  1. I'm going to stick with my 1911's for single stack and my 2011 for limited and not change beyond that for the foreseeable future. I bought a PSA AR9 for PCC but think I need to focus on pistol shooting first.
  2. Hundo! I have them for 9, 40, & 45. Cheap and easy insurance.
  3. I like the way A1 handled it. Those guys were "professional" drone pilots and knew what they were doing. I don't think I'd want just anyone flying one of those things around while I was trying to RO or shoot.
  4. Have two of the DAA belts and like them.
  5. Practice 2x a week usually and 1 club match a week. 1 time by myself to work on actual things. 1 time with a group of folks where I tend to run the timer and set things up a lot and not get anything useful done for myself. I typically shoot one club match a weekend as well.
  6. My friend has a RPR in .308 that he can not get to group. He's an above average rifle shooter and has no trouble with his other guns so I don't think it's him. I'd look at the Savage version if it was me.
  7. Hi, I'm from just up the road near Harrisburg. We have a USPSA club at West Shore Sportsmen's Association in Lewisberry. https://www.facebook.com/WestShorePracticalShooters/
  8. I used velcro and stick it to my right ear muff. Works good for me and it's light and small enough that the velcro is perfectly suitable as a mount.
  9. Harold Melvin & The Blue Notes - If you don't know me by now. This is streaming on Soul Town on Sirius XM radio.
  10. I've been at some matches that could use a re-think of their safe areas. Just because you put up a table and a sign doesn't make it 100% safe.
  11. Thinking about trying to make GM in PCC so I can finally make M in Single Stack.
  12. I shot with one eye closed since I started shooting pistol competitively 5 years ago. It has taken me two years to get comfortable shooting with both eyes open and I am still working on it. I started to keep both eyes open in dry fire which I really liked. I feel like my face is more relaxed which I think means the rest of me is more relaxed. The first couple attempts in live fire were a mess. I had a hard time tracking the front sight and generally feel like I did everything more slowly (and I was slow to begin with). With many thousands of rounds in practice and more dry fire I have gotten back to where I was while shooting with one eye closed. I feel like things will continue to improve as I practice more and more. I do still close one eye for long shots. I was practicing 50 yard standards yesterday to get ready for Single Stack Nationals and found my accuracy was better with one eye closed at that distance.
  13. I wish I had seen this yesterday. They are back up to $27.99 and backorderable.
  14. Works great - stop thinking about it and do it. You'll wonder why you waited this long after trying it.
  15. 5.5 CFE PISTOL @ 1.180 OAL. with a 180 gr. bullet.
  16. Did you see that they also sell a 40 cal XL Hundo? Might be easier to get one of those than to ream all those holes?
  17. I've watched videos from the Long Island clubs and (I know it's really not funny) I crack up every time I see the guy reloading his open gun with ten rounds in his big stick.
  18. I traveled with a firearm for the first time recently (Philadelphia - Las Vegas) on Southwest Airlines. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was.
  19. I shoot single stack (usually minor, but sometimes major) and have developed a sixth sense about when I am on my 10th or 8th round of an array. I've done reloads before I got to slide lock on courses of fire without even thinking about it - my mind just seems to know that I have fired too many shots and I had better reload before I go to slide lock. Looking forward to trying Limited soon - won't have to think about that (even though I don't think I do) for a while.
  20. Our club purchased the GT star and we have been very happy with it.
  21. One thing I have found using SketchUp is that when you move a prop you should move it on one axis at a time. You can lock the axis you are moving on by holding down one of the arrow keys and then move it. That eliminates the issue of props either floating above the range surface or sinking below.
  22. I have two 9mm Trojans and have given up on them reliably loading from slide lock in a match. If I ever go to slide lock in a match I just automatically look down at the slide after I release it if it's not in battery I give it a sharp tap on the rear to drive it into battery. If I've gone to slide lock in a USPSA match I've probably already screwed something up anyway so I just deal with it like that. One thing that I have found helps a little is to make sure my strong hand thumb isn't dragging on the slide after I hit the release with my weak hand. I suspect that little bit of drag might be causing a problem.
