  1. See this thread: https://forums.brianenos.com/topic/296875-jp-5-reviewsinput/
  2. For USPSA I would go with the 14.5" pin/weld with the MLOK handguard, 5 stainless SCS, extended mag release, 3 port comp and your choice on the furniture. PM me and I'll send you a build sheet of exactly what I'd build for a straightforward race setup. You see a bunch of different prices because there's a ton of options on the GMR series. Dual charge with the side charging system + top charge, titanium compensators, ultralight aluminum shrouded barrels, all sorts of things that can really change how your rifle performs depending on the sport.
  3. The lock pieces are the only thing you should really consider to tune the JP-5 to your liking / ammo selection. I have not had to replace my rollers, ever.
  4. There's a bunch of hearsay on the internet. I can tell you having shot 124's loaded with N320 to 130ish power factor, I did not find the muzzle to be driven down "too far" with the 80 degree lock piece. I can't imagine how much powder you'd need to actually drive the muzzle down "too far" in a PCC. Having loaded an Open pistol with 10+ grains of 3N38 and 124 gr bullets, the only "too far" down dip I've seen is when new shooters jerk the gun down thinking it will recoil like a production gun. In those situations, telling them to relax and not jerk the crap out of it resolved the downward movement issue.
  5. I'm a 10.5" guy. With the 8" I felt like I ran out of options for placing accessories and my relatively long arms were cramped in. You could get around that with an under hand guard suppressor option but that's not really as viable for competition since USPSA and other matches don't allow cans.
  6. 4 to 4.2 grains of Sport Pistol should be close with a 124 coated.
  7. I used a roll sizer for 9, but with 38 SC neither myself or my shooting partner have seen the need. I'm running his reloading process and to be honest, since I'm just running my same 38 SC over and over, I haven't had a single loaded round fail a Hundo case gauge because it was out of spec. 4000 rounds in and I've had 1 upside down primer as a failure and that's it. For 9, especially loading mixed brass and range pickup, roll sizing is an absolute must.
  8. Why not just order from JP since they have so many different angle locking pieces to tune to your satisfaction?
  9. Same. It's like there are good value things that work that everyone uses for a reason.
  10. It should be comparable. Worst case I'd assume they could get creative with the comp or chop more barrel but I'm sure JP will get it sorted.
  11. That's an interesting question. I'm sure they will have an idea on how to accomplish that. There's a bunch of guys on your side of the world competing with JP gear already so likely there's a protocol in place.
  12. So, using Sport Pistol will significantly reduce your carbon and junk buildup in comps compared to using a powder like Titegroup. I got tired of cleaning junk out of comps as well.
  13. I like the competition 3 port. Mostly it ends up being a personal preference between the comps.
  14. Like @1911flyrmentioned, the JP-5 has a different magwell than the GMR series. Taylor and Techwell both have JP-5 specific magwells available now.
  15. If anyone has questions or needs a hookup let me know
  16. With your 115s I would try the 70 degree lock piece. Heck I'd try it with both your hand loads and the factory 124s. I like 124s in my JP5 quite well. I personally settled on the 80 degree lock piece but others have preferred the 70 with all sorts of loads including factory 115s.
  17. I really haven't ever thought about this but I'd bet mine are less than the starting 15 from when I put them in. They do still set off 450's though so I'll probably leave them alone since I've got a decent stock of 205's and 205m's I have changed my recoil spring though. Likely a cheap little hammer spring should be a maintenance item as well though.
  18. JP5's, there are 2 and they are delightful. Both ran 100% as loaners at Nationals. I trust my GLOCK mags ang gear enough to let anyone run them. I haven't modified anything on my Glock mags either. Sold off the MBX basepads though, they were less reliable and of lower quality machining and design.
  19. So if they are finicky, less reliable and more expensive?
  20. GLOCK brand GLOCK mags are by far the most reliable. I like the TF 41s for most stages, the 51s for outlaw or >32 round stages and TTI old style standard extensions for reload and stand and shoot stages. ETS and MBX puke themselves to death in my experience. Both have design flaws and aren't as well made IMO.
  21. I thought this was the most fun PCC match since 9 days. One of the team guys was on our squad shooting production so stage planning with him I got a decent feel for the Production side. I'd have loved to have shoot it with both guns to be honest, just based off the stage plans. As far as the PCC match, I thought the match was well executed. The Fixed Time and Weak Hand stages both had an actual challenge AND reason to shoot them multiple ways. That's the first time I have said that about Weak Hand so, A+ and we will be putting that stage on at our local club. I truly enjoyed the short and medium courses. Those courses added something to the match, again with more than stand and deliver because of the different ways you could shoot them. I thought most of the activator sequences were also well done. Danny's stage up top (16) was fantastic with not only multiple presentations of the same target, but multiple GOOD stage plans that could have been optimal. Were there 1-2 stages I'd rather have been better? Sure. But these stages were FAR better than CO Nats earlier this year. I'd easily put 2022 PCC/Prod Nats stages in the bin of "As fun as 2 Gun Nationals" and that's always my favorite match.
