the side wall in my reloading area...Mark
  13. You can call me a Dumb A** for what I am about to say - but I really want a powder measure like the one that everyone here has to date. I emailed Misty and Sydney at Mark 7 three days ago to ask if I can "upgrade" from what I received to the old CNC style - still no response from either. I guess I will put a WTB ad in the classifieds here for the old style to see if anyone has one still NIB that they ordered for a caliber conversion or if someone went to the digital model. I will keep the one I received (I guess) since I guess it is what they are shipping now with the EVO manual systems......It's the OCD in me....and I am old.... and stubborn....
  14. UPDATE - Just received a call from Michael Landrum at Mark 7 and he advised that the item I received above is the newest version powder measure that is shipped when someone orders the Evolution manual system without the Pro upgrades (planned automation). He said the "missing arm and spring" on the side of the powder measure is not missing because all EVO manual systems ship with powder measures that only contain one arm and one spring (really - is this true?)..... At this point if I can find a way to order another arm, spring, bolts, and spacers my plan will be to fit the second side of my powder measure with the arm and spring because the holes are there - and everyone before me who owns a EVO has two arms and two springs so why should I not be allowed to have the same.....so much for owning the Swiss Watch Version.... As for the body style - he said they went to a molded cast body and moved away from the machined body to save costs..... Now you know what I know...... I still want
  15. Baragasam - Thank you again Sir for your help. I will email both now to see if this is a new design and if mine is missing parts...Seems that even the new design would have the support bracket and spring on both sides like the previous but with companies having sourcing issues now due to COVID and always looking to cut costs I might just be one of their first for this change...I will let you know what I learn whenever someone responds...Thanks again
  16. Thanks Bikn for responding. If you look at the photos it looks like someone took the screws out of the lower holes on the blank side. Makes me wonder if I received a donor unit that had pieces taken off of it....I am looking for Misty’s (Mark 7) email so I can send her an email with pictures but so far no luck in finding her email.... Thanks again for responding to my issue...Mark
  17. Guys - Reading that most who receive their Evo or Revo units now have missing parts. I think I just found that I am part of this crowd. I think I am missing one side of my powder measure system or is this a new design?
  18. Well I got my Hornady case feeder issues related to cases jamming up in the bowl fixed - After monkeying ( I was like a monkey playing with a golf tee) with the provided spring for at least 90 minutes trying to find that perfect spot - I figured it out with one phone call......I called Scheels and ordered me a Dillon case feeder...Now my case feeding issue will be solved when that package arrives in 4-5 days... Total cost will be minimal because once the Dillon arrives my New Hornady case feeder with plate will be placed in the classifieds for sale... I look at it this way - My Dillon 650 has provided me 10 years of PERFECT case feeding service so if I am going to spend $3k on a loader that I intend to keep and use for many many years, I do not want this to be one of the things I have to worry about every time I turn it on to load..... If you look at the Dillon case feeder design - They figured it out....The cut away the area on the case feeder bowl where case can get hung and replaced it with a piece of curved aluminum to narrow the gag between the case feeder wall and the revolving case plate - but the key to their unit working 100 percent of the time is they mounted this thin piece of aluminum on the OUTSIDE of the case feeder wall on the tall end thus eliminating the “pinch point” where the brass and whatever device you are using in this gap (spring or piece of tubing) does not exist.....Simple Smart Engineering IMO..... Now to focus on getting my dies set up.....
  19. Bikn - Thanks Sir for posting this photo - I am about to give this a try as I am about to give up on getting 9mm to feed properly....
  20. If anyone has figured out a set up related to this that works please post a few pictures if possible...I am setting up my new loader and this is driving me crazy....I am about ready to order a Dillon case feeder and be done with this issue since the case feeder on my 10 year old Dillon 650 has run perfect since day one on eight different calibers....
  21. Bikn - Thank you Sir. I will give your recommendations a try as I set up my EVO....Thanks Again...Mark
  22. Mayassa - I see you mounted a Dillon case feeder on your EVO - May I ask why? I read where the bullet feeder that comes with the EVO is not a comparable unit to the Dillon.... I ask because My EVO is due to be delivered in 5 days....I have tracking and it is in route so I wonder if I need to get a Dillon case-feeder and SP plate in route also....Thanks Mark
