Looks for Range

Looks for Range (1/11)

  1. Well, I decided to build my own Sig P320 with AXG grip module for Open Division. At the moment, I use it strictly for Steel Challenge. Looking for a good budget competition speed holster. Similar to Cr Speed Race Holster.

Yes, All steel AXG full size frame would be awesome. I am building an SCSA open gun and would be prefect.
  3. Hi Bdh821, The matches have been created in Practiscore. I'll will ask when they expect the registration for first match on Jan 11th will be open to the public. Keep in mind there many layers here. Team Master Blasters is providing the RO's, CRO's, etc. Sig is the primary on Match/Event scheduling and announcements. I will post an update if I get any word on a date though.
  4. Sig will follow the USPSA ammo requirements for their hosted matches 38, 9, 10, 40 & 45, but as far as I know, there is no direct restriction from Sig specifically at this point. This would not work if there some sort of restriction placed on ammo. We're setting up the match in SEC - Bay 1 in the Experience center. This is a public range/bay where you allowed to bring your own ammo both pistol or rifle. So don't foresee anything different with shooting matches. If that changes, I'll post here with an update.
  5. Hi Jk_nh, There was no mention of the exact date they will begin populating matches in Practiscore. I would guess within 2 weeks since the first USPSA indoor match will be on Jan 11 in SEC Bay 1. They are super busy getting this off ground. From the feedback in our meeting, Sig pledges to be all in on this, with 140 events & matches planned for 2023. With additional plans for expansion if this becomes popular.
  6. Last night USPSA, our Team Master Blasters from North Berwick, ME as joined Sig Sauer Academy to assist in providing staffing for the upcoming 2023 match schedule. This will include IDPA, USPSA, Steel Wall and a whole host of competitive events. This will be publicly announced over the next couple weeks. Keep an eye out for their Academy website updates with all the details. Equally, you can check out Practiscore for listed matches. Sig will be doing indoor matches during the colder months then begin to host matches in the outdoor bays. Here's some inside pics I took during our meeting in the main conference room at the new Experience Center with Chad Barber.
  7. @X5SigChris Yeah, based on what you stated and relatively not much dry, live or match time. I would agree to hold off for now. My situation is a bit different, I'm shooting 48 to 55 matches per season that includes 2 Area 7 state matches, plus all the dry & live fire training I do. I was desperate for something else. I will say this, you will see once you get up to speed in every aspect of your competition shooting how this will evolve. It's a knowledge nugget to for later.
  8. @X5SigChris For me, an absolute YES! I was originally motivated to buy the GX holster simply for its innovative locking feature. All other holsters have in my opinion, make-shift solutions for keeping your gun secure when you're not shooting. The Red Hill Tactical holsters have those 2 thumb-screws, which are a pain in the ass and just got tired of having to remember to tighten/loosen. I had to replace those screws several times and have to keep a spare as well. In the end, I just threw some Blue 242 Loctite on them and just dealt with a loose-fitting gun. And yes, it popped out many times. In addition, I am a CRO and RO every match throughout the season in both USPSA & Steel Challege (I save like over $500 in match fees) up here in New Hampshire which also caused issues with no real way to lock my gun securely in my holster. I've tried all sorts of DIY methods to keep it in the holster and none ever solved the issue where I didn't have to worry about it. I found myself always fiddling with it in fear my gun would pop out unexpectedly. It wasn't until I mounted the GX holster and started to use it in competition that I realize just how well made it is. The Kydex is much thicker and all edges are nicely rounded and smoothed, which resolved the slide scratches. Personally, I would place the order and just wait it out. I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised. Here's a pic of my slide showing just how much damage the RHT holster inflicted on my slide. The one on the bottom is the newly painted and stippled mod. Even after 3 indoor winter USPSA matches, not a single scratch or abrasions. Very, very happy with my purchase and my willingness to hnag in there until it arrives.
  9. Yeah, I ordered my GX holster in Sept of 2021. Thereafter I got my tracking info in Jan of 2022 and arrived a few days after that. I can tell you, it was well worth the wait. I absolutely love this holster. Not just for the cool locking feature, but the quality and fit are the best I have come across. This is someone who has been through many competitive holsters over the years, including BladeTech & Red Hill Tactical. Gun draws smoothly with no rough edges to scratch up your slide. In fact, I just repainted my slide from using the Red Hill Tactical holster, which caused a lot of deep abrasions from drawing. The thing is, I never could figure out what exactly was causing this. I must of Dremeled that holster more ways than Sunday in attempt to smooth out the material with no luck. Anyways, the GX solved that issue.
  10. His website states major delays and he's only one person filling your order. I went to his site and it states to send him a text. Witch I did, he replied back within 24 hours about the status of my holster. After comminating, he told me I was next in line and it showed up about 3 weeks later.
  11. I just purchased GX holster with the BOSS hanger hole pattern and it fits prefect.
  12. You can try checking out PMM, Parker Mountain Machine. I know and shoot with the owner, Jarod Legsdin and he does great work. His work number is (603) 664-9606 www.parkerMountainMachine.com here's a link to their site for compensators PMM X-COMP Builds - Parker Mountain Machine
  13. I can see both side of the coin here. If you haven't yet developed your fundamentals in competitive shooting, I agree this may not really offer the newer shooter any tangible gains. Mainly, at this first phase e.g. U to D to C, of competitive shooting should be focused on core fundamentals i.e. smooth fast draw, quick site-picture acquisition (calling your shot), movement (pausing not stopping), splits & transitions and stage walk-through/planning. As examples of these types of skills to work on. I recall, I didn't really begin to be concerned with faster trigger pull at that point moving from U to low C Class. It wasn't until I was a solid high-upper C Class ready to move into B and typically, to advance through B Class adding trigger speed in conjunction with shot cadence (given target distance) now becomes a core skill to master with the intent to achieve the needed speed gains. When I first began competing. I started with an out-of-the-box X5 Gen1. No mods what so ever. I trained & competed with it for about year and a half. It wasn't until fellow competitor (typical scenario with sharing info) mentioned GG comp trigger upgrade it in our conversation. And offered to let me dry fire his X5. I can say there was a significant difference and I knew this was the next logical step in my competitive progress. Since then, I have completely upgraded my X5 Legion and it serves me well. I just finished a mod & stippling on my Sig X5 Legion. I think it looks great, but there are a few imperfections given this was my first go at performing mods. Overall, I am happy with the results and learned a ton for my next mod build. It's painted with mate black duracoat and stainless-steel accents i.e. take down level, mag release and the GG Silve adjustable straight trigger. >Mods: - Barstol stainless steel match-grade barrel - Gray Guns Competition trigger upgrade w/Silver adjustable straight trigger - Gray Guns Offset Extended Magazine Release - GoGuns *thumb rest [generic]* - Sig Romeo3 XL Red Dot Optic/6MOA - DPM Recoil Reduction System (Brass colored spring) - Grip module has been smoothed down: deeper trigger guard undercut and both sides of the dove tail. - Extreme stipple grip - Willson Combat (rounded) Slide Release - Sig 15 rnd magazine sanded & polished to stainless steel finish coated with clear high-gloss duracoat with Taran Tactical Blue extended base plate Some of the items are purely cosmetic and others offer functionality
  14. Yes, they absolutely can. Given the hybrid of polymer & tungsten can be a bit challenging to stipple. I just finished a mod & stippling on my Sig X5 Legion. I think it looks great, but there are a few imperfections given this was my first go at performing mods. Overall, I am happy with the results and learned a ton for my next mod build.
