  1. Hopefully with at least some sanity and realistic discussions returning, and the lack of biased input, LO is now further and further from being ramrodded through. Both T-Rod and I are shooting Limited until at least July. You and T-Rod should have comparable times outside of stage 6 where you shot like a potato instead of an 8 shot revolver at falling steel (read, I've seen you crush stages like that). Looking at the results and remembering some of your runs, could you stay after the March match to practice? Once the time changes in March we will be doing more weekday practices for Limited if you were up to join us there.
  2. I think both myself and Mr. @kurtm would agree that the time spent discussing, tinkering and otherwise not focusing on dedicated practice provides orders of magnitude less return and improvement in skills than actually doing the work to build those skills. From my perspective, you're welcome to do whatever. I know what made me a better competitor.
  3. @DukeNiemand I'm sure you've got something on youtube or wherever as your "controlled study." It's neither statistically significant, nor sufficient to encompass the wide array of variables in play. At matches the consensus most effective has been and continues to be the Recoil Eliminator.
  4. JP Recoil Eliminator is still the most effective. 2/3 of Open seems to be that brake. For 1"x3" rule divisions I like the 3 JP 3 port. Very effective without the borderline brain damaging concussion on some brakes nowadays.
  5. @Makicjf had some great advice for me when he let me borrow his. Easiest pistol caliber I've ever loaded to be honest, once I knew the trick for bullet diameter selection
  6. Glad you're jumping on the JP-5. You'll love it. If you plan on using spicy ammo check out a 60 degree lock piece. One of the Border Patrol guys was running their ammo with it and it was comically soft for that load. I've transitioned to UH-1's for PCC. I've lost the single dots in the sun too many times to count at this point. With the circle dot I at least have the outer circle to aim if not the center point looking into the sun. The huge window on holographic sights and lack of parallax has also drastically reduced the number of times I had to roll over to a 45 degree offset dot. The only issue I'd watch out for is if you're not using a holo for work and you go back to a LPVO there's always that odd "wait, there's a tube" moment. Minor thing with training but you'll notice it every now and then.
  7. Just a clarification, that's 700 entries, not unique shooters. For example, I was 4 entries.
  8. Nothing for milling but I've had several of their RSH plates. All kept the optic in place without issues. At one point I pulled an optic to swap to a PC and figured after like, 20k or so I should probably get new screws. I accidentally ordered the wrong ones. They sent me a couple sets of the right replacements.
  9. Explain how changing the cost to entry going from $800-1000 for pistol + optic to $4k+ for a pistol will make a division more popular? CO is popular because you can get a Glock, a dot and a tube of locktite and play. The reason LO will never do what you think it will do is the same reason Open is dying, perceived cost to play.
  10. That's not even close to the reality. Almost anything can be used in Open. People stick around or not based on the community. Why isn't USPSA focused on building the community Nationally instead of pandering to companies trying to influence the rules?
  11. I'm not asking to delete ALL divisions, just Lim 10 for now. Getting back to the real question, how does this grow the sport? Specifically I'm asking how this either reduces turnover or increases new memberships rates to overcome expiration without renewing. Cannibalizing a division for participating in LO is not growing the sport. Kind of like guys going from Open to PCC to win a fantasy division at their local club isn't growth.
  12. That's the other thing, new shooters aren't competitive no matter the division.
  13. This is my fundamental problem with the proposal. There's an extremely small amount of people that aren't going to move the needle to grow the sport that CAN play in Open already.
  14. In 3x Shadow 2's I have not had an issue with either a slide stop or a trigger return spring. I have worn out a factory recoil spring or 2 though.
  15. Hahaha! Perfect! People can complain online in forums and on social all they want about their idea for improvements. The status quo will never change because of inaction!
  16. I mean, you can't stop at just 1. 3 is a good start
  17. When I was shooting 40 I had to run all my brass through a push through die to get a decent pass rate. Thankfully I only had to do that for about 2000 total rounds before going back to 9. If you're doing high volume shooting of 40 S&W, 10k a year or so, I would strongly suggest a roll sizer. You'll get all that bulged brass back in shape and the resize on press takes way less effort. I've run the roll sizer for 9mm for a season now and I'll never go back.
  18. Are you case gauging your ammo and keeping the chamber clean? 3500 rounds is a very low round count to have that happen.
  19. Either 80 or 70. It will be close. I preferred the 80 but some friends liked the 70. All that was in a 14.5" so it may be slightly different for you. If they are close I'd go 80.
  20. 3M 8880 High Power Brake Cleaner is about as good as you can get for removing old lube, junk and carbon from guns. If I'm doing a 5000 round clean, that stuff is awesome. I also shoot metal pistols so I'm not overly concerned about solvents on polymer. Obviously the AR's don't mind the brake cleaner. The Hoppes Gun Medic is awesome for removing a decent amount of crud and re-lubing in about a second. I keep it in my range bucket for practice and for our local club matches. Having it at A4 SCSA we got a few guns back up and running and I've seen it do the same for folks at Nationals. As for lube that keeps things easy to clean, the Hoppes CLP is pretty solid. Mobil 1 5w20 also works really well and I never seem to run out.
  21. Yes, but I settled on 80 degree. I would not run a 70 degree with 115 PF loads.
  22. Yeah, I have a couple emails to that address over the past few months. No replies, no movement. Looking for another contact other than Doug.
  23. Anyone have a way to contact the MD? I've tried getting a hold of Doug for 2 months with the email under the match Practiscore.
