  1. I load 124Gr Xtreme FMJ's using 3.5Gr of 231 with a OAL of 1.10" and I shoot this same round in three 9mm pistols (all SIG's) and two PCC - AR's......These are all shot in SC so I cannot provide you a PF number. This has been my go to round for 3 + years now after I found 2- 8lb sealed jugs of W231 on sale at a mom and pop gun store for $88.00 per 8lb. jug.....but remember - this was 3 years ago......
  2. And to think - I gave away 2,000 CCI - SPP's three weeks ago to 2 guys (1000 each) I shoot with at my monthly match who both had less than 300 SPP left in their inventories and one had less than 400 loaded rounds left in his inventory. We three shoot each month at our local match and we are all three of us shooting in the MS. State Championship in 2 weeks so I knew they both needed primers.....I told both guys that I wanted no payment but rather a commitment some time in the next 3 years replacement primers when they are able to find primers And sorry guys - I do not have any more to give away - With my son needing and getting 2,000 SPP's (with my permission) this past weekend and the 2,000 pieces mentioned above -this puts me running out in about 4 months based on my current average monthly round count I use/need for my pistols and PCC rounds but my hope is that I will get lucky at some point in the near future. They say Karma is a real thing.....I guess I will have to find out for myself.....Worse case would be that I pull out the rimfire pistol and rifle and burn up some of this 22LR ammo I have been buying for the last three years....
  3. Jim - This is a GREAT question that needs to be answered. If you will send me a gallon bucket of CCI SPP's (you can leave them in their factory 100 pack trays) I will let you know the answer to your question before Christmas.....
  4. Dang - That right there would be one HEAVY bucket..... that this old man would never be able to move.....
  5. So as we all know in the shooting and reloading world we are living in today it started about two - three months ago with bullets and then with primers (or the other way around). It seems to me in reading (and in the bullet orders I have placed and received) the availability of most common reloading bullets are "starting" to re-appear (I know there are exceptions). Related to reloading powders - Locally I have seen powder supplies diminish and when I go on-line to order from any of the three most popular supply houses I am seeing my "go to" powders (pistol and rifle) as being consistently out of stock. One other thing I have to mention - I (we) live on a single income and therefore I cannot financially afford to purchase more than 3 to 5 lbs. of powder at one time (thus the reason I usually purchase locally). Also - I am not out of powder today but want guidance related to forward looking scenario's. Therefore my question to the BE Forum brain trust - Do others here believe that reloading powders could or will become in short supply going into some of the unknowns we reloaders are going into? Not trying to create a false sense of fear but rather asking so I can better plan based on my $$ capabilities/limitations but more so my concern of "What could happen post election" related to reloading powders if the unthinkable occurs...Thoughts/Comments.???
  6. I am another one who uses Hornady One Shot on my pistol brass loading and have for many years....And I load on a 650 - and my last name is Dillon (I kid you not)......
  7. I love my Vibra-Prime also...Poor mans way of loading primers that has worked great...Quickly learned about the small wrist flip action that keeps the primers moving....I might just have to purchase a back up unit just in case mine fails (at least 20,000 primers thru my current unit) or I break something. Seems to never fail that I find something like this that is easy to use and affordable and then all of a sudden they decide to “make it better” and the original model is no longer available..... Guess my Hurricane Delta stay inside weekend purchase will be a back up Vibra-Prime.....
  8. mayassa - Thanks Sir for responding...Several sleepless nights since seeing the RL1100 leave my possession but I know when I get my Evolution in hand my fears will subside...It is just the wait that is driving me crazy.....Stay Safe and thanks again for the picture of your set up...I am envious of your set up but I will post pictures when my 650 gets his EVO big brother set up beside him.......Mark
  9. ddc - Quick follow up - I followed your recommendation above and never opened the RL1100 factory box. Sold the complete system to a gentleman for what I paid for it (the right thing to do for a fellow reloader) and used that money to purchase an Evolution....I ordered the Evo the last week of August direct from Mark7 with an estimated ship date of September 30th. When I inquired on Sept. 30th as to my shipping details I learned that my system “might” ship later this year due to Mark7 experiencing delays in receiving certain parts from specific suppliers....I get it - I just am like a kid on Christmas morning waiting for their brother or sister to wake up so we can go see what Santa left..... I still believe I made the right decision (for me) when I decided to sell the RL1100 and ordered the Evo.....Thanks again to you and the others here who provided the information you did....Who knows - Santa might (or might not) come early this year...Just will have to wait and see...Mark
  10. This was a great thread to bring back to the top after 15 years...Love reading the history of Dillon and how the company and machines were created...Mark
  11. Quick update - Yesterday we had 26 guns at out local match. Surprised by the mix......Glad to see centerfire picked up.... 13 CF and 13 RF All CF shooters were shooting 9mm except two - one was shooting 40 and one was shooting 45.....and five or six wanted their brass - which we happily accommodated....
