  1. Super secret squirrel connections. (1st banner on Bayou Bullet's website)
  2. Possibly for Sunday only. Use code: CS1130
  3. I installed a Taccom pistol upper on my AR pistol and it has been awesome. Next year I'm looking to get a Taccom Tracker upper to practice on my competition AR. Great products, great prices and great service. What more could you want?

    .40 Major in CDP

There isn't anything prohibiting a shooter from using a .40 in IDPA. Plenty of room in SSP and ESP for it. From what I've seen from a civilian standpoint, most LE use .40 in Tupperware guns, that would play in ESP and SSP and reserve the 1911 for .45, CDP. Why they don't allow other calibers into CDP is probably only something Bill himself could answer. .40 is still welcome in IDPA, just not in CDP.
  5. If you are going to replace a 5" 9mm barrel, it would have to be another 5" 9mm barrel and not a .40 or .45.
  6. Wouldn't that be against the rules? Not that anyone would check at a major match, but still shady nonetheless. The internal slide lightening, not the tri top.
  7. It's a personal preference. Since my barrel, comp and CF HG are black, I went with the melonite finish.
  8. I don't foresee the wilson Berreta overtaking the SSP world. They'll be rarer than hens teeth. Most will probably be placed in a safe and never see the light of day again.
  9. From what I've gathered SC is getting out of the STI business. Any deals they have going are a 1 time offer. They have some sweet deals on guns they don't intend on replacing. If you can swing the cost, buy now.
  10. Best case scenario, maybe they hope the ESR shooters will join the ranks of SSR. Worst case and probably the actual outcome, those shooters get pissed off and don't renew their membership.
  11. PA usually has their Black Friday deal where you can get the newest model of micro red dot and mount for like $69. It's a sweet deal. While they may or may not stand up to the abuse of military deployment, they will stand up to your hunting, plinking and competition use. I've purchased two in the past 3 years. One sits on top of my competition AR, the other on my plinking AR pistol. I'll probably buy another again this year for another AR build planned for next year.
  12. Do you know anyone with an Edge? See if their holster works for you. I run a wide SDC Eagle and have to use an Edge holster.
  13. With such few shooters attending sanctioned matches, is it even possible to achieve match bumps? Are classifiers the only opportunity to move up?
  14. If all of this had come from the CEO of Berreta, then we wouldn't be talking about this. But regardless of how many mix and match Berreta parts were used for these LIMITED production pistols, they're still being assembled by a third party. Just market it as an ESP pistol and none of this is an issue. But for the same reason we will NEVER see a .40 in CDP, we will now have an ESP Berreta in SSP.
  15. I'm worried that this will be a SSP w/optic division. Not that it would be a bad thing overall, but I prefer shooting 1911/2011 platforms. Worst case, I get my XDm milled for a MRD. Best case scenario, I get another top end built for my 2011.
  16. I had to take a look for myself after reading some of the posts in this thread. They even refer to it as a custom build. How would this even fit into the SSP division? ESP, sure! But SSP? I would hope not.
  17. Glad to hear you weren't hurt and no real damage was done to your guns. Only fail safe features I use on my 550 are lots of light and my eyeballs.
  18. Bayou 147gr over 3.0gr of Clays (clay dot) at 1.145 OAL gets me 130pf out of my 2011.
  19. The rulebook has not been updated yet to reflect the newest changes made this quarter.
  20. It's the STI tactical magwell. I have one on my 2011 and it fits the box.
  21. Yes, but you will of course have to run 126mm mags and not the 140mm that it comes with.
  22. Because just as you have already stated, there have been illegal stages before at National level. And because of that, people will continue to use the excuse of "well, they did it at nationals!". It's a lame excuse for being lazy. Not that these unpaid MDs are lazy, but it is lazy to have an illegal stage pointed out and not do anything about it. Normally it requires a bit of repositioning of the targets to bring it in line with the rulebook. You're right though, what harm would it do to the competitors of the stage were just a wee bit illegal? No harm at all for the competitors, but it then reinforces the idea to other match directors that it is ok to continue the practice of conducting matches with illegal stages. That's where the harm is done.
  23. It definitely doesn't make sense. S&W had their slide lightened 1911, which normally would be illegal. Glock has their coffin cut slide, again, normally illegal. But most of the grey has to do with CDP and ESP where some mods are permitted. None of that has anythg to do with SSP.
  24. Do you even read the rulebook bro? 8.2.1.3.1. Sights may be changed to another notch and post type but slides may not be machined to accept different style sights in SSP. Huh?The Performance Center is part of S&W...same company and location. CZ Customs is not part of CZ-US. They're different companies. That's a bit more than semantics... CZ Custom's products are SKUs/catalog items of CZ USA. S&W Performance Center's products are SKUs/catalog items of SMith & Wesson. Where's the difference again? S&W Performance Center's 1911 are legal for ESP. Their M&P are not SSP legal. I don't understand why some mods are ok for SSP and others aren't. But as mentioned above, they appear to me mostly cosmetic based. And that's probably to save time at the chrony table when they inspect your gun.
  25. SSP = STOCK Service Pistol. Nothing stock about milling a slide to accept a feature that it didn't leave the factory with.
