  1. +1 to this. You will see brass bits too. One of the many things to always be looking for when loading. Wear eye protection.
  2. seriously though, I know several fellas that have been pleased with the .308 DPMS's. A common issue is rough bores that tend to foul, but the ones that have been smoothed up have improved very well in that regard.
  3. I know you said it was designed to not get trash in it, but if the rear of the disconnector (better describes as the spac e under the disconnector) is open at all, trash can get under it, preventing it from getting full movement and thus holding onto the hammer. The description of it not budging fits this to a "T". When you open the gun, it normally gets moved enough to move the trash out of the way, thus the suminabitch works ok. Trash can be the cup of a primer.......... don't ask how I know If it is all sealed up, something inside may have given up on you.
  4. This falls into personal preference........ I like a thin front iron. I Run NM fronts on a Garand and an M1A. Others like standard and still others won't care at all. Run what works for you
  5. THIS................... Is funny
  6. Sorry to hear you couldn't sleep........ Sending you 5000 Berger .25 cal bullets and money for pizza. Return shipping pre-paid
  7. Just don't go cheap and or/nylon..... a fitted leather holster with a high quality wrap, usually neoprene, is the secret to ankle holster comfort.
  8. Para will send you one, but if it were me, I would take the opportunity to put a better part in. No slam on para, these things happen.
  9. Im going by memory here, but doesn't the FAL have an adjustable gas port/gas block? check that first. And 2nd, there is a moderate deal on a 16" M1A SOCCOM in the classifieds today.....................
  10. Not enough info to diagnose, but the prime suspect will be a high pressure loading, with a contributing factor being the sizing. It has been said here before by other members, "Get thee to a chrono" Good luck, post more details about the load
  11. THIS............................ is funny (And I don't do red)
  12. Ref the question about a ruck: Kifaru. Your grandkids will still be using it when they are old. Rucks are like scopes. Whatever brand is your favorite, get a good one. Buy once, cry once.
  13. If you want to placate him, send him to law enforcement. Those hair cut manequin heads are in high demand for realistc training there.
  14. editing a typo of that magnitude destroys my attempt to be witty......................
  15. Look, keep your hog "but"ing off the forum.......... what you do in private is your business......... search yellowpages(dot)com under "wholesale meats" and select the city/state. You will get bunch of hits. Whole Hog BBQ is awesome...............
  16. Mr Smith makes a good suggestion. Time of the year plays a big role in their workload. The faster the better on getting it in.
  17. Repete said it....... the side saddle can be too tight. It will interfere with proper function if it is. Me thinks this is the highest probability of the cause
  18. 68 grains will run just fine in that twist.
  19. Never said it was nor did I intend to imply it was. I said "Nightforce is a great scopes but for 600yds there are a few better bargains available". It all depends on what the shooter needs - what level of precision is required. Not everyone needs to spend $2000 plus on a scope. I've watched a couple people shoot 1/2 MOA at 600yds with a semi-custom Savage 10 with a mid-priced 4-14x scope and factory ammo. And I've watched people with custom rifles with Schmidt and Bender scopes who were having trouble keeping under 2 MOA at the same distance. This says it well
  20. Im not positive, but I don't think it works, assuming you are talking about G 9mm/.40 cal mags. I think the front to back size of the STI mags are just a shade too much. You will know for sure soon enough.
  21. You are right lota of OCD thin slicing Blonga here. Trapr and MarkCo I know these guys and they know what they are talking about. For me I shoot 55gr most of the time as I like the lighter recoil in the rifle. But for those big matches with a few long shots 400+ I get out the 69gr SMK's cause it only takes one blown out stage to push you down to the bottle of oil and a lens wiping rag section of the prize table, and I'm with you I know my SMK is accurate and its going to hit exactly where I point it. As one who wears out the "bottle of oil and lens wiping rag section of the prize table", I think i should be offended..........
