  1. Depends on which stock you run, whether it has an adjustable cheek piece, your face shape, neck flexibility / brokenosity, and body shape. It's more important to set something up to be comfortable for you rather than go with the crowd. We have a father / daughter duo locally that do not like running the same height dot on their PCC. I run UH-1's so, whatever those end up being in height.
  2. Can't say I've ever seen that. I'm not loading for 3 but I have loaded a fair few rounds on a 650. Just double checking the obvious questions, are you sure you have the right station 1 locator in? Maybe photos of the plates and affected areas of the plates would help? I'd call Dillon to ask what could cause what you're seeing. They have been incredible helping me troubleshoot other issues.
  3. Super easy. There's a couple good YouTube videos on the process if you like following visual rather than written instruction.
  4. Thankfully when I was at an asphalt plant in Dallas in the summer I at least had A/C.
  5. Did you leave these in a solar oven in death valley by chance? I leave mine in my truck so I don't forget them. It was 100-110 for 2 months straight here and I've had mine since ...2020? Maybe something changed in the manufacture, maybe something was left out of the details. Just providing my own experience.
  6. Brazosland Pistoleros 1st and 4th Saturdays are Steel Challenge. 2nd Sunday is USPSA.
  7. You might get your load to work. That's cool! My recommendations have been based on 100% reliability over large sample sets, not individual use cases.
  8. Taran Tactical toolless base pads for easy removal and cleaning. When you reload the mag that falls in the sand gets cleaned before it gets used again. TF's require a tool, TTI's just have a pin which can be pressed to remove the basepad for easy cleaning.
  9. I can't wait for CO+ to surpass Limited. Formerly Iron Sight Nationals stages look like a bunch of fun, especially with a dot and lots of bullets! Limited Major is dying because 40 sucks to shoot compared to 9 Minor. 40 is more expensive, more recoil, harder to buy power factor ammo and on top of that you're stuck with irons. To be honest, Production going to 15 will do more to kill off Limited as a division than CO+ will.
  10. CZC extensions and Grams springs / followers. I've put together 20+ mags of that combination that run both 40 and 9 in the same mag. They are easy to take apart for cleaning and they've been stupid reliable. There are specific 9 and 40 followers so obviously get the ones for your use case.
  11. Short Lock Piece Guide for Reference: Everything below is suggested for 100% reliability first, THEN feel. You might get your load to work. That's cool! 80 Degree - Almost all ammo except some ridiculous steel challenge Sub-minor 90 gr that you can likely throw faster. This is why the rifles ship with an 80 degree lock piece. 70 Degree - 124/5 grain and lower (e.g. 115 gr) loads at or above USPSA Power Factor ~130. Note, 147 and 150 grain loads at power factor may or may not cycle. I personally wouldn't recommend this due to 1 in 1000 (est.) rounds potentially not cycling. Your mileage may vary, proceed with caution. 60 Degree - Intended for duty ammo. If you get it to run your pet load, great! Enjoy the softest recoil. For most other applications not recommended. __________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ Now for the edge use case that 2-3 people will actually use, the 100 and 120 degree lock pieces. Some Steel Challenge shooters may want to load 80 / 90 / 100 grain bullets intended for 380's with reduced powder charges for that ultimate soft feel. They are hilariously soft by the way(). But you can get into scenarios where even the 80 degree lock piece wont 100% reliably cycle your comically light loads. Enter the 100 and 120 degree lock pieces. Now you can run an 80 gr projectile well under the speed of sound to tickle the far plates on Outer Limits juuuuust enough that a second later everyone hears the "ding". It's a bit unnerving at first to have to wait to hear the report, but that's just because not everyone wants to waste powder getting the bullet to the plate. You may have to adjust your holds for targets past 20 yards!
  12. Looks like a low turnout overall as well.
  13. Live fire practice with 1 Open gun running 38SC was not all that enjoyable. After 2-3 mags I'd have to put it in a cooler filled with ice just to cool it off. Texas summer didn't help, but rotating would have been far more enjoyable. Going to Nationals with 1 Open gun for 2 shooters made me a bit nervous but it ended up being fine. For every other match I'll travel with identical backups. Either way, if you're spending ~$2k to attend a match, a backup gun should definitely be ready to go.