  12. Mid April is going to be WONDERFUL related to weather...This is GREAT news.....Thanks Zack for again putting on a World Class Shot this year at Talladega....It was a pleasure visiting with you again.....Hoping you are able to break that 700 gun mark in 2021.... For anyone who has ever wanted to go to a World Class match - this is the match to go to......I drive three hours one way just to watch and it was another great match this year...The coolest part was meeting Mike Foley this year....A SUPER friendly gentleman that was very approachable and asked me what I thought he could do to continue to make USPSA better....The ENTIRE USPSA staff was on site visiting with everyone and all of the staff were very very friendly and approachable also.... I love this match because the World Champion shooters at this match are ALL so friendly and will stop for photos and always have smiles on their faces.....When you can walk up and meet the likes of KC, Jessie, Shawn, Max, Doug, Chris, Zack, Mike, Troy, Jake, and so many more and even TV personality John Scoutten - well it just not get any better than this......At least now in my book....Thanks to all of the shooters and USPSA staff for making this a very friendly spectator event.....And the CMP staff is also second to none....I am excited to know that CPM will be hosting this match again for many years to come....
  13. Here is a small example of what we are seeing locally. We run a 5 stage course - once a month match - referred to as Outlaw Steel because we do not have the bay size to support SO and OL and we are not sanctioned. The numbers below show that we have started seeing some of our CF only shooters not coming and/or a few shooting RF as their second gun rather than shooting CF in two divisions. May 2020 - 29 guns - 18 CF and 11 RF June 2020 - 27 guns - 15 CF and 12 RF July 2020 - 27 guns - 11 CF and 16 RF August 2020 - 25 guns - 8 CF and 17 RF Sept 2020 - This weekend so I do not have this month's numbers yet What I also find interesting is in the past I would bring home about half of the CF brass that was spent during our match because I would put down a net tarp on two bays and another guy would do the same and then pick up the brass on the other bay. He would then toss me a couple of handfuls of what he picked up on the 5th bay while I was loading up the targets, stands, uprights, tents, and tables. Over the past three months - Almost everyone who shoots CF wants their brass or a portion of what CF brass is gathered (this is fine with me because I have been gathering and saving brass from this monthly match for almost 2 years so I am good on brass) but because I receive no money for this monthly match (yes you read that correctly - my targets, my stands, my uprights, my tables, my paint, and my tents for shooting under) so I feel like the spent brass is a fair swap for my investment to make this monthly match happen while the range owner gets the entry fee to pay for the range maintenance, Port-a-Jon, and insurance. I am 100% good with this deal as without this range owner allowing us to gather and shoot the next closest range is right at 2 hrs away....And I do what I do and provide what I provide because I love the fellowship, stories and lies, and the smell of burning gunpowder.....
  14. RGA - Thanks Sir - I am up a little earlier than usual this morning so this will be my reading....Thanks Again for taking time to share and post...Mark
  15. Following this thread and these very important discussion points as I have bullets (150gr FMJ-BT) in route to load up 200 rds for my M1A...Going to load 5 rounds at a couple of different charges to check for cycling, pressure signs, and also to check 100 yard accuracy.... no intent on going close to the top end of any load range and intend on using H4895 as my go to powder....
