  1. Stoeger's doubles drill at 7, 15, and 25 yards has helped my splits a lot. It has helped me figure out problems with my grips and really shows how much you can get away with at various distances.

    X5 competition load

147gr Blue Bullets, 3.1 gr TG, and 1.15 OAL. This is making 132 PF at 900fps. It’s been super soft and runs well. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  3. I would be willing to bet that’s what happened. If it’s muddy I always unload the rounds into a practice pile if that mag hit the ground. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. +1 call up Patriot defense and they can set you up with everything you need to get it ready for competition. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  5. I also use the Pearce and I don’t know if any plastic plugs that would really be any different. If you want to add weight you might try the Seattle slug or the thug plug. However, I don’t think either is legal in production. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  6. With it being a muddy day, it’s possible that mud or a small rock got stuck on the rounds. It’s a good idea to run a cloth through the mag after brushing it on muddy days. Was it difficult to rack the round out? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  7. There might be on his Instagram, there are several already posted there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  8. When I have time I like to take breaks during practice to avoid getting too warmed up. I might bring some lunch with me or spend some time dragging out steel. I think it helps me simulate a match a little better and helps with that first go. When I go straight through and shoot 500 rounds in 2 hours I’m warmed up and shooting at a higher level. Most of the time I can’t waste 30 minutes between drills and just go non stop, but taking breaks helps with a cold start or going first to last in order on stages. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  9. I like using larger targets for shooting on the move. For entry and exit I usually use a half size but the full would work as well. I tried using the tiny targets I found that I wasn’t getting good reps because of target difficulty. I think you get more benefit out of larger targets when shooting on the move because it’s a little more realistic sight picture. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  10. I have shot blue bullets exclusively through my 34 and the stock barrel stills looks brand new other than the exterior finish wear. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  11. If you’re using it for CO, I would think about the Gen 5 17 MOS over the 34 since eight radius won’t matter. I would also definitely get the newer ones without the opening front strip. It seems to me like you could hang the mag on the cutout pretty easily. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  12. I would suggest joining PTSG for at least a month and working through the movement drills on there. I like to work movement during every dry fire practice and probably every 4 or 5 live fire practices I focus on movement. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  13. Would the plastic grip make the gun illegal in SS? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  14. Get the Boss/ bladetech hanger holster combo from Stoeger. For mag pouches I started bladetech and switched to DAA racers after some hang up issues with the bladetech. The difference is night and day, I love the DAA pouches. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  15. I think the X5 is definitely worth the upgrade. Everything about the gun is better, added weight, better sights, and easier to switch to a dot. If you’re shooting production I could see an argument for the 320, but if you want to dabble in CO it’s the X5 all day. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. If you already have an Apex trigger, the only benefit is the new grip texture. You would probably be better off just getting a stipple job. That is unless you just want a new gun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  17. If you can find federal syntech 150gr in bulk then I’d buy up a bunch of it. A heavier guide rod or attaching a weight to the rail for 3gun will help. Honestly the only thing that might help other than weight or reloading ammo is working on your grip. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. Go with a 5” 2.0. You’re going to want the longer sight radius and the 2.0 has a great grip texture. It’s the only polymer gun I’ve ever felt that I don’t need to add anything to the grips. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. I’d vote for either Dawson or TTI. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  20. Most people are buying the 9 edge because there are a lot of three gunners. If you’re going to be shooting USPSA Limited then you want the 40. Since you’re still new to the sport, I don’t think there would be anything wrong with shooting your 17 for a season. I’m also a believer of new shooters shooting low cap divisions and you have the right gun for production. It really helps you get better at breaking down stages and will make you a better shooter in the long run. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  21. Juts curious, what would make a cone barrel last longer? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  22. There shouldn’t be any difference in accuracy on a Stock 2 or 3. The cone barrel is more about getting weight out front. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  23. I tried some aftermarket triggers early on but I found out that I shoot light triggers slower. After I put some work into my grip I can shoot the stock trigger on my 34 just as accurate as the lighter aftermarket triggers. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  24. I get that, I just don’t like subjective rules. One RO might think it’s unsafe handling and another might say they were ready to shoot. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  25. I haven’t handled a PM9 but I have handled a lot of STI single stacks and a couple of Dan Wesson’s. If it were my money, I would go PM9 every time. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
