I think there's a perception of a market for those guns, thanks marketing and well placed influencers in the wild. In practice, at most gun stores, sales are what, 1000's to 10,000's poly fantastics to 1 SAO from X maker? What market then would you rather go after to grow the sport?

Making a division to compete with Carry Optics. CO is the most popular division for so many reasons. Trying to directly siphon from the massive growth there to slap together Open Minor Division is where the waste comes from. Every second spent on pushing LO is a second not spent on growing the sport through CO.

Thank you for the laugh. I agree though. A provisional division should, in theory, be proposed, debated, picked apart, tested and torn completely apart prior to being implemented. If an idea cannot go through the harshest criticisms on its own merit it should be reevaluated. However, I agree, as implemented LO seems to have taken almost no effort by USPSA. My perception has been it was merely rubber stamped as presented by makers. What fruit would their efforts bear if asked, "Is there a better way than what is currently done to grow the sport?"

Still to this day I think Open, 38 SC not that abomination 9 major, is about as much fun as you can have with a pistol. Problem is CO and Limited (real Limited, with a 40) are 95+% of the fun without the extra hassle. The example provided was to reinforce the point that it doesn't matter what gun the majority of people buy to increase skill. Practice and increasing skills actually win matches, not changing guns every other month to the new shiny. It's going to be interesting to see the new membership numbers after 6 months of LO cannibalizing other divisions. LO is still a wasted effort trying to bring people into the sport. All the time, money and effort put into LO could have been put into CO with 100 times the number of new members and participants. The demographics at CO Nats and CO in the general population are exactly what the sport has been trying to recruit. CO is full of young 20-30 somethings with time and disposable income before "life happens."

Division swap. There's always been a place for "LO". Egos just can't get around what you brought up at the end. IF-PSC "If only I had a place to run this gun, then I'd smoke everyone." Right now LO is new and shiny. People (me included) will do it to get classified then never pick it up again. I'll run my CO rig just like I did for Open. Most will swap back to something more fun when Nils destroys everyone running a Canik again.

Run suppressed. You'll have a much better day and you won't end up asking your family, "What?" constantly when you get home. Any sport that allows suppressors should be shot suppressed.

Pretty standard. Most factory 115's are in the 140 PF range.

There's a bunch of good info already posted in this thread. I'd strongly recommend going back and looking at the information related to lock pieces and running at the edge of operation. Short answer, you should be using an 80 degree lock pieces with 124's at 130 PF.

Looking at a popular 2 gun format vs the new style of 3 gun it's clear why 2 gun is growing and 3 gun is fading. People would rather do burpees or run 5+ miles at the Tactical Games or Run and Guns than shoot 40+ round shotgun stages. When 3 Gun understands that and adapts, then 3 gun might grow again. The overemphasis on the platform the fewest number of gun owners have along with the relatively less reliable and massively less practical reason to own a 12+ round shotgun is why 3 gun is still fading. Mind you, I'm not saying ditch the shotgun. Just go back to using it in a realistic way.

I prefer the 3 port. I've tested both with a pretty extensive amount of bullet weights and lock pieces and in general, the 3 port works better for me.

The CZ brand magwell works pretty well. Reloads are fast and you can get colors to make your S2 a S2-Parrot if you're into that like me. I did need to mod it for some basepads but it took less than 5 minutes with a Dremel. I also had to modify my standard VZ grips. Short grips are obviously required but I had the VZ's and I like them more than any short grip currently available. Shockbottle Basepads + 17 round MecGar - Worked out of the box, looked dope TTI Basepads + 18 round CZ mags (140 mm) - Worked out of the box, mag body extends well below magwell TTI Basepads + 17 round CZ mags (140 mm) - Modifed magwell at the rear (pin side) to allow ~ 1 mm more clearance. Drops free and works with minor modification of magwell.

No, there's no reason to do so. 5 seconds of 3M High Power Brake Cleaner is about all the time that's necessary for "cleaning" with another 5 seconds to dip your BCG in oil + 1 flick to remove excess.

Absolutely not. The roller delay is a far, far cleaner operating system. You WILL be cleaning ANY compensator using Titegroup and coated bullets.

S2-OR is a much more versatile platform. You can run CO, Prod or even Lim minor in addition to LO for the next few months before it gets tanked. In Steel Challenge I ran a S2 in Lim, Prod, CO and Open.

Hunters HD sent out certs to every USPSA and SCSA club that renewed this year. I think the Hunters are objectively a clearer lens and mine have held up for 5 years now. You might shoot them an email about new lenses. They have a massive facility and can do prescription and clears in addition to the standard Gold and Ruby.

It's a 9mm. There's no reason to use a magnifier.

Honestly? I don't even bother. I'm sure you can buy parts to make you happy and all but if you're asking me after 3 or so years what I carry in parts, it's batteries for optics.

Your job as a club president / match director is not to run matches. Your job is to train the next in charge. Show them everything you know, encourage their energy and creativity and above all, when you're done, know who is in charge next and have an idea of who they might pick.

To get this question on Instagram. On a 3 gun rifle it makes more sense running a LPVO and dot offset. For a PCC with a holographic sight like a UH-1, I almost never use the offset dot.
