  1. Does it really put you at a disadvantage when every other BUG revo shooter has 5 shots?
  2. The aluminum grip qualifies. The steal grip would probably put you over the weight limit anyways.
  3. It would still be dominated by 2011s and CZ clones.

    Clays

I still have 3# of ClayDot that has held me until Clays is back in action. Depending on the price of clays when it comes back, I may still opt for ClayDot. Also picked up 8# of N320 for the long haul.
  5. I think this new division is just a scam to sell more Wilson Combats in this variety while the thickness rule makes virtually every other all metal gun illegal. I seriously doubt that. No doubt that WC makes some fine pistolas, but a vast majority of IDPA shooters aren't willing/able to buy them. I haven't taken the time to research it, but I'm sure there are a number of metal framed guns that would fit the bill for CCP. Hell, I bet I can still get a 2011 in that box. I'd take that over anything else.
  6. I think when I measured last, my 2011 with ambi safeties would not make the cut.
  7. I wonder if the restriction might have been aimed at magwells.
  8. Fit but aren't competitive. There's a difference. While I was for optics, I can see the benefit of this division.
  9. The recoil and muzzle rise for the M4s was greatly exaggerated. Especially for having a can hanging off the end. Which is odd because normally Hollywood doesn't even show muzzle rise with pistol or rifles.
  10. Replace the firing pin with a steel one. If I'm not mistaken, it's Ti and needs a very heavy MS to function properly. The steel firing pin will provide more mass to help ignite the primers with a lighter (17#) MS than a Ti would.
  11. These have to be two of the sexiest guns STI has released in quite some time. I don't even shoot USPSA and I still want one of each!
  12. The new rulebook will state the new BUG dimensions as well as the CCP. That should clear up any confusion as to what will or will not work.
  13. We will know more once the rulebook is finalized. My source may be mistaken. Didnt realize this wasn't known to the masses.
  14. If they're reducing the overall height of the gun, what do you think "bottom of the box" means? With the introduction of CCP, BUG is also being revamped.
  15. The Armscor made Spartan wasn't exactly a good representation of what STI stands for, IMO.
  16. I really hope there's some collector's, special edition, unrated, director's cut that is released on dvd/blu ray that adds another 2 hours of unreleased footage. Not a 6hr Dances w/Wolves addition, but something that gives us more of what the book covered that the theatrical version couldn't squeeze in. After I filled her in on some of the changes from book to film, she's decided that she wants to read the book.
  17. Assimilated into SSR and reduced to 155PF if I'm not mistaken.
  18. While these are nice, I can see Bob offering a package for these.
  19. That's what BUG is for. Minus the pocket holsters for safety reasons.
  20. My time wasn't any faster than it would have been with irons that night but I was only 3 down after 6 stages. So while I may not have been any faster, I was definitely more accurate. Minus malfunctions I experienced that night, I my have been able to be overall winner. Again, I've never shot with optics before and I'm sure any that actually dry fire practices would see a noticeable gain in speed. *Full Disclosure: I actually have a flaw in my grip I need to address that is causing malfunctions. My strong hand thumb rubs on the slide while resting on the thumb safety. Both my 1911 and 2011 have the finish worn off from slide where my thumb rubs. My new optics gun is actually a Nelson Custom Conversion kit on top of my custom 2011 (looking to use in steel matches). My thumb rubbing the slide during COF was enough to induce several malfunctions that cost me several seconds on almost each stage. And because I'm shooting .22 ammo, there's always the unavoidable dud rounds from shooting bulk ammo. On the only stage where I had zero malfunctions (1 of 6) I had the fastest stage time. I'm thinking thumb shield safety but I'm wondering if that's more of a bandage than an actual fix.
  21. I don't know about what will rule... But my ideal gamer gun will be a 2011 platform in 9mm. Something like STI's VIP.
  22. Any background as to why they're stamped DVC?
  23. Saw it this evening. It was well worth seeing on the big screen. They definitely changed a few things from the book to give the movie more of a linear plot feel, but it was well done. This could have easily been a great 4hr movie and they could have stayed more in line with the book. Never heard so many men sniffle at a movie. It was almost eerie how quiet everyone was while exiting the theater.
