Looks for Match (2/11)

  1. Let the hate begin. I like the Crue, Motley that is.
  2. Thanks for the info, Shaw1. I'll try the USPSA "lite" league next spring and see how it goes. Still afraid if I jump straight into the full-on USPSA stuff I'll just make a fool out of myself. I only have a FS S&W M&P40 1.0 bone stock to shoot right now. I've looked at a Canik TP9SFx and actually got to handle one at my FFL's place today. I told myself I wouldn't pick one up 'till 9mm ammo becomes more available i.e. the prices comes down. If I do end up picking up the Canik and doing USPSA, I'd probably look into reloading. BTW, is reloading while living in an apartment feasible?
  3. I believe you're correct, TtT. I have to admit I'm more than a little bit intimidated about trying USPSA for my first go-around in competitions. I just today picked up a S&W Victory that I'll using in SC possibly next month, but for sure next year. I plan on putting in a couple of low-cost TK parts in the Victory to increase its reliability soon.
  4. Snip, the Talking Heads were tremendous! I have had Stop Making Sense, their concert/movie on DVD that's a must have. I still watch it 1-2 times/year. I believe many versions played here are better than the studio versions.
  5. Again, thanks for the input gentleman. It's very much appreciated by this red dot newb.
  6. The Gray Man series by Mark Greaney, 9 books on now and still going. The Revelation Space trilogy by Alastair Reynolds, and just about anything else by him.
  7. Unfortunately, I'm on a fixed income. So, the Trijicons are a bit out of my price range. The C-Mores are about as much as I can spend on an optic at present. Thanks for the info though everyone.
  8. I'm looking into a C-More Slide Ride for RFPO in SC. To those of you who have used one, do you prefer the polymer or aluminum body? Standard or click switch? Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Bill
  9. I'm a new guy to more serious pistol shooting and have read many, many threads on the steel challenge sub-forum cuz I'm thinking about trying it out. I have old eyes being severely near-sighted and far-sighted plus have moderate bilateral astigmatism. I'll be in the super senior division next year. It seems that the Slide Rise and Railway are pretty commonly recommended here. The question(s) I have are do you guys prefer the aluminum or polymer body model and standard or click switch? Your opinions are greatly appreciated. Bill

  12. I didn't even know Garbage was even a group! I was talking about crummy music lol.
  13. I have to agree: retirement is great!
  14. Colt, so very sorry to hear about this. You have my most sincere condolences. If I may share a similar story. About 6 years ago, my ex-wife (who I was still close to) passed away after elective hip replacement surgery. She went into renal failure and then had two GI bleeds post-op. The medical staff was unable to save her after the 2nd one. My (and her) son were devastated. The passage of time has helped heal those wounds somewhat. I'll bet she's looking down on you right now, ready with a big right boot.
  15. I'll take the 80's garbage over the 2000's garbage. But, I agree that the BEST music was from the 60's and 70's. Yes, I'm an old fart.