  14. The extraction issues are very strange. Running CZ's and GLOCK brand GLOCK pistols and either coated or jacketed I never had significant buildup with SP. Titegroup would be filthy but it wouldn't accumulate so bad that anything malfunctioned.
  15. Apologies, I should have asked the HiTek question separately to @IHAVEGAS. However, back to the Titegroup / Sport Pistol buildup in comps with JHP's, I agree. Titegroup is a particularly foul carbon buildup compared to other powders.
  16. This has been my experience. This difference is magnified in compensated PCC's. If you're running really poorly applied HiTek coated, nothing will be clean. If you get the better HiTek applied, you'll notice the difference in Sport Pistol.
  17. Possibly the best powder made for 9 mm. Clean, meters well, burns cool, consistent, good case fill, works for both coated and jacketed.
  18. 3. Once triggers are set internally, they are set. You can remove them but I've never seen a point in swapping springs for competition. Just go with the lightest pull weight and be done. The modular allows swapping of shoes externally. Again, I don't see a point in swapping but some folks like changing things. 5. 2x Glock brand Glock big sticks with Taran Tactical toolless base pads for easy removal and cleaning. When you reload the mag that falls in the sand gets cleaned before it gets used again. TF's require a tool, TTI's just have a pin which can be pressed to remove the basepad for easy cleaning.
  19. You'd have to run a LOT of rounds to cause an issue. I wouldn't bother more than a nylon brush and a little bit of CLP every couple thousand. Don't worry, you'd have to run filthy ammo a LONG time to cause any issues.
  20. 1. 80 Degree for your application for 100% reliability. You can add a 70 degree to your cart if you want to try it but it may be iffy depending on your bullet and powder. 2. Don't bother with this. Not worth the rabbit hole. 3. Totally your pick. The modular has a pin on the shoe that allows you to swap. I always do component with a curved or roller because IMO they turn out the best and I never see the need to swap once it's set. 4. I don't use the dual charge for PCC. Some guys love it but it only comes into play on a PCC for unloaded starts. 5. JP sells them and you can add TF extensions. Or you can do places like Gunmagwarehouse etc. Glock big sticks with TF basepads are the standard. Snag a Magpul drum for the lulz and outlaw stages. Add 1-2 TTI easy off basepads for reload mags and you're good to go. 6. Preference. I run the 3 port and in my opinion it's the most effective. 3 port also doesn't obscure targets in early morning high humidity scenarios which will matter if you're running coated. 7. TF magwell. Add it to your cart if JP has them in stock. They are the best available. 8. If I were you and you like the curved trigger, go with 23-37690 on the Available page. It's basically what I'd use for an everything JP-5.
  21. Well, we went down that rabbit hole a while ago with the -15's, not as while ago with the -5 first testing and again recently and here's my summary: 100 gr, 95 gr, 115 gr at ~130 PF Blowback guns - Don't even bother. It's not worth what you're going to deal with. JP-5 - I don't see it. Minor issues were the 100 / 95's can be a pain to load with bullet feeders and finding a decent powder was annoying. The real issue was sight picture movement wasn't appreciably different than what you can tune a 124 / 125 at 130 PF or even swapping lock pieces to run factory 124's. Simply put, swapping an 80 degree lock piece to a 70 is dramatic for factory ammo or 125's at 130-140 PF. I couldn't tell the difference in sight movement AT ALL running 100's and 125's both at 130 PF back to back. I could tell the difference in noise as the 100's are obviously louder. Steel knockdown was also very notably different. Playing around with some large poppers, *cough*, good old boy set for minor, the 100's sometimes required a 2nd hit higher. 125's are about as low in weight as I want to go risking an activator not falling with a hit on the bottom of the calibration zone. If you're willing to go through all that, pay close attention to your fired primers. 100 gr, 95 gr, 115 gr at SCSA PF () Blowback guns - Very fun and worth it if you've got some time on your hands. JP-5 - HAHAHA, heck yes brother.