  16. Well guys I am going to be the “other guy” in this discussion.... In my opinion in the current market if this unit includes everything a person needs to load 9mm or .223/5.56 And seeing the condition this unit is in I am betting the OP can get 90% if not 95% and here are my reasons for saying this... 1 - There are folks that LOVE the 650 (me being one) that has loaded on a 650 for years and would love to have a second machine so that everything that works for one machine works for their second machine (I know some will say 650 and 750 parts will also swap out but the priming system is different)..... 2 - Dillon is not selling the 650 anymore....If they were I would buy one and never open the box - just have it as a spare in case I wanted to set one up for small primers and the second one for large primers... 3 - It is a Dillon, which comes with a lifetime warranty.... 4 - Some folks do not like the 750 priming system..... Again I just wanted to share a slightly different view point...Keep in mind OP - you can always come down on your price but would not be able to go up....Just my 2 cents worth....Mark
  17. 231 is what I have used for the past 10+ years but have titegroup as a common backup.....
  18. Sorry Bobkoh - Read your post wrong the first time. The bullets I am talking about that Killough has available now are round nose....Here is a picture from the last 5000 I received..... Thanks InTheShaw for pointing out my mis-read....
  19. Sarge - Thanks Sir for telling me this. It was not my intent to break any rule here. Mods - If I have error-ed here PLEASE delete this post - I was doing this to help other forum members find bullets which as we all know are really hard to find right now. It was not my intent to break any forum policy/rule. I do not want to jeopardize my membership here in any way. Sarge - Thanks again for posting your comment - I will stand by for guidance from management. Mark
  20. First off guys - I have no affiliation with this company other than having purchased over 20,000 bullets from them to date with ZERO issues....A few things I can tell you and then I let you decide if they are right for you. You can order as few as 100 bullets or as many as 50,000 bullets...... The ship F-A-S-T - Usually within 48 hrs of order receipt.... They only stock and ship one bullet - Why - Because it is the bullet of choice for professional shooters that want a 9mm "Major Power Factor" bullet At the time of me posting this information their website reflected that they have 822,000 bullets in stock (I know this is a fluid number that is ever changing). If you order 5000 bullets - shipping is F-R-E-E..... They accept all types of payment methods - even if you have to mail in a check or MO - your bullets are reserved. Again - I have NO affiliation with this company and I get NOTHING for sharing this information. My goal here is to provide the forum friends here an avenue for a real 124gr .355 FMJ bullet.... And yes - I did just order and receive my latest order of 5000 bullets that I ordered on Monday and received yesterday(Wednesday) so I am good on bullets for a while.. Finally - I respectfully ask that you NOT post anything in this thread that slams this family run TX based company related to their product or pricing. If you have an issue take it up with them but I welcome any feedback if you ordered and received your product and are happy with it...... OH - I also forgot to mention - They are the ELEY 22 Rimfire ammo distributor in the US (not sure if they are the only but they are HUGE in this role and responsibility)..... Here is the link to the bullet I have described....Hopefully this will help other forum members who are in a pinch looking for a 9mm reloading bullet that is reasonably prices and in stock.....Mark https://www.killoughshootingsports.com/reloading-components/1082-1432-124gr-round-nose-copper-jacket-bullets-for-reloading.html#/821-quantity-1000
  21. I have a 45LC on mine to add weight to the primer push down rod and once I did this my issue went away immediately....Learned this trick right here on the BE forum....Good Luck...Mark
  22. Thanks TRP formyour response - I will hold on to my extra unit and give it a try...Thanks Again...Mark
  23. I received in 52 days ago and it is still sitting in the sealed box that it came in from Dillon....I had some travel and family issues come up that prevented me from unboxing it - and now these delays should work in my favor (I hope)....I am going to list it for sale In the classifieds here tomorrow for what I paid for it along with some additional accessories I bought to go with it. Hoping I can find someone local to purchase it so I do not have to ship this 70lb beast......
  24. Thanks HogRider - Because I have a couple of extra Dillon powder checker units that I ordered to use with the RL1100 (that I am going to list for sale here in the classifieds in the coming days) I might keep these extra powder check units for now to see if they will work because the “plunger” on the Dillon powder check does NOT cause me any problems on my Dillon 650 (that I am going to keep) when loading W231 powder. W231 is my “go to” powder for 9mm because I have about 14lbs of it left in my limited pistol powder inventory (got a great deal on two 8lb. jugs and two 1lb. containers earlier this year). Thanks for the feedback and I am excited about my decision to sell the RL1100 (still sealed in the original Dillon factory box I received it in) and moving to the Mark 7 which should arrive in about three weeks.....Mark
  25. I have run at least 8000 rounds thru mine with zero issues...I love mine also...
